My wife, son, and I had a great stay for three nights in this apartment in Ludwigsburg. Our host, Madeleine, was welcoming and generous, even moving her car so we could park right outside of the apartment for the duration of our stay, and provided us with daily parking passes (3 euro each) so we didn't have to go locate them ourselves. On Madeleine's recommendation, we used public transit exclusively as there's a lot of road construction in and around Stuttgart. The train station is a comfortable 15 minute walk from the apartment and from there, you can get access to all of the trains and buses in and around Stuttgart. We ended up buying a Stuttcart city card from the Ludwigsburg information center which included free access to all of the public transportation as well as entrance to many museums and attractions. Turned out to be a great bargain because we used the transit system so much.
The apartment was really a treat for us. Located on a quiet street, it has lots of room to spread out with a bedroom for my wife and I and a separate bedroom for my son, a living room and large kitchen. The kitchen is beautiful with modern appliances and while we ate out for lunch, we chose to cook all of our dinners in the apartment (grocery store in a shopping mall is a 5 minute walk) - partially because we were watching World Cup matches in the evenings.
I'm not sure if I'll be in the Stuttgart area again, but if I am, I will definitely stay in this apartment. It couldn't have been more comfortable. Thanks, Madeleine, for helping to make our stay so enjoyable.
