Nestled in the mountains and right on the waterfront, the location provided us with breathtaking views and easy access to nature activities like hiking and fishing. The proximity to Custer State Park—just a five-minute drive away—allowed us to easily explore its stunning landscapes and view the native wildlife. We also enjoyed quick trips to Sylvan Lake and the monumental Mount Rushmore, both within a short drive, adding a mix of serene beauty and historical awe to our visit.The property itself is wonderfully accommodating for families, with a kitchen fully stocked with all the necessities, a playground for kids, and a game room that was a hit with all ages. We were particularly impressed with the range of amenities that catered to every need—from a well-maintained garden and an inviting outdoor area complete with a barbecue grill and firepit for evening gatherings, to the comforting indoors equipped with a smart TV and a variety of games. The inclusion of a washing machine, dryer, and a fully equipped office space was incredibly convenient, ensuring that all our needs were met, whether for leisure or occasional work tasks.Safety was clearly a priority, with a carbon monoxide detector, smoke detector, fire extinguisher, and first aid kit all readily accessible, which gave us peace of mind throughout our stay. "This property was super fun with lots of LOTR references. It was very close to Custer and Custer State Park and great to serve as a base. Facility was clean and sauna view was top notch. A warning - if you are over 6’-4”, note there is a fair amount of headbangers in the location and shower/door thresholds are low."

"We took our family to the monuments for fall break. The cabin was great. The location was wonderful. Lots of wildlife. There was a fire ban, so we don’t get to use the wonderful fire pit! My husband loved the sauna. The only negative was the WiFi. We used. Hotspot and things worked out."

"We took our kids here on a family vacation and we all loved it. The house was it great shape and had so many activities to keep the kids entertained. They were ages 9-13, and never got bored. They explored the creek, went hiking in the Black Hills National Forest right out the back door, and played many of the games the host provided. The highlight for our daughter (and also the boys) was getting to see Penelope and Ferdinand. The house is very close to so many outdoor attractions like Stockade Lake, Bismarck Lake, and Custer State Park. We always had many choices on outdoor activities. The house had everything we needed, as well as a great stock of coffee. Several mornings I took some coffee outside to watch the peaceful morning while the kids slept in a bit. Thank you for making our vacation perfect and memorable! "
