"Penny Hedge is a friendly, clean , comfortable little hotel. We have stayed here a few times. The breakfast is reasonably priced and of good quality. The food in the bar is good on an evening. All the staff are very friendly and helpful in all areas . The rooms are very clean and comfortable . The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are clean and adequate. We will always stay here when coming gif a break in Whitby and surrounding areas. "

"A lot of building work going on so somewhat noisy and dusty and beautiful panorama restaurant out of use these are the bad points but the good points are the staff especially Ben our server has n the restaurant who was excellent as was the food we love this place and the views are amazing we will certainly be back yet again to see how it is when the renovations are complete"

"Lovely little cottage and perfect location - unfortunately the first two nights were freezing but that is nothing to do with the host!! BUT more wood would be good in bad weather. This was the perfect cute cottage and I'd love it to live in full time!!"
