At 5,325 elevation Strawberry is located just minutes from the ever-so-popular Pinecrest Lake and Dodge Ridge Ski Resort. Strawberry is both a summer and winter vacation community situated at the transition zone between the oak forest of the California foothills and the mixed pine and fir forest of the Sierra Nevada. Summers are cool with the higher elevation during the day and the nights are generally mild; making Strawberry a pleasant escape from the long, hot summers of the California Central Valley. Winters can be very cold with snow occurring several times during the season. Winter sports venues are located nearby at Leland High Sierra Snowplay near Strawberry (snow tubing), Long Barn Lodge & Ice Skating Rink, and Dodge Ridge Ski Area near Pinecrest are all along Highway 108, plus the Badger Pass Ski Area in nearby Yosemite Park.

Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years week-4 night minimum. Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends-3 night minimum.
PLEASE NOTE: We do not accommodate check-outs on Thanksgiving day, Christmas Eve, Christmas day and New Years day . If this information is overlooked before booking, we will ask you to please cancel on your end as this is notated in our listing.
PET POLICY
We love our furry friends, there is a $100 non-refundable pet fee. Please do not allow pets on any furniture or beds. Pets are not to be left alone at the cabin at any time. 2 pet max.
EXTRA GUESTS:
Guest count must be the same as on the reservation. This will help us insure there are enough towels and accommodations for each guest.
WI-FI
Enjoy high-speed Internet. Stream Netflix or your favorite app on the 55 inch smart TV.
NOISE ORDINANCE
Sound travels very easily in this area. Please respect the fellow cabins. Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 8am in this area. No outdoor music is permitted.
ITEMS LEFT BEHIND
We charge a $20 handling fee, plus the postage and any other costs involved in getting the item/s returned to you. You are welcome to contact us directly to coordinate personal retrieval if item is found upon checkout.
BBQ
We do provide a charcoal barbecue located on the deck. Keep in mind that we do not maintain the charcoal. We recommend you bring up an extra bag for backup just in case it runs out.
WINTER TRAVEL
In the winter months, we highly recommend that you carry chains and/or have 4 wheel drive. The Black Cedar Retreat is located on simi steep roads and depending on the storm the roads may not be plowed yet. We provide a shovel at the property. If visiting during active snowfall, you might be required to shovel access for parking.
IF YOUR STAY IS CANCELLED DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER OR IF THE CABIN IS NOT ACCESSIBLE DUE, TO HEAVY SNOW, WE WILL NOTIFY YOU 24 HOURS BEFORE CHECK-IN TO RESCHEDULE YOUR STAY OR ISSUE YOU A REFUND.
Winter weather may bring snow. Please note that we do not accept any liability if you’re snowed in/out, experience loss of power, road closures, or other issues out of the host's control. Power outages may happen due to weather, PG&E shut off, etc. If you book the cabin you are accepting these possibilities and will not receive a refund. We recommend all guests get their own trip insurance if you are concerned about these possibilities. We also recommend all guests carry chains in the winter. Please note that snow is not removed from the property by the hosts. However, shovels are provided for guests.
