"Here is a paradise away from home! The staff welcome you with a kind, generous smile who ensure you feel 100% comfortable! The room is very comfortable, with great bathroom! Hot water and great Aircon! The common spaces are magical- lots of tables and chairs to sit with a beautiful view of the river and a clean pool to have a dip in after a hot day! Breakfast has many options- from omelette with or without meat and cereals and fruit! Only thing is dinner service ends at 6pm- but local...

"So, after having such nice welcomes.everywhere I've ever been in Thailand, here was a bit of a shock. There is no real welcome and interaction comes across at best nonplussed, at worst rude. But if you come prepared for that and you have a room on the raft, they are lovely and are good value for the price. Once you get over the lack of interaction with anyone.... It's great! The view from the river are really lovely to wake up to."

"The place is good if you like quite villager style of living. The place is 2-3km off the main road. Only a couple of shops selling sundry goods. If you do not have your own transportation, then it could be problematic. Need to call the owner to fetch you in as he speak good English. To get supplies or food, need to travel a few kilometers to town. The single unit wooden house is the main thing that attracts me but the room is a bit small and crammed. I would expect them to clear the rubbish...

"Good location, just opposite the bus terminal. Host is nice to let us place our baggage for storage. Room is dusty, bed is hard to sleep on."

"It's a home that has been converted into a 5 room hotel. There is free parking. It's cramped, but there's parking. It's on the river, which is nice, but you'll hear river boats throughout the day and night. Because it is formerly a house, you'll hear the guests next door pretty easily. Overall, it's a nice, not too expensive place to stay. No complaints about the room, other than we could hear everything going on in the other rooms. If you like to sleep in, you might want to choose somewhere...

"Baan Khong Tara is relatively new Thai style hotel. Although it is located outside Ayutthaya Island, it is quite near Wat Chaiwattanaram (2km) and there are several ways to get to the city. The home-stay breakfast was great ! Services overall was excellent. There are good quality bikes for rent if you like cycling around. Roughly the place can accommodate 12 car parking. Value for money !"

"Comfortable homestay hosted by our great host who also cooked us a delicious thai breakfast! Location was decent with one of the best temples within cycling distance. Host leant us her bikes for free and arranged for rides around town from her contacts which was a plus in getting around."

"I stayed to play golf, do sightseeing and calm down. It is true. You are part of the family. Fantastic service. Quiet. Excellent breakfast (and dinner). Need some improvement in external areas. "

"We stayed there one night, and wished we stayed there longer. We took a tuk tuk to the Thailand Burma Railway Centre and the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery War. We came back and ate at the Good Times Restaurant, which was excellent. We later took a swim at the beautiful and refreshing pool, then called it a night. The next day, we enjoyed a huge delicious buffet breakfast at the same restaurant. The staff was amazing, and deserve recognition for phenomenal service… thumbs up to the staff and resort. It was so good, we went back there twice to eat at the riverside and enjoy Good Times. Thank you! We would not hesitate to book here again! "

"Such a lovely jacuzzi with river view! Lovely hotel with walking distance to shopping, river, coffee shops, bar and more! Great vegan food options right next door called ON THAI ISSAN VEGAN AND VEGETARIAN RESTAURANT! The chef also have cooking classes and it’s a great family friendly restaurant experience! "
