From here, steps lead down to the large living room with double doors opening onto the balcony, again to make the most of those fabulous views. Portpatrick is one of the most popular holiday villages on the coast of south west Scotland, with its pretty little harbour, quirky shops, small putting green and of course you can take a trip from the harbour to enjoy a spot of fishing or just a leisure cruise. Walkers are well catered for in Portpatrick with spectacular cliff paths in both directions, where you can follow the path past Dunskey Castle to Knockinaam, or past several secluded bays to Killantringan Lighthouse. The walk from the village to Killantringan is the start of the Southern Upland Way.
The village is a hive of activity throughout the year. Events include the RNLI Lifeboat Week, the Music Festival, farmer’s markets, craft fayres and vintage truck rallies.
