Perfect home for hosting multiple families. Tons of en suite bathrooms and king-sized beds. Only ten minutes by car from Tanglewood and walking distance to Naum Keeg and Main Street shops. It’s really a gem.
My new wife and I decided to use this property to have our immediate families stay for our wedding, and it worked out very well! The hosts were responsive and easy to work with, and the home itself was everything we needed.
House is great for a group trip! Had a girls weekend here, enough rooms and beds for everyone (12) and close to all cute Berkshires towns. Place is huge and gorgeous. Plenty of space and gorgeous patio and fire pit.
We are seventy-something year old women who annually rent a special place for our 'retreat." Taggart House is so far the loveliest place that we have rented. It's clean, easy parking, sidewalks, restaurants, local attractions, good beds, let me again mention "clean" which is really important to us. En suite bathrooms for all. Just fabulous.
I stayed with my entire extended family (12 guests) in July 2023. The house is spacious, cozy, and beautiful. The hosts were quick to respond, accommodating, and incredibly kind before and during our stay. Our time at the Berkshires was made possible by this home. Each room was luxurious and comfortable. Could not recommend more!
We all enjoyed our stay and our favorite room was the
sun porch!
George was extremely cordial and helpful. Caitlin was
busy with her children so we did not get to meet her but she was very responsive answering our questions before
our stay.
Nice experience all around.
My family had a reunion of sorts at the Taggart house and our stay and the accommodations at the Taggart house were just wonderful. We congregated in the kitchen to make meals, we had dinner in the dining room, we worked on a puzzle by one of the fireplaces, and we watched family slides on the big TV in the family room. We had a very short walk to the Red Lion Inn/downtown and we had a 10 minute drive to Tanglewood. We highly recommend Taggart house to anyone looking to feel at home with their family & friends in the Berkshires, and we hope to stay here again in the future.

Amazing house, a few nits
The Taggart House was our home away from home for my sister-in-law's wedding. We shared the house with our extended family who traveled up from FL. The pictures on the website intrigued us and the house blew us away. It was beautifully appointed and luxurious, while at the same time warm and welcoming. Everything we could possibly need was at hand...but the owner was a little stingy with towels so be prepared to do some laundry. Overall amazing location for big groups, especially kids who will love the backyard lawn and treehouse.
Three generations stayed for 4 days over Christmas and this was a perfect house for relaxing, cooking, and catching up. Pros: The kitchen has any utensil you might need to cook, and every bedroom has an adjoining bathroom. The home is large enough for everyone to find some privacy, and the great room and dining room are large enough to easily accommodate all 15 of us. The heat was perfect. It was wonderful having 2 gas and 1 wood fireplace. The home is well-cared for and comfortable.
Things to keep in mind (not cons, just helpful hints): We have a 90-year-old father and this is an old home, so he needed to be aware of thresholds, tub/showers etc. It all worked out great, just fyi. 2) bring soap/bathroom amenities (not a surprise, just a reminder). Highly recommend as a very special place to stay and enjoy family/friends time together.
Property was beautiful and walkable to town. House is old but very nice. Large enough to accommodate 9 women! Loved sitting outside enjoying perfect weather! All in all had a wonderful experience!
Beautiful property with all the amenities. Our group of 12 relaxed on the sun porch, played bocce and cornhole in the huge backyard, and enjoyed the town of Stockbridge. The owners suggestion of dinner at Alta was much appreciated as we had a fabulous dinner there.
The communications with hosts leading up to and during stay was excellent. While we were there, they were very helpful with suggestions and shared with us the history of the property.
The house was perfect for our family celebration and all bedrooms were comfortable and inviting. The outside property was well suited to outdoor activities. The location could not have been better.
A couple of suggestions for improvement: the lighting in the sunroom and the media room was insufficient. Some amenities could be added such as soap for the showers and tubs, and additional toilet paper.
Our overall experience was very positive. We would stay there again and would recommend it to others.
A group of our college friends and their spouses who were in Stockbridge to celebrate my daughter’s wedding including her godparents. Such a treat to stay in the beautiful Taggart House. Location is perfection! Everyone loved their beautiful rooms. We had a lovely dinner at the big dining room table the first night- couldn’t have been better or more fun!
Our group of 10 friends really enjoyed this beautiful historic property. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space and yet wonderful, large areas where we could all gather together. We especially appreciated the location, so close to the center of Stockbridge, which afforded us the opportunity to take many walks around the area.
Fun and funky house! We are a group of 8 women who travel together so we need a lot of space which this place has!
It’s like a grand old museum
We had a a great time
The Taggart House exceeds expectations. It is shipshape, fully equipped with responsive and friendly hosts/owners. Its historic but also great fun for a group with lots of spaces for meals, meal prep, socializing, TV watching, outdoor dining, fire pit etc. Its a memory maker for all who stay here.
