"We stayed for one night en route to a week’s holiday in Cornwall. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful, making sure our stay was a good one. We had reserved a table for our evening meal (along with our dog) and thoroughly enjoyed the food."

"I was pleasantly suprise by the size and comfort of the rooms for the price, which although quite basic, were adequate for a short stay and great value. The staff were very welcoming and helped with our cases. It was a great location for walking to the shuttle bus. The downsides were the shared bathroom, steep stairs and no parking on site. "

"Instantly felt very welcome! Shown around the beautiful room with excellent amenities, fresh coffee, milk, orange juice and cereal. A fresh breakfast was offered, but I kindly declined as I'm not the biggest breakfast eater. Very clean space and a lovely bathroom also. Highly recommended for both a business trip or for a couples night away."

"Had a wonderful one night stay with our dog. A lovely place to stay that is independently owned and regained many of its original features. Comfy bed with coffee machine as well as a kettle in the room. Guest lounge if you didn’t want to sit in your room. Breakfast was fabulous and set us up for the day. We will definitely be returning. "I went to book into the hotel and it was closed, dark and empty. I tried to contact them on both numbers provided. Nothing. No answer, no call back. I tried all day and it was so frustrating and worrying as we had no idea where we were going to sleep that night. I left it until 5pm and then found another place to stay. Thought that perhaps something had happened and they'd be back the following day and may offer the two nights from then. Next day arrived and same fiasco. The hotel we had booked...

"First, the owner Terri knows about hospitality. She gets it just right. Very helpful and knowledgable without being intrusive. She was especially helpful regarding local events and history. The room was beautifully appointed with delightful surprises everywhere. We were spoilt for choice at breakfast. And, the local pub was friendly and welcoming with excellent food options including a Curry night on a Thursday. "

"Nice, if all you want is a "basic" pub room for the night. There was a good basic pub menu. A respectable sprinkling of locals seem to consider it where they go. Not a lot of "olde worlde charm", but the sheets were clean, the plumbing modern and worked. Good HVAC provision. I'd stay here again. Seemed to be owner/operated- always a plus in my book, and the people we met tried to please."
