ACCESS:
Prior to your arrival, you’ll receive a unique access code for a seamless and secure self-check-in experience. You will have the entire cabin to yourself.
NEIGHBORHOOD:
Stanardsville and the Lydia Mountain area are at the transition from the Piedmont region of central VA into the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and Shenandoah National Park. The cottage is at about 1000 feet elevation, so it's spared from the worst of winter cold, but still close enough to easily access waterfall hikes and Skyline Drive. Central VA is also well known for wine country, independent cattle farms, horse stables, and some of the best antique malls of the east coast.
GETTING AROUND
Navigating the nearby area is relatively straightforward. While the cabin's secluded location provides ultimate tranquility, you will find that most amenities and attractions are within a short drive. We recommend bringing or renting a car for the greatest flexibility. Nature's Edge is a gravel road with a fairly steep hill that is passable by small/medium cars in winter, but know your own limits, watch for ice, and drive safely. If you're not used to driving on narrow dirt or gravel roads, 4WD or all-wheel drive is encouraged.
