This was our first stay at this property, but our third stay on Little Madawaska Lake. When we went to hunt for the property we normally rent, we were so sad to learn it was sold. The search ensued for another camp, but we didn’t know we would get so lucky with this gem of a find on the same lake (on a dead end, too, so no neighbors to the left! The owners made checking in so incredibly easy with a passcode lock so no meeting up for keys! Additionally, they left the fridge stocked with some bottled water and chip snack bags on the table. If you are staying here, don’t worry about forgetting condiments or coffee! The fridge is well-stocked with anything you need to dress a burger or a hotdog (or a steak)! The washer/dryer and dishwasher was a nice add as well. We used to have to travel into town to the laundromat when staying on the lake, so having these conveniences meant more time for us at the camp. There is also cable and internet. There are plenty of things to do on the property, but don’t forget to check out all of the Irving Woods dirt roads you can drive for endless hours while you search for moose, deer, rabbit, other animals and beautiful scenery. We also like to drive up to the Canadian border (about 40 min away) to visit the little shops and check out the river that runs between America and Canada. You’re also not far away from Presque Isle and Caribou for stores / gas. I highly recommend staying here if you are looking to get away to a gorgeous lakefront property with all the comforts of home! My only (minor) recommendation is to either add fans upstairs or a small air conditioning unit upstairs. On the warm days, it did get quite hot up there, so the kids ventured back downstairs to share the fan with the dogs in the living room. It did finally cool off outside on our last day so we could open the windows and let the cool air flow. We will most definitely rent again!
