The Surf Cottage. Walk To Beach, Shops, Dining & Water Sports

These 4 quaint, authentic 'Old Florida' Key West style cottages (built in the 1940's)are cozy, very clean, and were completely renovated in 2014. A saltwater pool and heated spa, and grills are shared between the 4 cottages. Fenced pool area is 5000 sq ft.You won't have ANY screaming kids around this compound...just peace and quiet. Private fenced back yard. Romantic screened porch. You have a shed with 2 bikes and beach gear. This tiny cottage sleeps 2 adults comfortably. Very quiet, dog friendly neighborhood. You can walk to the beach, dining, shopping and water activities. NO MORE THAN 2 PEOPLE PER COTTAGE.
Starting 2023, January is a minimum of 2 weeks or longer rental. February & March are 1 month or longer.
YOU CAN BRING A SMALL DOGGY (25 LBS MAX) THE PET FEE IS $150 PER DOG AND CERTAIN BREEDS ARE NOT ALLOWED.
The world-famous John's Pass Village and Boardwalk is a stroll away gives you an oasis from the ordinary. This cozy fishing village has tempting restaurants and unusual shopping. You will find quaint shops that offer antiques, arts, crafts, clothing and jewelry.

A 6 seater electric beach cart available to rent. It is street legal.
FREE beach parking and FREE John's Pass Village parking.
$700 for a week.

Great place for couples vacation.
We really enjoyed our stay in the surf cottage. Excellent location and extremely quiet. Place was clean and comfortable along with a nice saltwater pool and hot tub. A very short five minute walk to the beach. The owner Judy was very quick to respond to questions and easy to deal with. Very laid-back property and excellent for a couples getaway or vacation. We will look forward to coming back next year.

You will love your stay….
We had an amazing stay at Judy’s cottage. Everything was great from start to finish and want to return in the future. The cottage was very clean, communications from the owner are helpful and the pool area very nice. The extras (beach gear, bikes) were a nice touch. Thank you.

Perfect setup and location to really unwind and enjoy beach life
Really cute, clean cottages. A nice pool and sauna to relax in with lots of privacy. One block from the beautiful white sand beach, directly behind a great bar and awesome bakery. Lots of shops and restaurants within a short distance. Loved it and will be definitely coming back!

Truly a gem!
We hated to leave! We loved everything about this quaint little cottage. The landscaping was absolutely beautiful and so peaceful to look at with its soft lighting at night. Enjoyed coffee every morning on the screened porch and relaxing in the heated pool and jacuzzi each evening. Judy was a wonderful host and we cannot wait to return!

Madeira Beach Paradise
This property offered everything my husband and I were looking for. The cottages are perfect. The space is perfect. The amenities are just as described. The neighborhood surrounding the property is quiet. The pool, hot tub, outdoor kitchen area has something to offer for everyone. The beach is walkable, as are many wonderful restaurants. Each cottage has plenty of beach towels, a shed with the convenience of beach chairs, an ice chest, a beach umbrella, and a wagon. And two bicycles. The cottage offers the best of both worlds…beach and restaurant proximity, yet a secluded, quiet area. The host Judy, was always very responsive. We have absolutely zero complaints. We are sitting at the airport in Tampa, looking forward to returning next May.

Perfect vacation spot right by the beach
We had a great vacation staying in Judy’s cottage. They had everything we could possibly need including beach gear and a stocked kitchen so we could cook our meals. The pool and spa was lovely, and I enjoyed having margaritas by the pool. It was an easy walk to the beach, less than a 10 min. The bed was comfortable, and the entire place was spotless. We are looking forward to visiting again in the future.

Anniversary Getaway
Wife and I celebrated our anniversary with a week in Madeira Beach. Judy’s cottage was impeccably clean and JUST what we were looking for. Rarely needed to share the pool/hot tub area, but the neighbors were GREAT when we did. 5min walk to the beach, 3 min bike ride to Johns Pass (an excellent tourist boardwalk destination). I would highly recommend the property to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing, warm weather getaway!

Perfect, I loved the surf cottage!
The cottage was beautiful and clean, I had everything I could possibly need, including a bike which I used everyday. The outdoor area was tropical and serene. The location was perfect. Judy is an amazing host, very friendly and responsive. My cottage neighbors were wonderful. I didn't want to leave and I would definitely stay here again!

The cottage was clean, inviting and well appointed. The pool and outside eating areas were great.
I have already recommended this property to family. 4 of us rented 2 cottages and had local visitors, with as many as 8 for dinner one night. The grill, outside table and pool were great for entertaining. The location was great for access to St. John's Pass and the beach. The screened porch was a great place to read. The ownerwas very welcoming. Iwill be back.

Great place to stay!
Our 2nd time here. We love it! No kiddos, pool and jacuzzi are very nice. Have every thing you need pretty much. Beach wagon, chairs, umbrellas, bikes, etc. Only thing we could complain about was it was too dang HOT! But not the owners fault. LOL. Think next time we'll come in September or May.

Quiet and peaceful
What a great little vacation spot to get away from it all! Leaving 30” of snow to come to the sunshine state is always welcome but staying at Judys cottage made it so much more enjoyable. Everything was ready upon our arrival, the cottage was clean, and all the comfort amenities were well thought out and included. Spent most of our time just relaxing on the beach or by the pool although we took some bike rides (great bikes!!) and loved taking walks to Johns Pass for food or ice cream. Judy was a delight to work with and was extremely accommodating. Thanks for the lovely stay- we will return!

A wonderful week in the Surf Cottage
The Surf cottage was lovely and truly one of the best-stocked rentals we have ever had. The decor is quaint "old Florida" and everything has been updated. Loved the Kerig coffee maker and the washer & dryer in the cottage. The location was great: just a few blocks off Gulf Blvd in a quiet residential area. Each of the 4 cottages on the property had a small private fenced-in back yard -- Perfect for our precious pups. The heated pool, hot tub, outdoor grilling areas and landscaping were a slice of paradise. Judy, the owner, is great to work with, very accommodating and easy to communicate with. We have stayed previously in the Mermaid and the Flamingo and been very pleased with all of our stays at Judy's Tropical Cottages. Highly recommended.

Thanks for making our honeymoon wonderful!
We decided to come to Florida for our honeymoon and after many months of searching and deliberating we finally agreed on the Surf Cottage and we are SO glad we did. It had all the amenities including cookware, towels, even bikes for each cottage. The pool was a perfect size and always at a very comfortable temperature. The cottage and especially the bed was so comfortable that we mostly slept for the first 3 days there. It's close to everything you could need: beach, shopping, Publix, restaurants, mini golf, etc. We would absolutely come to stay again and we've talked about getting our friends and family to come too and rent out the entire complex. I'd give 10 stars if I could! Thanks again Judy!

Extremely disappointing
We arrived on September 9th 2023 for a week stay, we attempted to use the door code that Judy provided however it did not work. I called her and she said to call her back in a couple of days and then hung up on me. I immediately called her back and told her we were here at her Surf cottage for our vacation and could not get the code to work. She was in such a tizzy and began to tell me that she had bigger problems in her life right now and did not remember that we were coming. Eventually she said we could stay at the sunshine cottage and gave me the code for that one. We entered and it was very musty and the couch mildewy. I went out to check on the pool and it was all green with algae and totally unusable. I called her back and all she could say was that her home pool was also green and since their was a hurricane 10 days earlier all the maintenance and pool cleaners were back logged. I said we could not stay there for a week and the main reason I booked the cottage was for the private pool and I wanted a full refund. She was ranting and raving about how her life was a mess and had worse problems of her own. I called VRBO and reported the situation. Five hours later after talking to them and calling many hotels I finally found one that was available for the next six days. Judy the owner texted me about 20 times, going on and on how her life was a mess. She said she did not give a rats ass about my refund. All she had to do was cancel our reservations. Horrible experience!

Magnificent Cottages
These cottages are amazing! They embody the charm of "old" Florida with all the convenience of modern life. My husband and I have stayed twice in the Sunshine cottage and once in the Surf cottage.... and I hope to be able to return again next year for my vacation. The cottages are beautiful and quaint and very well kept. The pool area is splendid and private and includes a hot tub area, and also has an outdoor kitchen for your use. Each cottage comes with the use of 2 bicycles and a beach buggy, washer/dryer, dishes, pots and pans, books to read, puzzles, tv's, wifi... everything one needs for a vacation that feels like a home away from home. The location is simply the best... so close to the beach, restaurants and some pretty good fishing at John's Pass. I can't give these cottages enough praise. ❤
