We stayed here with another couple and it had everything we needed.
We could walk to one of the pubs for tea so it was very convenient.
It was great that the back verandah was screened all the way around - nice to not be bother by insects.
We only had an overnight stay but wouldn’t hesitate booking again for a longer stay. The property was very clean and is well located, being an easy walk to cafes and shops. Strathalbyn is a beautiful little town.
We have throughly enjoyed our stay at Angus Cottage. We initially booked for 7 nights and extended our stay to 10 nights.
The cottage has a lovely welcoming feeling and it has everything we needed for our stay.
The beds were very comfortable and we especially enjoyed the yard and deck.
The host was very accommodating, easy and prompt to communicate with.
It’s been a wonderful stay here and we are very grateful to find this accommodation in Strathalbyn.
The house has everything you could want ow hope for. Fantastic outdoor sitting area with bbq, including fly wire. It is within walking distance to the shops, park and river. The bed was comfortable with plenty of extra blankets, should you need them (we didn’t). The house is clean, barring a few cobwebs. The owner was easy to contact and very friendly. We very much enjoyed our stay and will again. Thank you.
Upside: A central & quiet location; great for checking out district & surrounds & easy walking distance to town centre. Comfortable beds, sheer curtains in bedroom for daytime privacy. Excellent R/C air-con, WiFi & TV. Practical floorplan & secure backyard for pets, with a great deck to sit & relax.
Downside: Bathroom taps (sink & shower) need replacing; they drip & are hard to turn on/off with arthritic hands. The long vertical blind in kitchen area is defective. Bushes adjacent to deck screen door need pruning. Roller door to carport too narrow for larger cars.

Liked: Amenities, communication
Disliked: Cleanliness
It was a really lovely place in the back yard to have a yarn and watch the sunrise, recommend that very much! However it seemed like the presence of a mouse (we didn't see it but we were told about it) meant that the cleaning process may have been impeded. The blankets were a bit mucky/stained and the towels were not clean, with yellow stains and hairs on them. We found some clean ones in the cupboard though, so it didn't seem to be a problem. All in all, nice place but seemed to need a bit extra attention.
Two adults, 5.5yr old boy and my small dogs stayed at this property. We enjoyed the close proximity and the clean and tidy home. The bed was comfortable 😄

Liked: Check-in, location
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Cleaning unsatisfactory.
Kitchen:
Kitchen sink full of grunge
We pulled apart and cleaned thoroughly. We cleaned ourselves.
Dishwasher left over slops in bottom, stinks disgusting.
Did two empty washes on Intensive, still stinks. Will not be using.
Fluoro kitchen light not working.
Microwave filthy fingerprints on door.
Stove top not cleaned from spillage slops
Did not use either.
Cupboards oily residue on all faces.
We did not attempt to clean.
Toaster top - full of breadcrumbs and inside.
Not even shaken out. We will not use.
Storage cupboard for toaster full of dust and dirt. Did not clean.
Kitchen bin - pedal missing
Cobwebs in many areas not addressed
Numerous spiders in cobwebs.
Laundry
Fluoro light not working
Bathroom
Unaware had to climb into bath to have shower. Deliberately not shown in pictures.
My wife has breast and bone cancer, extremely difficult to get into bath.
Shower - not much water pressure but plenty in kitchen sink.
White towels very thin quality.
Discoloured, at least one stains evident.
Lounge:
TV filthy fingermarks. We have cleaned.
Outside:
Lawns overgrown and full of weeds front and back.
Front yard three plastic drink containers near driveway.
Very annoyed with general cleaning and presentation.
Tried to book accomodation elsewhere after we checked in. We would have moved but nothing else available.
Seeking compensation please. At least cleaning costs returned both nights.
Initially booked the Saturday. Requested early check in. Not considered. Told we had to book the night before, separately. Hence have already paid a cleaning fee TWICE, when the original cleaning presentation was disgusting.
Look forward to your feedback and compensation. We have pictures evidencing all of the above mentioned matters.
Accommodation for Winery Wedding in Langhorne Creek
Lovely cottage that suited us perfectly for somewhere to stay during our visit to Strathalbyn and Langhorne Creek for a wedding. Very nice outside area with table and chairs on an enclosed area with decking.
