Wake up and enjoy a morning coffee or mimosa on the front porch, a walk on the beach, or a stroll around the private paths of the neighborhood to the Intracoastal Waterway and inlet. This distinctive Holden Beach home offers a private pool and is located directly across from public beach access... the perfect setup for many fond vacation memories!

A spacious open floor plan greets you at the entrance with cathedral ceilings, picture windows, a wet bar and well-equipped kitchen. Enjoy four spacious bedrooms, four full bathrooms, a cozy loft with queen, several outdoor areas, an outdoor shower, and a poolside half bath.

First floor:
• King bedroom, ensuite bath with jacuzzi tub
• King bedroom, full bath located in first floor hallway

Second floor:
• Queen/Queen bedroom, ensuite bath
• King bedroom with balcony, full bath located in second floor hallway
• Queen bed in very cozy loft

The outdoor spaces are a great retreat after a day on the beach. Our rocking chairs invite you to enjoy the views from the covered front porch any time of day. The private swimming pool is overlooked by a wrap-around porch and poolside half bath. The pool can be heated during certain times of year (inquire for more details). An outdoor shower makes rinsing off a breeze. A poolside, built-in brick barbecue and screened-in dining area provide the perfect setup for dining in.

This home is located in an oceanfront gated community at the east end of the island. You have access to the beach, inlet, and Intracoastal Waterway using the private paths from within the community as well as public beach access directly across the street.

Wonderful Family Vacation Home
The house was just as beautiful as in the pictures-we enjoyed reading on the porch in the rocking chairs with the beautiful ocean views There was plenty of room for our family of 6- everyone had their own space and beautiful open concept living/dining/kitchen. Several eating options inside and all the deck areas. We would definitely stay here again!

Pure Perfection
We loved our stay and were sad to leave. The home was the cleanest home we have ever rented. The pool and the views were amazing!! You can’t beat rocking on the front porch and watching the ocean. We highly recommend this property, and hope to one day come back!!

We enjoyed the stay at Southern Comfort especially the morning bloody Mary's on the porches! The ocean view was wonderful and we could even hear the ocean! The short walk to the beach was perfect. I would definitely recommend this home for a stay at the beach!

Great beach getaway
Overall we really enjoyed our stay here very much. It's an excellent location with lots of privacy and peace. The local food was great - we didn't cook a lot, but the kitchen seemed well-stocked and we used the charcoal grill out back once. We really enjoyed the deck spaces and the pool. The few minor hiccups we experienced were dealt with quickly by the owners. Overall would recommend!!

Great Choice!
The home sits beautifully on top of the hill with a great view of the sunrise, sunset and ocean. Access to the beach was close and easy to get to. The location provides privacy and away from the busy hussle and bussle of the area. The home is spacious, and comfortable for a 3 generation family vacation. The accommodations in the home were great and most everything you need in the kitchen is provided. The pool is beautiful and the seating options on the porches and deck are great. I love how there is a table to have a meal together inside, outside or on the screened in porch! What a great place! Thanks for making our time in Holden Beach a great and memorable one!

2023 Vacay
This was hands down the most beautiful house we have ever rented. It was clean… decorated beautifully… and the kitchen was so nicely stocked with everything we needed to cook. The pool was delightful and the walk to the beach was super easy and quick. The area was quiet and private which is exactly what we wanted. Communication with the owners was easy and the one small item we needed to be taken care of was taken care quickly. The only thing I would suggest is that you bring a fan with you…. The two bedrooms downstairs got really warm overnight…. I would highly recommend this home for your next vacation. We are already trying to book this very same place for next year!! Thank you so much for helping to make this the best beach trip ever!

Excellent and welcoming!
From start to finish, truly a wonderful experience. The home is beautiful, well stocked, charming, amazing. The pool is perfect, heated as agreed upon, a polite pool crew cleaned twice in our week-long stay. With just a short walk to the beach, this home provided paradise! We rocked on the front porch at sunrise, and enjoyed sunsets from the pool. The check-in process was the easiest I’ve ever experienced, and the homeowner was so accommodating from booking and throughout our stay. Our 6-year-old said he hopes we can stay in this home again and we all agree! We have had many other vacation stays that brought challenges. This beautiful home and host provided everything we could have ever hoped for, making it an incredibly beautiful vacation! Highly recommend!

Beautiful home with great location near beach
The house was very clean, spacious and located a short walk from the beach. We enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs on the front of the house looking at the ocean. We were there for a hatching of turtles and got to see one of them make it into the water. There were many shells on the far left side of the beach. It was about a 10-15 minute walk to the end of the island where the best shells were. We enjoyed visits to Southport, Wilmington , Calanash , Oak Island and Bald Head Island. We had a very good meal at the Castaway restaurant. The pool was cleaned regularly and was nice to have even though it was too chilly to swim. The ocean on the other hand was warm and enjoyable to walk along the surf. The rooms were all large, the beds comfortable and the kitchen very convenient. We would rent this home again.

Fantastic Experience!
Worked perfectly for our group of six adults and six kids under 8. Pool was warm, clean, and just spacious enough for all the kids and a couple of adults. House had all of the amenities needed. Big kitchen with multiple options for eating areas worked well for us. Beautiful views from the wrap-around deck ensured a comfortable sitting area anytime of day. Beach is less than a 2 minute walk, so very easy and convenient access. One of the more under-rated pieces was the access to gated community amenities. We enjoyed tennis, pickleball, basketball, and the community pool as well, and generally had them all to ourselves. Lastly, Courtney and Matthew were very easy to work with, providing clear and regular communication, which really simplified trip planning. Couldn't have been better :)

Perfection in every way
Our week at Southern Comfort was absolutely perfect. The home was beautiful and well equipped to meet all our needs. The location was ideal as the beach was an easy walk and the views from the many porches and decks was beautiful! Our kids enjoyed riding bikes and fishing as well. The owners were helpful and responsive to even the most minor question. We had more than enough room for our group of 8, so much so that we were able to invite friends down for the day as well. The kitchen had everything we needed to be able to prepare and eat all our meals at home every day. The screened porch was a favorite place to relax with a book and enjoy the sounds and sights of the ocean. Having bath towels and linens provided was an added bonus! Thank you for doing everything possible to ensure that our vacation was one to be remembered. We created many memories and would definitely look forward to another vacation at Southern Comfort.

Relaxing week in a beautiful beach home
We have rented through VRBO multiple times in the past but this was, by far, one if the best experiences to date. The homeowners were so easy to work with, communicated with us every step of the way and were so thoughtful with little touches like a welcome bag of goodies & start up supplies that are often lacking. We were celebrating our son’s high school graduation and they even left cupcakes & a card! The house & pool were immaculate & the owners made sure to communicate their cleaning processes given the current pandemic concerns. The ocean views were fabulous & we enjoyed relaxing in the rocking chairs on the front porch with our coffee each morning & enjoyed the views from the screened porch for meals. We made use of the community center several times & were impressed with the availability facilities. The gated community felt safe & the surrounding area was quite walkable & exercise friendly. Overall we had a fabulous week!

Amazing Beach Vacation
I have been vacationing on the Carolina coast with my family every year for 14 years. Our week at Southern Comfort was the best one yet. Holden Beach is a wonderful destination and the accommodations at Southern Comfort were perfect. The home is clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The large great room has enough space to accommodate everyone easily (4 adults and 3 kids) and the bedrooms offer plenty of privacy if anyone needed alone time. Temperatures were in the mid 90s during our vacation so we spent most evenings inside with the AC but there are so many windows that we didn't miss being outside. When the breeze picked up it was wonderful to sit on the deck and talk or play games. The views are amazing- especially at sunset. The private pool is awesome- and clean. The house is a very short walk from the beach- but it is also easy to drive a car to drop off some heavier items (like our canapy). There was a very nice gift basket waiting for us upon arrival. The only issue we had was with the ice maker and the owner had it fixed ASAP. We loved our stay so much we have already made plans to return next year!

Best Vacation Rental Ever
This beautiful home provided us with the best vacation ever! The home has everything you could possibly need for your stay. The pictures are very accurate. The pool was wonderful to have and the beach access was easy. Having three different porches made for the perfect sitting to see sunrises and sunsets. The homeowners were very responsive! We are looking forward to staying here again!

Nicely kept home and property. Beautiful views of sunsets and sunrises. Wonderful pool with plenty of chairs (there is even an outdoor half bath, something you don't usually have) and a big outdoor grill. Very close to beach access. Quiet section of the beach. Everyone in my group liked the house and would rent it again.

Holden Beach
It was our first time visiting Holden Beach. The house was amazing. It is well stocked with pool and beach accessories, even pickleball. I spoke with a few other people on the beach and they had to bring many things that we did not. Courtney responded immediately to messages and was kind even though I was delirious after the 11 hour car ride to get there. Everything was perfect.
