This oceanfront home is an elevated cottage that sits just a few steps from the open sand. This home has VT flooring throughout, central heat and air-conditioning, a washer/dryer for your swimsuits and beach towels, cable TVs, and free WiFi. Enjoy the ambience of the electric fireplace in the evenings. The kitchen is well-equipped with such conveniences as a microwave and a dishwasher. Other amenities include an open porch with a swing, an enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water, an oceanfront sundeck, covered parking, and a private walkway to the beach.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

Location is perfect! Wake up to the ocean every morning is great!Several things should be updated but it didn’t really detract from our stay there! Also, dog friendly as well as the beach.

Oceanfront but needs TLC
The ocean view is amazing from the whole back of the house. The outdoor deck area was nice and safe even for little dogs. Just be mindful of the birds flying overhead because the deck area seems to be a restroom target area when they are in flight. The kitchen was well stocked to allow for cooking in. However, that being said, the house definitely needs some TLC! This house has such potential. A few cans of paint and removing dated artwork would be a quick inexpensive fix. Overall, a great week at Holden Beach.

Nice location but needs some work
Very nice location with great beach access. Beautiful views. House was clean and kitchen fully equipped. We would likely return if some things were addressed, e.g., 1. There are two showers but the one off the bedroom had a faulty spigot and it was impossible to regulate the water temperature, thus we couldn't use it. 2. The screen door needs to be reset so it closes properly. 3. One of the toilets would periodically keep running. Apparently there is a leak and/or other malfunction with the refill mechanism. 4. The beach/outdoor furniture needs placed. They were multiple chairs that were broken and unusable. 5. The storage area for the beach chairs, etc. was a mess. It should have been much better organized. The things were just piled in on top of each other. 6. We never were able to figure our how to turn the on the outdoor lights under the house. It would have been nice to been able to use them. 7. Better instructions should have been provided for the TV. We figured it out but it took awhile.

Fantastic beach access and view. Ummm but let me share the rest! Outdated! Counters cracked and chipped. Oven allows heat to escape inside! Get a new oven! Floors sinking in kitchen and master bedroom. Master bed is horrific - had to purchase a $120.00 3” bed topper to sleep! Master toilet wasn’t secure to the floor! The kitchen sink faucet wobbled and looked like a 4 yo installed it. There is filtered water but the faucet for that was hanging loose as well. Washing machine broke 1 day in. No washer the entire week! Spent 1/2 a day of MY VACATION TIME in Shalotte at the laundry mat 👎 No blinds in main living area windows- thermostat stayed 80 inside from about 12pm - 9pm!!! HOT Left 2 days early because this house is just not comfortable! Take care of your property - renters beware!!! This vacation was horrible! I feel like I was completely mislead and taken advantage of. I get to take ONE vacation a year and thank god for the view and access - that’s the only thing that is wonderful about this property! Zero stars!

It was okay.
This is a charming house that would benefit from a little TLC. It was well stocked with all the necessities one could need for their stay. And all appliances were in good, working order. First impression of the house was that it was clean; however, upon further inspection, the shower head in the owner’s suite was covered in black mold. I ended up running to the dollar store for some spray bleach to remedy the situation. While there, I picked up an inexpensive bathroom rug, as one was not provided. As an older person, I feel neither comfortable nor secure stepping onto a bath towel as this is a potential fall hazard. There were several places in the flooring, particularly in the kitchen area, that felt spongy under foot, as if perhaps the subfloor was rotting? The kitchen counter was in poor repair and would benefit from an update. The beds were not comfortable and we ended up purchasing mattress toppers in an attempt to get a better night sleep. The rooms facing the side of the house would benefit from some blackout curtains as the light from the street lamps are not sufficiently blocked by the blinds. We were not provided keys to the guest storage and were unable to access beach chairs during our stay. Overall, it’s a decent house with a wonderful location & beautiful views. However, without some updates it is unlikely that I would book this house again.

The best place to be at.
Amazing! Not only does Vacasa make sure it's clean but the owners take much pride in providing it top notch for your experience! The location, amenities and everything else was way more than enough. They had everything I forgot back home! I've never stayed in a place with such great comfort. What made the experience the best was knowing who we rented through and how everyone was so friendly, kind, helpful and down to earth. Huge shout out to the owners of the property!

Perfect setting
I loved the sounds and view of the ocean from my deck. House has everything you need. I love the fact that their is only one neighbor because the other side of house is the public beach parking. Also enjoyed all the beach walks to the intercoastal. Th owners we met, they are 2 amazing people. Super kind and go above and beyond for any needs. We were blessed to meet them.

Great cottage!
Anchors Away had everything we needed. We were pleasantly surprised by the great collection of sand toys for the children, beach chairs, Scrabble and other games and puzzles, and good books for all ages. It's a simple cottage, perfect for relaxing at the beach. It was a good place for our two dogs. The gate on the porch was helpful for both children and dogs. We appreciated being near the East end with easy access to the more remote end of the island. There were some cars parked nearby for the day, but it's a big beach and we were not crowded or disturbed at all. We hope to return to Anchors Away!

Great Location
The house is clean and well stocked. When we arrived, we were missing kitchen towels, and a welcome text from Vacasa asked if everything was as expected, the next day kitchen towels were hanging on the door knob. Kitchen has all of the essentials, a larger cutting board would have been handy. The beds are comfy, our crowd slept well. Outdoor shower/hose helped keep some sand out of the house, but with kids and dogs its going to happen, would have been nice to have a slightly nicer vacuum to help with the sand. Being close to the point is nice, we were able to find lots of shells and some shark teeth. If you hit low tide right, you can walk right out to the sand bar. Places to hit: Dock House Seafood, Beaches-n-Cream Ice cream, Aunt Irene's Sweets for Hot Cinnamon Rolls & Ludlums Produce. We had a wonderful vacation, Love Holden Beach!

Best beach view ever! Decor was less than HGTV, but house was clean, spotless & had everything we needed - a great beach view & easy access. Holden Beach is beautiful & has a wonderful laid back vibe.
