5/5 Excellent
Historical charm
"This little hotel is a nice step back in time to the turn of the last century. Everything is quite simple, but provided for. There's a front desk cage that isn't occupied, but you just call and a friendly person will check you in.
Upstairs, there's a nice Fennimore history book, along with the "Coffee Shop" that has what you need to make coffee in your room, along with tea. Also provided are earplugs in case you're staying street-side (Highway 61). I didn't use the earplugs as the traffic dies down into the evening and night time. I was street-side and when I heard it, it was more like the quiet hum of car going by.
The rooms aren't the generic hotel rooms you'd stay in within a city or suburb, uniquely old hotel. The only out-of-place accoutrement (other than modern basics like TV, microwave, coffeemaker) is the chuegy box on top of the toilets. Everything else gives a nice feel for 1905.
If you're passing through town and need a place to stay, this is a good choice."
