Castaway villa is conveniently located in the Estate Chocolate Hole neighborhood, walking distance to the Westin Hotel and a very short drive to Cruz Bay dining and shopping. A perfect neighborhood for morning runs while enjoying the fantastic views. The villa has recently undergone major exterior renovations to the driveway, exterior lighting, salt water pool and pool deck plus all new exterior furniture. We also just completed the installation of a Tesla back up battery system in order to provide uninterrupted power during power outages. If you have stayed with us before, and we know many of you do, you'll be in for a real treat on your return! In total, the property has 3 bedroom + bath suites, plus a sleeping loft and an additional half bath, located as follows: The main villa has 2 bedroom and bathroom suites, both offering king size beds, double vanity bathrooms & private outdoor showers. One of the suites can have the king converted to two twin beds if needed. The sleeping loft is small and positioned overlooking the main living room, and has a full bed - suitable for kids. There is also a half bath in the main house. The pool cabana is home to the 3rd bedroom suite, and is located off of the pool deck. It too has a king size bed, central air, fantastic views of Hart Bay, full bathroom and a sliding glass door to a private water view deck. Both the main house and cabana offer beautiful wood plank cathedral ceilings, cool stamped concrete floors, full central air throughout including common areas, ceiling fans and fantastic ocean breezes if you prefer to have the windows open with the screens on, gorgeous turquoise water views, and a 30ft pool with large sundeck. It all works to create a space you won't want to leave!
The villa is fully equipped to make your stay as comfortable as possible. It has a fully stocked kitchen with all the kitchen gadgets so that you can cook as much (or as little) as you want! We also provide all linens, pool floats, beach towels, beach chairs, coolers, wifi, TV, cable and house phone. Washer and dryer are available for use during your stay. Nothing to bring but your clothes and sunscreen! The driveway fits 2 cars comfortably. The villa also has a new gas grill and outdoor shower for rinsing off after long days at the beach. Use the blender for frozen margaritas to sip while you float on the pool rafts and overlook the water views in Chocolate Hole.
There is a full time caretaking crew who live on St. John. They are available to answer any questions during your stay.
The location of the house is fantastic. The neighborhood is great for those who want to go for a run or morning stroll. The newly renovated Westin is nearby, with all of it's amenities. The St. John market is around the corner - not even a 2 minute drive - for any last minute food or alcohol needs! We fell in love with St. John and loved the idea of being close to Cruz Bay yet private enough to not feel the hustle and bustle.
Renting a car is strongly recommended in order to see all of the beautiful beaches the island has to offer and for trash removal, which is the responsibility of the tenants. A fee will be assessed if the caretakers have to facilitate removal. Driving is on the left side of the road and the rental companies are very good at explaining road rules, etc..
