Wonderful spot for we "friends for life" to have a vacation together.
I am part of a group of about 15 people who get together every other year to catch up and enjoy each other's company. As we get older comfort as well as a unique location matters. Willow Lodge met both requirements. I loved the location, loved the Lodge, loved being able to sit by the pool and catch up, eat excellent meals together, and then retire to our respective comfortable rooms. The owner and property manager were friendly, fair, and responsive. Highly recommend and hope to return.

Stinson Beach is one of our favorite places and it was such a treat for our family (3 generations) to spend time together there in this truly exceptional, beautiful home. Here's what we especially loved: the views, the gardens, the short stroll to the wonderful beach, the heated pool, the inglenook with its fireplace, and the secret speakeasy room where we gathered for cocktails served up by my son-in-law while the kids played darts (under supervision!). We also enjoyed learning about the colorful history of the lodge, its visitors, and Willow Camp in general. The home was very comfortable, with good beds (super important to our group) and lots of space for the children to play. The property managers were totally responsive to our needs and requests. We hope to come back!

Soooooo relaxing
Every couple of years my San Diego family has a vacation with my Kansas/Iowa/Nebraska family. We’ve travelled quite a few places over the last 20 years and think that this may be our favorite. The house was beautiful and rustic. This history of the house was fun to read. We would have coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening either on the patio over looking the ocean or out by the pool. We could walk to the Parkside Cafe each day for pastries and baguettes. I think I ate an entire baguette each day by myself. Oops! The owners were quick to respond when I had questions. I would definitely go back and I was sad to leave.

What a view!
Absolutely delightful stay. We can't tell what highlight we enjoyed more; walking our dog on the beach at sunrise while drinking a Parkside Cafe latte, or sipping on a glass of wine while watching the sunset next to a crackling fire in the great room fireplace. Beautiful, warm, spacious home with well stocked kitchen and bathrooms, comfortable beds (the primary bedroom has its own wood burning fireplace which we used every night), lots of activities on the grounds, fun (and warm) pool deck, easy access to the beach. And most importantly, the owners were very responsive to our questions and needs - thank you! We will definitely come back.

Wow! Amazing! Wonderful! Want to go back!
A group of us celebrated my 50th birthday here. The entire weekend everyone kept saying "OMG, I love this place." "This place is amazing." "Let's buy this house." The size of the house accommodated our group perfectly. We had 13 people in total, 10 adults and 3 children along with 3 dogs. It felt like there was always something to discover with this property. The grounds were so impressive and fun. The pool was literally as hot as a hot tub so we all swam each day!  We had amazing weather and walked down to the beach and strolled along the shore finding so many "small and sweet" sand dollars.  The children actually swam in the ocean because, you know, they are kids after all. My friends made breakfast, lunch, and dinner for our crew in the stocked kitchen.  They made it seem easy. We spent Friday at sunset with wine on the deck and then retreated to the speakeasy for the evening laughing until we cried, Saturday evening we watched the sunset again and then had a fire in the epic fireplace and enjoyed the living room. The house afforded us lots of privacy. Everyone kept losing each other! We couldn't hear others when they woke up in the morning. The rooms had decent separation so you didn't feel like you were disturbing others. The beds were comfy as well. I love that they have Sonos that we connected to easily. Music is very important to our crew and the pianos were fun too! Everyone walked into town to go to the amazing market. I wish we could have stayed longer and we've already discussed going back again soon. The owners, Lovisa and Steve, were lovely and so very responsive. I had more questions than normal due to the recent fires and power outages.  In a prior review, someone mentioned that a person lives in the house on the first floor. I'm overly sensitive to disrupting others so I hesitated with my rental originally. I know now that it was a non-issue. I can't believe someone else lives there. You can't see any evidence of it other than a car that doesn't belong to your crew. I never saw this person or heard them. The house seemed so soundproof, not sure if he heard us or not. It felt like the entire spot was ours alone. I did see (as we were leaving) a hairless cat outside wearing a coat which delighted me so! I'm a cat lover! It was truly a perfect celebration weekend for me with so many memories that I will always cherish. This is a very special rental. You'd be lucky to stay here. Do it! Then tell everyone how epic your time was!

We thoroughly enjoyed our short visit to Stinson Beach. The location of the house (a short walk to the beach), and the amenities of the house were fantastic. We were a group of 13 and lovely to be able to sit around the large dining room all together.

Splendid house and setting! Perfect for large family Christmas!
There were 11 of us under one roof, including 3 small children. The house was very accommodating, from an enormous, beautiful Living Room, to a well appointed kitchen and lovely dining room. Each bedroom had wonderful furniture and linens. The house was very clean and well cared for, with just enough personal touch to make it inviting and cozy. The grandchildren loved being in the heated pool after ocean adventures. We shared yummy meals, lots of board games, but could wander off for privacy if need be. I am thrilled we rented the house and even added an extra night. Every family member commented on how perfect the setting was and great the house was also. I would return in a moment for another magical vacation.

Perfect for our family gathering.
This unique and creatively furnished home was perfect for our family, which includes our three children, their spouses, two grandsons and two dogs. We did spend time at the beach, which is easily accessed from this beautiful property which includes a stunning garden, although the majority of our time was spent on the property. The pool and deck setting, with an ocean view, would be hard to top. We did rent kayaks one afternoon and had a great experience viewing seals and birds in the Bolinas Lagoon. We prepared several large meals in the well-equipped kitchen, although we did eat at the Parkside restaurant a few times. The restaurant serves creative and delicious food and is walkable from the house. There is also a small coffee/espresso station in the same complex that opens early. Lovisa and Steve were very generous hosts and were available if there were any issues or questions. Everything was in perfect working order and there are too many extras in the house to list. I loved the luxurious bedding and the house was spotless when we arrived. Thanks for sharing your home for a memorable weekend and look forward to a return visit.

Something for everyone
This was our first stay, but we would love to come back. The location is great, near the beach and with three hiking trails that start within a few blocks of the lodge (feels more like a lodge than a house). It is quiet and there are lots of spots on the property where one could get away for awhile. There are also two big rooms where the family can play games and chat (room with fireplace) and dine together. Plus lots of patio space above and below the house. The lodge has a lot of charm and we felt very comfortable there. This worked out great for a family reunion with 11 adults and one child

Charming and spectacular at the same time
Pictures will tell how pretty this home and its gardens are. The owners furnish the house as if they were living there. All-Clad cookware, soaps, bundles of kindling and logs for fireplace and fire pit. Plenty of towels for the home and beach. Extremely responsive owners. Great experience.

Magical!
We had a magical gathering of 17 friends from across the country at Willow Camp and Carriage House. I cannot think of any better place we could have stayed. The houses and grounds are so beautiful. The huge fireplace backlit our late night conversations. The wonderful kitchen supported a house full of foodies, cooking gourmet meals and sitting down at the dining table that accommodated us all. The house is so unique, steeped in history you can't help but be amazed. One wishes they could have dropped into the house in the 1920's when there was a party. Steve and Lovisa are great hosts. We had a few questions and they were addressed right away. Now all we can talk about is what date we can return to this amazing house!

Beautiful and sprawling family-friendly house and gardens
This is a lovely property that served all the needs of our large extended family. Kitchen and pantry were easy to use, each bedroom had its own character, and the living room with views of the ocean, leather sofas and chairs and a fireplace, was grand and cozy at the same time. The gardens and access to the beach were wonderful. Very responsive owners as well.
