Close to the ski mountain with sweeping views across Mt. Werner, South Valley, and the Flat Tops, this home is the perfect Steamboat family retreat. The chalet backs onto a large open area with access to a trail system where you can walk or bike to the ski mountain, the Yampa River, or even all the way to downtown. With frequent visits from moose, elk, fox, and other wildlife, you'll feel the magic of a mountain retreat, with the convenience of being close to everything Steamboat has to offer.
With vaulted ceilings and a large open layout, this home is perfect for large family or friends to gather and enjoy quality time together. From the high-end gourmet kitchen to the large island and dining room, you'll have plenty of space to create family memories. With a second family room downstairs, you can easily have adult time upstairs while the kids play or watch a movie downstairs.
This is one of the few homes in Steamboat with both radiant in floor heat AND cold central A/C for those warm summer days.
Your family will also enjoy our private covered hottub, large deck, and grill. During the winter, there's ample space for kids to play in the snow and sled and during the summer, the hike/bike trail goes through our backyard.
The home has a perfect multi-family setup across two floors.
The main floor:
- Large open floor plan with Kitchen, Dining, and Great Room all flowing together and enjoying huge views of the ski area.
- This floor also has the Master bedroom and spa-like bathroom.
- The second bedroom with a queen bed and an en-suite full bathroom are also located on this floor.
- A separate half bathroom is also located on this level.
The second floor:
- Bedroom 3 is the bunk room with twin bunks with an attached bathroom with a shower.
- Bedroom 4 has another king bed with views towards the ski mountain
- Bedroom 5 has a massive queen over queen bunk.
- The fourth bathroom is also located on this floor between bedrooms 4 and 5
- Second family room/tv room. This room also has a desk area in case you need to get work done and a foosball table when its time to play.
- Access to the hot tub is from this floor.
- Access to the heated garage is on this level.
Guests will have full access to the property except for locked owner's closets.

Our home is centrally located near the Steamboat Ski Area in a residential neighbor just outside the "condo zone." This means you can enjoy quiet evenings and still have easy access to city shuttles, shopping, dining, and grocery stores.
We are approximately a 10 minute walk to the free Steamboat Shuttle that will take you to the ski mountain, downtown, grocery, library, etc.
Driving to the free ski area parking takes approximately 3-6 mins. We recommend parking in the Free Meadows Parking lot and taking the Shuttle to the Base area. There is also a Free Knoll Parking lot. While that lot is closer to the base area you actually walk further to the base area because there is no shuttle from that lot.
Uber and Lyft are available as well.
We can also arrange for shuttle service to and from the front door for an additional fee.
COVID-19 safety. We are taking the current situation very seriously and have implemented additional safety and sanity measures in our homes. We have always been particular about cleaning and keeping our homes in top condition (you'll see this attention to detail mentioned in a number of guest reviews).
We require renters to be at least 28 years old (the responsible party).
This is a family-friendly home and neighborhood.
The entire property is non-smoking including decks, patios and driveway.
We do ask guests to respect a 9pm-9am "quiet hours" as a courtesy to our full-time neighbors.
The property is not available for Sports Teams, hosting large parties or events, or having more than 13 registered guests.
The home is pet-free. Please notify us in advance if you have an ADA Service Animal that will be in your party. We follow ADA Service Animal Guidelines which require the following:
- Confirmation that the animal is trained for medical assistance
- What tasks the animal is specifically trained to do
- The service animal must always be with and under the control of the owner. The service animal may not be left unattended in the home at any time. We recommend you contact any restaurants or activities you have planned and ensure they can also accommodate the service animal.
- Please note that there is a driveway Nest Cam and decibel meter on the property.
- Any guest-initiated cancelations and resulting refunds shall be net of any non-refundable processing fees deducted by any third-party payment processing services. Refunds are limited to the amount received net of those payment processing fees.
