A pavilion at the highest point on the property, 65 feet, offers a panoramic view of Elizabeth Harbor, the neighboring islands, and open waters of the ocean. Looking down on the beach directly behind Kevalli House, you can see a very rare stromatolite reef, thought to be one of the oldest forms of life on the planet and known to exist in just a few places in the world. At low tide they form beautiful natural soaking pools along the shore, which can be quite a relaxing place to enjoy the crystal clear waters.
The Kevalli House Guest House is a newly renovated 2-bedroom, 1-bath house located on the eastern side of the property. The house provides a peaceful, private waterside living experience for long or short-term rental. It is ideal for a family of four with a large living space and full-sized kitchen, but is also a great spot for a couple's get-away. The house has an airy, screened-in wrap around porch and sun deck with closeup views of Exuma's famously crystal blue waters. There are several places to enjoy an evening of outdoor dining, a relaxing afternoon, or a morning meditation in the sun. Beautiful recycled cedar was used on the interior walls creating a casual island living feel and freshness.
Walkways from the guest house lead you through beautiful natural foliage to the pavilion and the covered beach deck and beach gate. On the very front of the property is a 200 foot long fixed dock which provides access to the cove. This protected body of water features two of the famous Bahamian blue holes. Mystery Cave is considered one of the best snorkeling spots in the area and is within snorkeling distance of the dock, or you may choose to use some of the kayaks or paddleboards that are available. Great snorkeling is also found 'ocean-side'. A floating dock provides access for small boats.
Kevalli House is a very eco-friendly choice. We are 99% solar-powered and meet our water needs by collecting rain water. We try to limit our impact on the environment as much as possible by using environmentally-friendly cleaning products, recycling, reusing, and reducing. Our paths are lit with solar-powered lights, fans and island breezes keep our rooms cool, and numerous windows catch evening breezes very effectively.
A 20 minute cab ride takes you from the airport to the government dock in George Town where the water taxi picks you up for the ride to Kevalli House. In George Town there are numerous businesses, including a well-stocked grocery store, car rental, boat rental, straw market, library, and a nice variety of restaurants. The Bahamas has over 300 sunny days a year, crystal clear warm water, and some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, one of which is right in the backyard of Kevalli House.
Kevalli House is the best choice for a tranquil island experience, with all of the comforts and natural amenities Exuma has to offer.
