The cottage is in a lovely, remote spot with beautiful scenery in the surrounding area. The cottage itself is small and basic, but we enjoyed its quirky character and bold colour scheme! It was fun to stay there with our seven year old for a couple of days.

We could not stay. After seeing property we left and found other accommodation. The photo on booking site was not the property.
Good communication from the owner before we arrived. Property was an old cottage, but quaint and clean and had everything we needed except milk or sugar. The washer and dryer was a bonus.
The photo showing the ‘exterior’ of the cottage, i.e on the waterfront is not the cottage. It’s at least 500m from that with no view of the loch apart from at the bedroom window. It was not as clean as we’d expect and the decor too ‘busy’ the kitchen/dining/ sitting area very cluttered. The bath mat was soaking wet. We had booked for two nights but left early the first morning having had no choice but to sleep there.

Mildewy smell from being damp and cold. A lot of furniture for a tight space so hard to move around. Washing machine did not work.

Beds and towels were clean !!
Cupboards, drawers, could be cleaned
Carpets could (should) be renewed !
No real "sitting" site for a rest (two armchairs in the kitchen near the window)
No welcome from the owner !!
Very small and cluttered and dark.
Things did not work properly and everything very basic

This place is well off the beaten track. No shops, no restaurants just a rail station with a few yrains a day. Its very good if you have a car and want a base close to Skye. Beautiful area, cotage homely but very basic. Noce bedroom up stairs, well equipped kitchen and bathroom down.Thats it, perfect for two.
This is a very small property with steep stairs so not ideal for anyone with knee problems. The power supply is limited as is the TV signal and wifi. The area outside is unkempt and neglected which is a pity in such a beautiful location.

We would not recommend this place to anyone. It was dirty, power an issue. One appliance at a time. The outside area very untidy. Access not easy. The host not really competent. The only saving grace, it was quiet.
This is more like a fishing cabin and not of the standard required for a holiday rental and especially not at the price. It is worth noting that the first image on the listing is NOT this property which caused us some confusion. This is a tiny one up, one down cottage in the middle of a row, the others still being renovated. The owner lives on site, which while we have no issue with, we didn't know.
The yard is a mess with rubble and building materials lying around (including broken glass). Property backs onto a train line which isn't loud but not suitable for children.
The property itself is tiny. Steep and very narrow staircase not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
Kitchen is very old and shabby, although cooker is new and washer/drier very much appreciated.
The decor is frankly terrible with every surface a different colour and in poor condition. Paint flaking off walls, cracks in plaster, lino lifting and shabby carpet. With a little work this could be a wonderful property. It desperately needs a good paint in a neutral colour, neutral sheets/towels, and far fewer knickknacks that make it feel like you are invading someone's home. Ok for a fishing retreat. Not ok for a family.
The property was quaint and as expected from other reviews and the listing details. It felt rather damp but there were electric fan heaters in each room which quickly warmed the place up. The Wi-Fi kept going off and we were unable to make the tv work but that wasn’t an issue as we were only there for two nights.

Railway cottage
Although a bit out of the way for places to eat, the accommodation included a full kitchen so you can cook a meal. Also a washing machine and dryer which was a big plus for us. Stairs quite steep up to bedroom so as we were only staying one night we just took the clothes we needed in a backpack and left suitcase in vehicle or downstairs.
The property was suitable for an overnight stop. Not much in local area, so stock up with whatever you need at Spar in Lochcarron. Although the bedroom can accommodate a family of 3, it's more suited to a couple.
The cottage was great for 2 people with easy access to the sights. Just two notes: 1) The stairs to the bedroom are steep, so be aware of that if you have any mobility issues. 2) The unit smells strongly of cigarettes, for those who may be sensitive.

Garçonnière aménagée!!!
Cottage atypique un peu isolé.
Propreté douteuse
Système électrique pas adapté: nous avons voulu utiliser le dryer. Le circuit électrique de la moitié de l'appartement s'est coupé...
