Only 4 miles from the historic city of Stirling, yet hidden away in a truly magnificent and peaceful rural scenery means a perfect location for year-round holidays. Osprey Hideaways overlooks the owners’ own 120-acre loch where ospreys can be seen feeding most days in season. 300ft high cliffs frame the far side of the water, making the views genuinely stunning. All the cottages are furnished to a very high boutique standard and provide excellent accommodation for couples or family groups. A welcome pack is provided including a bottle of bubbly so that you can relax as soon as you arrive. There is also lovely linen, towels, bathrobes - and even slippers! To top this off is the honesty room where you can borrow books, a huge selection of DVDs, games, toys and visitor information. The owners live on site and are there to help as much (or as little!) as you want.

Each cottage has been named after birds that are regularly seen flying overhead, and are perfectly located to enjoy the best of both worlds at any time of the year - the peace of the countryside and the amenities and activities of the city. As well as being only 4 miles from Stirling city centre, it’s only 5 miles to the motorway junction for surprisingly quick journey times to Edinburgh, Perth and Glasgow and all their facilities. Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park is 20 miles away and the mountains to the north or the beautiful sea lochs to the west are all within a 2 hour drive. There are numerous golf courses locally and even the Gleneagles course is only 35 minutes’ away. For walks the choice is endless and one of the best cliff-top walks in central Scotland starts right at the cottages! Stirling is a vibrant but compact university city offering wonderful attractions, including an incredible castle, the amazing Wallace Monument, the historic Church of the Holy Rude and even ghost tours. There are restaurants to suit all tastes, swimming pools, sport centres, multiplex cinema, theatre, museum, pubs and shops. The best bit is that Stirling is very much a year round destination. The perfect place for the perfect holiday! Shops, pubs and restaurants 4 miles.

Once again we have had a superb week in this wonderful cottage.
Once again we have had a superb week in this wonderful cottage. We discovered these cottages around 6 years ago and have just had our 4th stay. During this time of Covid-19 we were confident, through past experience, that the cottage would have been thoroughly cleaned before our arrival. We therefore had no qualms booking a last minute holiday in Kestrel cottage. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We absolutely loved the beautiful cottage and it’s surroundings. There was a lovely welcome pack on arrival and clear, personalised guidance on everything we would potentially need ask about. We walked the trail around the reservoir, visited the (closed) sights in Stirling including the Wallace Monument and Stirling Castle and visited nearby Bridge of Allan. Watching the sunrise was also a highlight. We would definitely recommend to friends! Thank you for a great trip. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We would highly recommend these cottages. They are stylish, warm and tastefully decorated. The host George provides an amazing welcome pack and is very knowledgeable and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The views of the loch from the house are fabulous a lovely changing picture to look out on. The location feels quite remote but is just a few miles from a Stirling a great place to visit. Well placed for visiting Glasgow, Edinburgh, Falkirk and so many other places. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Excellent comfortable cottage in a beautiful setting. Very well equipped. Helpful host when needed without being intrusive. One of the best self catering cottages we have been in. Definitely the best welcome package of tea, coffee, milk, butter, cheese and even a bottle of Cava in the fridge!

This was our second stay at this small complex of five holiday cottages on the outskirts of Stirling
This was our second stay at this small complex of five holiday cottages on the outskirts of Stirling - our first was back in 2014. We were recognised by a fellow holiday making couple who were there for their 19th stay and remembered us from 2014! This in itself should be recommendation enough to stay at the Osprey Hideaway complex. Our cottage this time was the 1-bed Kestrel Cottage with views overlooking the North Third Reservoir from the kitchen, dining area and bedroom. The quality of the complex has not diminished in the past 5 years. This really is our benchmark against which we will continue to compare other holiday lets. Osprey Hideaway is a mere stone's throw from the lovely city of Stirling, itself an excellent central location for exploring the Glasgow/Edinburgh corridor, the Trossachs and even out as far as the East and West coasts. We had a road trip on one day to the Isle of Bute, returning via lochs Fyne, Long and Lomond. Set in the hills above Stirling, the complex is a tranquil retreat of two and one bedroom cottages in a U around a central courtyard. Kestrel Cottage provided us with luxury accommodation for the week. A fully equipped kitchen enabled us to cook a meal for friends who were caravanning in the area and the fast Wi-Fi connectivity allowed us to stream a re-run of the Tattoo that we had seen with the same friends, the previous Friday evening. We fully recommend Osprey Hideaway as a base for a self-catering holiday and hope to return much sooner than the five year gap between visits one and two!
