"A 1 night stay for work reasons. The pub and food are excellent with a good selection at a reasonable price. My room was comfortable but very cold due to the old leaking sash windows. All in all for the price it's ok for a 1 night stay. "

"Lovely welcome, clean, warm comfortable room. The only problem was, I was unable to eat at the premises on Monday evening this time of year. Apparently they start serving.evening meals again on Monday evenings come March time."

"We stayed in room 2 which was above the bar we had a lot of noise until it closed. Handy for the train station. Breakfast was a disappointment, it had been overcooked, bacon was hard egg yolk was hard and toast was like eating crackers"

"Lovely stay with excellent staff who were very welcoming and attentive during our one night stay. The accommodation was clean and well presented, although a little tired in places, which was absolutely fine for our stay. The bed was a small double, which was a little soft for my liking, although other reviews say the beds were great, so very much a personal preference. Don't let that put you off as out time here was great. The food is lovely in the pub, and as I said at the beginning, the staff...

"Staff really helpful and friendly, accommodation clean and comfortable, food really tasty and served quickly."

"Really lovely staff and the check in experience was very pleasant. The room was just about acceptable in terms of cleanliness but the toilet was not clean and still had used paper in it. The room and the surroundings were very tired and beyond worn in some places, especially the carpet on the stairs which was very dirty. As there was no breakfast, we could not comment on it. It’s such a shame because the setting is quite pleasant and it could be a lovely place to visit. "

"What a great find. I was working nearby and needed somewhere to stay. The room was lovely, everything i needed. Couldn't get the tv to work at first, i asked and they came up amd replaced the tv, fantastic service. I had a great sleep and a lovely shower in the morning. 100% recommended.."
