Wonderful getaway - beautiful home with room for 11. Meals on the veranda overlooking the water, plenty of pool time, and a private beach that was beyond gorgeous. We all want to return!

Wonderful family stay
We enjoyed the “Little Taj by the Sea”. It was very comfortable and accommodated our family well. The little pool was a good spot to relax and cool off. We made many trips down the path to the ocean and that beach was delightful (wish the path was in better condition). Sitting on the balcony early in the morning and at sunset was absolutely the best! The host Solomon Kabuka, was very accommodating. The only negative would be that the photos online were a bit dated - but that is really minor. Thanks for a great holiday.

Abi Beach is amazing
The best part of this house is the access to the semi private Abi Beach. The path was a hike, but fine for our teens and us. The view off the front porch was amazing and we enjoyed our mornings watching the boats go by. Marcus was so kind and helpful. Best family vacation!!

Little Taj by the Sea
We were met at the property by Marcus who was amazing. The property was beautiful and we even got married on the outside deck overlooking the Caribbean. Abi Beach was beautiful and we had it all to ourselves except on a couple days when the cruise ships were in port. All in all it was a memorable vacation and I would highly recommend Little Taj by the see. We hope to get back soon.

Large & Lovely
The house was as described! Google maps got us there perfectly (Apple maps not so much) No AC in July in the main part of the house made things hot but that’s to be expected, and made stepping into the AC’d bedrooms feel amazing! We very much enjoyed our stay, there were 12 of us and we had plenty of room!

Beautiful picturesque view, excellent proximity to shopping but also tucked away
It was a pleasure from the beginning of our experience with the owner to the end of our vacation. Both owner and support staff made sure we had what we needed and treated us like close friends instead of renters. The house is perfect for a large group with it's 5 bedrooms; all with their own bathrooms. We all made treasured memories there this past week and are very thankful for it.

Family Memories at Little Taj
We had an amazing week staying at this property. Our group was all adults and the rooming situation was ideal. Great location between Frenchman's Bay and Red Hook. We enjoyed many mornings and evenings on the porch watching ships in and out of the port, in addition to many day trips sightseeing. Owners happened to visit during our stay and took time to ensure we had what we needed. Regarding reservations- All correspondence prior to trip was addressed quickly and completely. Thank you again for the hospitality.

50th Anniversary Trip
We had our children and grandchildren together to celebrate our 50th Anniversary. The house was as beautiful as the pictures. There was plenty of room for the 12 of us. We made many trips on the path to the beach. Some of the grandkids had never snorkled. They had so much fun seeing all the different kinds of fish. The location was wonderful. Very quite. We took many pictures of the incredible sunrises and sunsets. Marcus, the property manager, was available when ever we needed anything. Our 10 day stay was everything we had hoped for. We would highly recommend this property.

Bachelor trip 2023
The host and property manager were beyond amazing to deal with. The view was breathtaking. Very convenient to everything we did. They gave us ideas and anything we had a question about within mins we had a response. We used the patio and pool area a lot when we were at the house. The house has all the essentials you need for a friend trip or your family. Our trip was one for the books! We went for a bachelor trip and there were so many things for us to do. I highly recommend taking a boat tour. We used Nate’s Charters, our tour guide Patrick was awesome. From snorkeling to showing us around the islands.

Trip of a Lifetime!
Everything was incredible about this property! We went for my bachelorette party and had the trip of a lifetime. The listing was 100% accurate, the views were unbeatable, the property was clean, the instructions for check in/out, directions to the house and other information was clearly written and well communucated. Marcus, the property manager is an absolute dream and was always helpful and accommodating. I can't say enough good things about the locals, who are all absolute gems. I would absolutely stay at this property when I visit St. Thomas again, and hope it's sooner rather than later! Thank you so much for such a magical stay!

Attentive Host/ Amazing Property
Our family was returning to St. Thomas for the burial of a dear relative. We needed a place to stay as well as a venue for the repast because we knew many islanders would come to pay their respects. I can't say enough about how well Solomon took care of our family. The space was amazing. The view alone was therapeutic and healing. Solomon checked on us throughout our stay to make sure that we had everything we needed. No request was problematic or went unanswered. He is a very caring and attentive host. I look forward to returning under happier circumstances.

Property Burned Before Our Stay
I can't disclose too much information at this time about our stay, but there were major electrical and AC issues upon our arrival. Traumatically, the property burned while we were inside within our first hours of arriving. As we are still working with the property owner to rectify the situation, all I can say is I was beyond displeased.

Things to know
The Good Absolutely beautiful views! Pool was great! Beds were great also The Bad There’s no way you can find this place even though the property manager who actually lives there also swears it’s easy. Trust me I went with a group of 6 and all of us were baffled at how hard it is to find. GPS does not work. Not their fault Found 2 big dead cockroaches when we walked in. For the price I paid we only get 1 role of paper towels. There’s another family that lives underneath I think? All over all the stay was OK but I’ve been to the island 4 other times and found better accommodations for the price I paid. Everyone had a great time but I will not be staying again.

Beautiful location lacked cleanliness
The home is in an excellent location it is spacious and the views are fantastic. The home did lack cleanliness I took pictures of the fans which were covered fully in dust, under the couch was all the prior guests left behind items, the sheets were stained & we woke to many dead roaches daily. I lived on the island prior and while I know roaches are in the tropics (I live on the water) they seem to be coming from under the door that is in the kitchen that must lead to another unit. The washer and dryer gave us problems repeatedly and we had to have them serviced but it was addressed in a timely manner. Overall the place is suitable you just expect that it won’t be very clean & pack Clorox wipes & wash every dish before using.

Amazing Property with Incredible Views!
Dr. Solomon was a great host! He had a manager pick us up at the ferry terminal and take us directly to the house. Which was great because it is a little difficult to find and the cab drivers really have no idea how to find it. So best thing is to find a cab driver that you trust and get their number and call them when you need a ride or groceries. Cab rides I found to be between $10-$15 US each way to and from town due to it's distance and difficulty to find. The property had the most incredible views and a secret pathway to an awesome secluded beach and bar run by a couple friendly Americans! 1 caveat is that there were quite a lot of mosquitoes and ants running around, which is probably due to the property being a bit secluded in the forest. Anyways, it was wonderful to have stayed here and will definitely plan on staying here again in the future! Mike

Great Vacation...but.....
I will start with this property had many of the things we were looking for; a great location, beautiful views and lots of space for 2 families to spread out. We are an adventurous group who likes to spend more time visiting all that the island has to offer, and less time in the house. After spending a week in the house, I am somewhat glad that was the case. Simply put, maintenance in this house has been clearly ignored for quite some time and it was quite disappointing how extensive it was. - Transition step from wood steps to the kitchen is broken and exposes large nails right where you need to step. - multiple wood planks in the steps have gapped and slip easily. - 2 broken dining room chairs - 2 broken patio chairs - Broken floor tiles - Broken door handle and water dispenser on the Fridge - Massive crack in the kitchen island and a chunk taken out of the countertop - Broken / inoperable slider door handle - Multiple towel holders in each of 3 bedrooms are broken and/or completely missing - The sink in the bathroom between rooms 4 and 5 is broken and leaks any time it is used. - The directions to the house are confusing and should be re-written with distances. - The Wifi and password provided upon arival and in the guest book are outdated and incorrect Again, we had a great vacation and loved the pool and the views, however for the price we paid and the pride with which the owner spoke about the property, we expected the home to be much nicer and much more cared for.

Spring Break Family Vacation
This property has amazing views of Frenchman's Bay with lots of outdoor living space including a small swimming pool, ocean front veranda, and 180 degree views of beautiful Frenchman's Bay. The house is clean and the bedrooms are roomy and nicely furnished. The house is a typical island house that has been remodeled, with added rooms and space. As with most island homes, the water pressure is not very good so don't expect a steaming hot shower. I recommend the owner invest in kitchen items like can opener, wine opener, and nicer appliances like newer coffee maker, etc. The dishwasher was broken during our stay, but fortunately we had a small group so I was able to work around washing dishes. The house is very inviting with nice touches like beach towels and sunscreen available to guest. I feel house is priced right for the amenities offered, and the owner manages the size of the house available to renters, by locking bedrooms that are not being used based on the number of people in each party. If you are looking for luxury, expect to pay more. But if you would like to rent a nice home that's a value for your family, this house is a greart option. The property manager, Marcus, was very nice and was always available for questions and assistance in anyway. I would recommend this house if you want to rent a house in St. Thomas, "local style". The house is also greatly located to shopping and restaurants.

Our family of five stayed at this property in December, 2015 and would highly recommend it to others
This property has a beautiful view, is about a 10 minute drive from downtown, so it is quiet but close to everything. The home is large, very clean, and had 5 bedrooms and baths, and a nice kitchen, so it lends itself to a larger group (we have three grown children who enjoyed their own bedrooms). There is a private beach you can walk to via a rough natural path in about 3-5 minutes. The owner of the property was wonderful, making sure to meet us at the airport so we could find the property after dark, and checking with us regularly to see that we had everything we needed. This was our first time to St. Thomas, but over 4 days we enjoyed a Snuba activity at Coral World (which the kids liked very much) and a kayak tour at the edge of St. John (we needed to rent a car to make the drive, but the cove was beautiful and the guide very encouraging/supportive). On St. Thomas, we booked a dinner at Havana Blue (part of the Marriott) and the view/ambience/food were so wonderful we went back the next night. We also booked a dinner at the Banana Grille. Food was not as spectacular but the view of island at night (especially cruise ships all lit up as they departed) was great. Would also recommend The Old Stone Farmhouse (beautiful setting) and the Sun Dog Café on St. Johns. Tips: we learned you can't take a rental car from St. Thomas on the ferry to St. Johns (have to rent a different car there), and grocery prices are high (can be as much as 50% higher than in the US). Might be a good idea to avoid areas where cruise ship tourists will be on the day the ships are in town. We were really glad we rented a car as we were able to explore the whole island.

One of the best views on the island
OK, 1st the owner and property manager are amazing!! It was a pleasure working with them both. The view from this house are amazing. The house is very spacious with plenty of room for 9 adults. The house is well stocked in the kitchen with cookware and utensils. The bathrooms are stocked with TP and Towels. The refrigerator is big enough to handle all your food. Ok, now for the not so good, but to be fair not the fault of the owner or the property. St Thomas is a VERY hilly island, so please be prepared for some uncomfortable driving to and from the property. The driveway will scare you! 2nd. the main house has no central AC system. What that means is even with all the doors open, it is very hot inside the house during the day. So if you think you will be hanging out all day at the house, think again, it is to hot and muggy during the day. The bedrooms do have AC, but given the heat, they all need box fans to help cool the rooms down. Sitting outside in the morning and evenings is the best. One of the bedrooms has very little privacy, it has huge sliding glass doors that open directly into the living room. This is not the room for an intimate couple to stay in (lol) Unless they install some very serious privacy curtains. The pool is nice, but the water is very warm from the tropical sun beating down on it all day long. Over all the house truly has the best views on the island

Luxurious Home with Amazing Caribbean Views!
We were most warmly welcomed to the island by our host. From the moment we arrived until our departure he went out of his way to be kind and generous. The lovely home he built, Little-Taj-by-the-Sea, is in a tranquil neighborhood with first rate views of the Caribbean Sea. The expansive decks are a great place to observe the cruise ships coming and going. A drive to town takes 10 minutes or less with access to groceries, shopping and dining. We were pleased to find healthy and organic food available on the island which made it possible to eat like we are accustomed to. Our favorite beach we visited lots of times is the secluded one just 5 minutes away via a hiking trail down from the house. Of all the beaches we explored on St. Thomas, we saw the most shells here by far. You can also take a walk to Bluebeard’s Beach & Resort which is about 10 minutes the other direction. Snorkeling in the Virgin Islands is the best we have experienced…we snorkeled every day but one! This home has a well equipped kitchen, spacious rooms with lots of architectural details, expansive decks and gorgeous views. You are on the top level with lots of space. The owner’s studio is adjacent, but he is very quiet and respectful of your privacy. There are long-term renters on the lower level and they, too, are friendly yet quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed making our own meals here using local island fruits, vegetables and fish from the farmer’s market and roadside stands. We chose to eat on the deck every time where the temperature was always perfect, night or day. We highly recommend this place as the perfect home-away-from-home on St. Thomas, no matter your occasion for visiting!

Wonderful View!
We had a wonderful time at "Taj by the Sea". Spent 2 weeks there with friends and family. We were pleasantly surprised and the condition of the island and home in light of the ravages from the hurricanes last September. Lots of recovery work going on, but many restaurants, shops and facilities were open. Accommodations were ideal for our group. Five bedrooms with five and half bathrooms! The fifth bedroom has two sets of bunk beds-not 2 twins and the bathroom in the hall. The rest of the bathrooms are ensuite. Also-beautiful large dining table in the kitchen area-can easily seat 10-12 people. Plenty of space and privacy for all. Plenty of towels, sheets, dishes, glasses, etc. Some minor problems, but Solomon and /or Marcus were readily available to help us out. The property is under some construction and rehab, but it did not inconvenience us in any way. We spent many wonderful afternoons and evenings enjoying the breathtaking views from the lanai which spanned the entire unit. The part of the property we stayed in is well suited for larger groups. We had 6 of us for 6 days and 10 for the remaining time. We also enjoyed going down to the beach at Abi's Beach Bar-a short walk down a nature trail from the property...also can be reached by car. Also rented a catamaran recommended by Solomon-great service and food. We did go into Charlotte Amalie-many shops and restaurants are open. However, on the days when there were no cruise ships lots of places were closed. Things may be different as more of the hotels open up. All in all-a wonderful relaxing trip! Thank you Dr. Kabuka for sharing your lovely property with us!

There are many positives about this property. All bedrooms have private baths, bunkbed room has hall bath, kitchen has plenty of plates, bowls, utensils, pots and pans, nice fridge, blender for drinks, coffee maker and dishwasher. Beach is quiet and beautiful (frequently we were the only ones there), We spent all 3 meals on veranda with beautiful views of ocean, shade from roof and breezes (it was absolutely the best place to sit and visit, read, watch boats). Pool was clean and beach towels were plentiful. Adults enjoyed the pool table. Marcus lives on property and was always just a phone call away and helpful. Appreciated the soap for dishwasher and shampoo and body wash in showers. A few negatives -- the path to the beach is only a few minutes but rugged, especially for older folks since the path contains loose rocks and tree roots, is narrow and a steep hill. Kitchen has no toaster. You will need a car to get to grocery, etc. Advised by notebook at the home not to drink the water since it is rain water stored in cistern and to conserve water, especially if it doesn't rain for a period of time. All bedrooms were subject to early morning light since window coverings are thin and light is easily admitted. Would have been nice to have a small supply of laundry soap available for the first load or two. Biggest concern is what appears to be lack of maintenance -- missing floor tiles in kitchen, stove drawer falls off and is not clean, holes around light switches or electrical outlets. Cleaners were just leaving as we arrived and floors, bathrooms, linens etc. were clean and even bleached. But poor maintenance distracted from overall positive impression. Found several large roaches in kitchen (nowhere else in house). Would stay again if maintenance issues were addressed. We were surprised by a family living in the downstairs -- no problem just didn't expect anyone else to be there.
