Welcome to Blacktail Retreat, a private log cabin situated on 10 treed acres, just 8 minutes from Sun Peaks Resort and 5 minutes from the shores of Heffley Lake.

Blacktail Retreat is a serene escape for couples and families alike, and after a long day on the mountain offers guests an extraordinary experience away from the hustle of the village.

Our studio cabin with loft accommodation has room to sleep 4 comfortably.

The cabin offers a private deck perfect for a morning coffee, as well as an outdoor seating area where one can relax with a good book or glass of wine in the evening.

Families can enjoy a covered BBQ area with a wood burning fire pit for your nightly s’mores and hot chocolate.

The hot tub, available for your private and exclusive use, is the perfect spot to take in the view or marvel over a night-time sky full of stars.

Your Blacktail Retreat stay has been designed with your every comfort in mind and encourages its guests to sit back and relax in their unique and quiet “home away from home.”

Erin’s cabin is such a cool place to stay while skiing at Sun peaks. The hot tub, cowboy grill and fire pit and cabin are amazing. Everything you need is there and more!

Perfect place for a stop for a few days. Wonderful log cabin with everything you could ask for. Quiet and peaceful! Hot tub and fire place where both welcomed given the weather conditions. Highly recommended.

Summer Road Trip
This was a great first stop on our summer road trip to Vancouver Island! The cabin was quiet and secluded, and the hot tub was a great way to end a long day of driving. Everything was very well organized and the hosts had everything there that we needed. Great experience and we hope to return again!!!

My partner and I stayed here for a ski trip to Sun Peaks. It's an amazing property! Well appointed, comfortable, and cozy! Great hot tub. 12 minute drive to the ski hill. Host was amazing, and communicated well. We would love to stay here again :)

Perfect and private cozy cabin
Everything met or exceeded our expectations staying at Blacktail! Our hosts were always quick to respond to any questions we had before arrival. During our stay we felt like we had our own little piece of private paradise while thoroughly enjoying the fire pit and hot tub. Kevin brought us extra firewood without us having to ask and immediately provided us with any information or extras we needed. Can’t say enough good things about staying here or the wonderful ambiance of this tiny cabin away from home. Loved every minute and will be back!

What a little slice of paradise.
Such a beautiful little cabin, had everything we needed and was super cozy. The baseboard heaters were such a lovely touch in this cabin as then you don’t need to worry about the fire going out in the night. The hot tub, and the stars. Just the perfect escape from the city we all needed. But with some of the luxuries of home. So not a complete shock to teenagers. Lovely and enjoyable. Hope to return soon. Thank you Erin and Kevin!

Not a single thing you can think of is missing from this cabin! Every drawer and cupboard filled with everything you will need. Erin & Kevin have thought out every aspect of this cabin to satisfy your needs. The welcome basket upon arrival makes it extra special and personalized! Thank you for the wonderdul stay and Erin for being the hostess with the mostest! Its worth mentioning - My first assumption was that the loft with the bunk beds overlook the main bedroom area, and it does not! It overlooks the kitchen, which gives privacy for both rooms. My daughter absolutely loved the loft area, gave all her friends back home a virtual tour of her "room" and the snowy view out of her window. Thanks again for everything!

Beautiful home away from home
I had an absolutely amazing time, everything included. Close to the ski hill. Just bring food and clothes and your set. Wifi a little slow; to be expected in the location but there is cell service. This unique, beautiful, well kept log cabin is perfect for a family getaway. Quiet, warm wood stove, hot tub, gazebo covered fire pit, the owner was very welcoming and made sure we had all we needed. Definitely be visiting again.

Beautiful retreat w/ waterfall, lake for swimming near by
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. 20 min walk to beautiful waterfalls. Swam in the lake that’s about a 5 min drive and rented ebikes up at sun peaks. Great spot.

Above and beyond our expectations. This was the perfect place to celebrate our 35th Anniversary in style. The cabin had all the essentials and was fully stocked with little details to make our stay perfect. The welcome gift was such a surprise and made our day extra special. The private hot tub was a highlight for us, such a treat. Everything is so well maintained and Erin and Kevin are amazing hosts!

Perfect little spot
This was the perfect little cabin! It was exactly as pictured, and was outfitted perfectly with everything you could need! The location was quiet and secluded, but close to the Sun Peaks resort and Kamloops is only a short drive away. There are several nice hiking trails nearby. If you are looking to get away from the busyness, this is a great little spot. We loved it and would go back! As per other comments we saw before booking, it is closer to the house than expected, but that didn't impact our time at all. After spending a week there we wouldn't change anything. It was a great spot to get away.

The cabin is absolutely amazing, everything you need for an escape from a busy city life.
We had an awesome stay at the cabin. The hosts were super friendly and helpful. Although the cabin looks small , we had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves. And the hot tub was AMAZING after a long hike. The crackling fire made the star gazing a very peaceful and relaxing experience. We loved every minute of it. Thank you for everything Erin .
