This farmstay has been all we could wish and hope for: the peaceful country-side surroundings, a very comfortable home, a great size fenced backyard for the furry family members to safely run around in, the perfect spot to get away and wind down, close to a variety of attractions and places to visit, if that’s what you are after to entertain yourself. It’s a good home base to visit the surrounding wineries.
The house is clean and very well appointed, the owners have gone through a lot of thought and effort to add extra touches to make the house a home for their guests. In the colder months, the open fireplaces add to the cosy atmosphere. The location is quiet, peaceful and relaxing, mostly only interrupted by the sounds of the farm animals and the local birdlife around us. The pups couldn’t wish for a better backyard to run around and play in, and explore. And even better: they are allowed indoors! (but of course, off the furniture!). They made new friends too: Chester and Velvet, the gorgeous ponies in the back paddock, who love to be fed carrots (hint!).
A few tips: the general entrance to the house is actually the backdoor, while the front door takes you through a bedroom into the house. Mobile phone reception is patchy, depending on your provider, but we found that in the back right hand corner of the backyard all mobiles can get reception. Water supply is from the rainwater tank only, so conserving as much water as possible is the key message, especially during dry spells. The 1 bathroom may be a little challenge when you have a party of 8 staying, but we are sure it’s worth the consideration when weighing up the many positives of this accommodation. It’s no surprise that they get many return visitors year after year, and we may even join that group.
