Stylish contemporary lodge on working deer farm, sleeps 10-13

The Lodge is a unique blend of Scots/Nordic architecture and design, the perfect holiday home for a get together with friends and family.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need and want, with a range style cooker. Enjoy the fruits of your labour in the large dining room with a log burning fire, it’s the perfect cosy environment to toast the evening and have some fun. If you want someone else to do the cooking look at 'Chef & Shepherd Suppers to offer a private dining experience.

In the Lodge there are 5 bedrooms which sleeps 10-13 (1x Super King/Twin en-suite with 2x single sofa beds, 3x Super-King/Twin en-suite, 1x King/twin with private toilet and shower room). 2 child mats, a camp bed ideally for a child, and 2 cots for infants can be placed in a number of the rooms. The nights are still with just the sound of the owls in the distance. Please go to the accommodation tab for more details about room layouts. There is a further double sofa bed in the dining room.

The Lodge has 2 lounge areas, one on the ground floor and a larger lounge upstairs which can be accessed via 2 staircases.

Step outside onto the patio, which surrounds the Lodge, and enjoy your breakfast al fresco, and say good morning to the wildlife. Afterwards take a stroll down to the loch, through the woods, or wander through the Christmas trees (wellington boots required), go and say hello to the resident sheep or deer that Alick farms. You might even see him with his 6 working sheep dogs Patch, Moss and Ben, Kim, Tess, and Meg. Due to the elevated position of the estate, at the end of every wee walk you will be rewarded with spectacular views of Ben Ledi, Ben Lomond, Ben Venue, Ben Vorlich the Campsie Fells or the Gargunnock hills. The views are truly epic and you forget that you are not far from civilisation but yet feel completely secluded, immersed in nature and tranquillity.

If you fancy going further afield, Callander, the Trossachs and Loch Lomond are all just minutes away on the doorstep, or do some sight seeing in nearby Stirling, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth. When you get back, soak away any aches and pains in the hot tub, If you want to have a more rustic meal, venture across the garden and get the wood burning on the bespoke built Pizza Oven and BBQ where there is plenty room for a banquet to be cooked over the flames.

Once the day is over you will be sure to get a sound night sleep in the super comfy beds with sumptuous linens, tried and tested by our guests at the 5 star Woodcroft House and receive high praise. The Lodge together sleeps 11 adults, 2 toddlers and 2 infants.

Wonderful place to stay.
The lodge is in a beautiful area, secluded with just deer for neighbours. Claire and Aleck were great hosts, very friendly. The lodge was stunning. Each room was well decorated and cosy. Very comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms. The log burning fires in the each lounge were just perfect at night. The outdoor bbq and pizza oven were a great addition along with the hot tub. We all loved staying here for a long weekend. I would happily stay at Muir Estate again.

Beautiful, lovely, relaxing, and warm
Outstanding! The hosts, Claire and Alick, could not have been more accommodating and warm. The dinners they prepared for us were phenomenal - as good as you would get at any top scale restaurant. The property is even better than what you see in the photos! We used the wood fired hot tub, fire pit and the outside grill with no problems at all. The beds were extremely comfortable. Inside is accommodating and warm with spacious living areas, dining room and kitchen. We would stay there again in a second. Lovely towns nearby and a great jump off point for the Highlands, Edinburgh and Glasgow. I can't say enough positive things about Muir Estate. Thank you Claire and Alick for your efforts!
