Good, not great
Beach was very nice. Small complex. Service was good. The infinity pool is nice-looking, but not a huge area. Beautiful foliage. Room facilities are falling on disrepair. They're planning to tear it down and building a much larger one.

perfect location, upgrade would be adequate
the food was tasty but not enough choice, but the STAFF ! really ,,, they obviously did not like to work or please any customer, only 2 were smiling ,,, the morning breakfast staff, was the worse, and also I think they are multitasking in that place ,,as I saw the same person cleaning rooms and be in the kitchen later.. One of the evening staff , every time we would walk to the dining area , he would trow his pen on the counsel and they never have eye contact with the customer at all , never, ,,,In the Hotel industries I have never seen or treated that way , very very disappointed because of the staff, and also needs some ambiance ,,, local music

The beach was nice.
When feeling welcome to the hotel by management plays a big part and we did not get that and also fight the birds and mosquitoes as we eat.

Very nice beach/location.
Our stay was okay, however there were significant waiting on requests/services - Caribbean speed? Room/bathroom and P/Areas looked clean, towels, linen was clean; shower curtain was not. We did not use housekeeping service during our stay so more towels would have been useful. I wish we could have free wifi in room as well as on the beach. Dinner was quite disturbed by mosquitos, food was nice though at all times, well worth to pay extra for all-inclusive. Some of the employees were friendly and nice while others didn't bother to make effort. Nice large pool with a view. The property, as far as location and beach could be a place for a .5 star resort, the rooms are spacious and okay for a 3 star, but the kitchenette area in the room and the building itself is worn and timed out, need a complete makeover, it's worth doing it to make the place as beautiful as its surrounding. By the way I was wondering why need a kitchenette if there are no china/silverware or glasses what so ever? All in all, if I would come to Antigua again probably I would choose this place again hoping it might become better. Location & beach would win over service and condition.

Small secluded hotel
After we entered the reception and walked around the corner to go into the main area of the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised with all of the beautiful vegetation surrounding the pool, bar, and outdoor dining areas. The view from the pool was beautiful. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was excellent. I had fish daily and was surprised with the outstanding menu. The beach was pretty and secluded. One day 2 cows walked down the beach! We stayed at the hotel the majority of the time since it was so relaxing. Took a trip to St. John's one day to buy a few suveniors and enjoyed exploring the city. On Sunday, took a tour around the island and to Shirley Heights for the music, barbeque, and sunset. There is a small historical fort close to the hotel you can walk to and explore.

Shabby (Chic) hotel
We had an excellent holiday based at Coconut Beach Hotel. It has a quiet unfussy approach. The staff are friendly the food is good if not wildly exciting and there is immediate access to the quiet beach. An ideal place to lose yourself. It is a hotel for couples, not families and this adds to the quiet atmosphere. For trips contact Frenchie - an expert on Antiguan life, generally the meaning of life and Manchester United football club. However, overall we thought the hotel was showing its age and a revamp of the rooms in particular would be welcome. They are clean but tired. Nevertheless, even with this reservation, I would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel to others.

Great Getaway!
My wife and I stayed at Coconut Beach the first week of June 2013. It is a wonderful small resort. There were only about 12 couples there during our stay and quickly got to know each other. Most were from England and in their 50's and 60's. Many were returning for their fourth or fifth visit. We had wonderful conversations comparing countries. It is all inclusive and the food was good. Breakfast and dinner were very good. No need for arm bands to identify you as a guest, the staff all know you and the hotel is on a beach that isn't shared by any other resort. The sand is soft and leads out into a beautiful bay. We had a Jr. Suite and it was more than big enough for everything we needed. The room was clean, the air conditioning worked well (important to my wife) and the views from the balcony were very nice. No telephone nor TV in the rooms but if you are an internet junkie, you can get good wifi in the outdoor dining area. If you're looking for a high activity, party resort full of 20 year old hardbodies, go somewhere else. If you're looking to get away from daily life without having to abandon civilization, this is a wonderful resort. We will keep this resort on our "return to" list. TNT

Do not stay here
The quality of food was bad and the room was decent but not worth the price. First, I wanted to go kayaking which the hotel lists as one of the activities that you can do on the resort. There was only one kayak available and it was being used by another guest with an unknown time of return. I then asked to use the snorkeling gear and the staff recommended us go to Deep Bay which is less than 3 minutes drive or 15 minute walk right outside the resort. We drove and went snorkeling for an hour and returned to the car at 12pm only to find our driver's side window smashed and all our belongings stolen from the trunk which equaled over $5,000 in losses plus I paid $600 for the broken window to the rental car company. I was later informed by the rental car company that it was the 2nd car that this exact crime happened to less than two months ago! I spoke with the resort manager and she told me that I did not let the staff know that I was bringing my belongings with me, if I had informed them. They would have told us it’s not safe. Shouldn’t they tell us its not safe either way? Secondly, she stated that her staff had said that we can choose to walk or drive and it was my own decision to drive instead of walking and that they takes no responsibility for recommending Deep Bay to us. We would of never went there if not for the fact that it was recommended by the resort!

Could Be a Great Getaway If.....
The hotel is located on a beautiful stretch of beach that is for all intent and purposes private. The beach was kept very clean. Lounge chairs were plentiful and restacked each night. All rooms face the beach and if you were in a ground floor room you could literally open your sliding door, walk through your terrace and be on the beach. There were three floors of rooms. The staff is very nice and tried to be very accomodating although handling more than one request at a time was always a challenge( cream and artificial sweetener for the coffee never arrived at the same time). The furniture was low quality and uncomfortable. The sheets and especially the towels were old and worn. No blanket on the bed. The bedspread doubled as a blanket. Each person got one bath towel and one hand towel. Requests for more towels were sporadically addressed. Each person got one beach towel per day. Food was good for what it was. They need WiFi in the rooms. Wifi on the grounds was sporatic. One TV in the "lounge" next to the dining room. Not even a radio in the rooms. No night time entertainment at all. No telephones in the rooms to call the front desk or another room. The lack of all these things is prominently displayed in the literature, but not the lackluster condition of the hotel itself which was very disappointing. For now, if you really want to "get away from it all" for a few days, this hotel is the place for you.

The Hotel itself is pretty rundown, lots of repairs needed.Leaky roofs, broken tiles and generally not up to par!Food was hit or miss and the breakfast was the same each day.Now for the really bad---the sand flies and mozzies!!!All guests were very badly bitten,to the extreme ,some guests had doctors come visit.Management did not help very much, needless to say quite a few people will not return! There was also a brek-in while we stayed--not recommended.

So low-key. Exactly what we were looking for!
We just returned from a stay at Coconut Beach Club. It was amazing. The staff were so friendly. Clifton, Tanza, Raynold, Samantha, everyone we came in contact with was so helpful and always smiling. The beach was beautiful. We LOVED that it was such an intimate setting. If you are looking for a glitzy or large resort, this is not it. However, if you want a relaxing, casual and laid back resort, this it the place to go. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Relaxing with family
First of all the hotel is rated three star and so one should keep that in mind. The majority of the staff are extremely pleasant, Bernadette and Cotton to name a couple. Dinner was always excellent, several things to choose from off the menu each evening and something different offered for all of the eight evenings we were there. Lunch was also very good with a variety of choices served up each day. Breakfast was the standard bacon and sausages, etc. Oh there is also tea in the afternoon. The beach is excellent, overall very clean and great for swimming, walking and just lazing around. The pool is very pleasant but there aren't any chaises around it. generally the resort is very quiet during the day, most people reading etc. with guests congregating around the bar in the evening. The rooms are basic and as they mention in the website no phones or TVs which was fine with us. However the bed linen and towels had seen better days. They all looked as though they have been around for quite a while. Overall if you don't need a lot of frills but enjoy good food, a great beach and peace and quiet I would recommend it especially for the price. However if you like entertainment and five star rooms etc. this may not be for you. Most people were probably in their forties on up while we were there and it is very popular with the Brits. We went for a family get together there so it fit everyone's budget and worked out perfectly for us.

If you want to enjoy isolation with great food, this is the place
The location is far from the typical tourist areas so don't expect to find yourself surrounded by shops, restaurants, or nightly entertainment. We saw plenty of free-roaming cattle and goats. But, if what you want is quiet isolation with a lovely beach and your own hammock, this is the place for you. Most of the guests were British tourists. The dinners were the highlight of each day: well prepared with inventive combinations. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was basic but clean. I would go back, but my husband prefers more things to do.
