Great Villa! Amazing view!
We really enjoyed our stay at Pina Playa. The villa had everything we needed including beach chairs and coolers. We loved the location and the view was amazing! Checkin/checkout was a breeze. The property manager met us at the villa, gave a quick overview of the property and left us to it. We’d choose to stay here again!

Ohhhhh so Good!
Perfect location, close to Coral Bay and it's East side markets and restaurants. Amazing views!! Clean and well stocked with beach gear and cooler. Easy (well easy for St. John) drive to the North Shore beaches. Great for 1 to 3 couples. Had a great time!

Coray Bay Retreat
We absolutely loved our stay from the neighboring rooster waking us every morning to a quiet evenings on the porch swings. Away from everyone and close enough to be everywhere you want to be. Spacious and bright with everything you might need during your stay. Thank you.

Wonderful time at Pina Playa Villa

Week in paradise
My wife and I have been to St John annually for over 10 years. We bought a newbie couple here to share the house and had a great time. The amenities for snorkeling and cooking were great. The on site property manager was very responsive to a couple of small situations. Even with two days of rain, we had a great time.

Great stay!
We had a fantastic week on Island, and came back to a relaxing and well equipped home every evening. During the rain day, we kept ourselves busy with things around the home, and were happy to have great cookware, laundry, and very comfortable beds. There is not anything we needed during our trip that was not available at the property. Thank you for having us....we hope to return soon!

Perfect Pina Playa
Kristen and Kathryn were wonderful to communicate with and very responsive. We really appreciated having Kristen guide us to the house when we arrived at night. The house had everything we needed, from kitchen items to beach chairs. We appreciated the not steep driveway. But really one of the best parts was the view. Each day we marveled at the incredible view of the coral bay harbor and all of the surrounding mountains.

Family Time
Myself, my husband, and our two adult children had a wonderful family vacation at Pina Playa Villa. The house was perfect to come home to after a day of snorkeling. Having beach chairs, towels, and coolers to use made going out to the beaches so easy and pleasurable. The house was clean, well equipped and welcoming. the property manager was the best and so helpful. I definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting a St. John vacation.

Great Location!
We LOVED Pina Playa! Its location is great for branching out in different directions each day. The driveway is easy to maneuver—a lot easier than most others on the island. The house was just as advertised. It has a gorgeous view of Coral Bay! We really appreciated the clothes line, beach supplies, well stocked kitchen (pans, dishes, etc), lights along driveway and the motion light for when we returned after dark, outdoor shower for spraying off sand, the books about St. John, the washer and dryer, the bright and well lit rooms, the grill, the water bottles when we arrived after a long day of traveling, and the beautiful deck with plenty of seating. The owner, Kathryn, was very helpful when I sent questions about the Island. We also appreciated the property manager leading us to the property since it was dark and it’s sometimes hard to find the house you’re looking for. I will definitely try to rent Pina Playa on my next trip to St. John!

Relaxing in Paradise
We visited the islands the first week in January with our two grown daughters. What a treat it was staying at Pina Playa Villa! The house is very nice and well appointed. The owner has really thought of every reasonable need a visitor could want during a visit and equipped the house accordingly. The view from the back deck looking over Coral Bay was fantastic! Every morning and every evening it was great to be able to relax and take in the view. This was our third trip to St John and our first time staying on the east side of the island. The Coral Bay side is very relaxed, close to the north shore beaches with just as many amenities in the nearby town. We all really prefer this side of the island having stayed here. Thanks to Kristen and Ernie for their help and for Kathryn for her tips and great communications. Hope to return one day in the not too distant future.

A great house in a great location
This is an excellent property in every respect, and we have been renting in St. John for 30 years. The manager provided excellent advance information and check in was easy. The house layout is thoughtfully designed for guest privacy, with a large primary bedroom upstairs and two ample bedrooms on the lower floor, each with an adjacent full bathroom. The beds were comfortable and a wide variety of pillows was available. Unlike many St. John rentals, this house is easily accessible from the Center Line Road without heroic driving. The kitchen/great room area is well stocked with most of the cookware, dishes, glasses, and utensils that one would want, and it is easy to cook, eat, and clean up. A large variety of beach chairs, coolers, towels, and water gear are available on the wrap-around deck on the main floor. Located above Coral Bay in (we think) the best part of the island, Francis Bay beach is about 15 minutes away, and food shopping and dining in Coral Bay is convenient. All in all, a really good experience.

Magnificent view from high up in great home
Wonderful home with everything you might need. Short drive down to CoralBay Comfortable king bed was the one in the upstairs master. The owner is very responsive and very helpful to make a stay at her home a happy and memorable one! We highly recommend the home.

Immaculate House with beautiful views
House was exceptionally clean. I really liked the layout with the master bedroom upstairs and the two other bedrooms on the main level. The master bedroom has a beautiful view. We utilized the beach chairs, Turkish towels (which I loved and will order for our beach trips here), color and beach bag. The kitchen was well stocked as well with everything we needed. The management company greeted us as soon as we reached the house and was responsive to a question I had mid-week. Driving to the house was a smooth ride. The roads were in good condition. My family also really enjoyed the "swing" chairs on the deck. The air conditioning worked great in the bedrooms. We only needed it for two very humid nights and the other nights we opened the sliding glass door for a nice breeze in the master bedroom. My family played either cards or Scrabble which was available in the house many nights. It was a very enjoyable stay.

Incredible stay at Pina Playa with panoramic view of Coral Bay!
It was our first-time visiting St. John and Pina Playa did not disappoint! Wow. Just Wow! The views are breathtaking and even better in person! We provisioned the house upon arrival which was nice after a long travel day. The villa was well-stocked with all kitchen and bathroom accessories we needed for our week stay. It truly was our home away from home. The real highlight though is the view of Coral Bay. We enjoyed our time out on the deck each day soaking in the beauty and listening to the birds. We loved staying on the Coral Bay side which was quieter and had easy access to hiking, beaches, and local restaurants. Our stay was just what my family needed that included memories that will last a lifetime. The owners and property manager were fantastic and a delight to work with. I can't recommend Pina Playa enough!

A perfect spot for great views and relaxation
Pina Playa was a wonderful place to stay on our first trip to St. John. Close to everything on the island but secluded enough to feel peaceful and private. The house had everything we needed, and we loved being able to enjoy breakfast out on the balcony overlooking beautiful Coral Bay. The owner's recommendations were super helpful, and having the car available to use made everything so much more convenient. Highly recommend staying here!

Perfect place for a relaxing week
My wife and two college-aged daughters stayed at Pina Playa for the week. The house was perfect. The master suite was big with a very comfortable king bed. The girls each had their own separate rooms and bathrooms. All of the bedrooms were air conditioned. The kitchen had everything that you would want and the living room was relaxing with plenty of couch space and a nice big tv. The view of Coral Bay from the rooms was excellent. The restaurants, grocery store and many of the beaches were a short, scenic drive away. The owner’s car provided for rental was very convenient. We couldn’t be happier we stayed in Coral Bay and we’d stay at Pina Playa again without question.

Great view, great villa!
My husband and I had the privilege of staying at Pina Playa villa in April, 2022. We really enjoyed the villa! The view is better than the pictures. The drive is one of the easiest on St. John - all paved, 2-lane roads without any blind turns or hills. The neighborhood is a mix of residents and rentals, which allowed us to fantasize that we were full time residents. We appreciated the quiet and central location, with especially quick access to Waterlemon, Maho and Francis beaches, and easy drives into Cruz Bay and Coral Bay. The villa is well stocked; we particularly appreciated the Yeti tumblers for our time on the beach. The master bed and pillows are incredibly comfortable, and so we had some of the best sleeps in a long time. While there are A/C units, we found the breezes kept the villa quite comfortable. Very rare to St. John, all bedrooms have interior access. Communication with Kathryn and Kristen (property manager/greeter) was fast and helpful. The automated payment of the remaining balance through Airbnb was convenient. The villa was impeccably clean, and everything in working order. There was not a single thing that we wanted and did not have. We highly recommend Pina Playa!

Nearly a Month in Paradise!
We were very fortunate to spend almost a month visiting St. John and our stay at Pina Playa was the perfect place and location for our stay. Upper Carolina where the villa is located is a perfect central spot on the Coral Bay side of the island – it’s easy to get to, no crazy hills and a very easy driveway. We were close to the North Shore beaches but as important close to the East End beaches like Hanson and North Haulover (great snorkeling spot) and Salt Pond which were all a lot less crowded and parking was not a problem. The Villa provided everything we needed for a day at the beach. It’s also close to hiking trails. The location is a quick trip to the restaurants in Coral Bay like Skinny Legs, Rhumb Line, the Pink Corner, Salty Mongoose, Wok on the Beach, Aqua Bistro, Homemade Meals to Go, etc – many choices! Calabash Market was our favorite spot for some groceries. And being music lovers, we were able to enjoy open mic at both Pizzabar in Paradise (Tuesdays – good pizza!) and Miss Lucy’s (Thursdays). And not a bad trip to Cruz Bay which we did several times for ferry pick-ups and boat trips. Pina Playa had everything we needed to eat a breakfast, lunch or dinner in and we enjoyed many meals sitting on the deck enjoying the view. If you get up early enough you can catch some beautiful sunrises. And don’t forget to spend some time lounging in the hanging chairs! The villa is also situated so that it gets a nice breeze, we never needed to use the air-conditioning. It also is the perfect layout for several couples or families with kids, each of the 3 bedrooms has its own full bath. Being able to rent the owner’s car was a huge bonus since we normally plan our trips to St. John by reserving the car first and it was a money saver. We highly recommend Pina Playa Villa in Upper Carolina.

Peaceful location with great island access
The place was perfect for our family of 4. The kids each had their own bedroom and bathroom. A/c in each of the bedrooms, which was nice, but the exposed house face to the bay offered a nice ocean breeze as well, so either works more of a personal preference. The deck had a spectacular view of Coral Bay, which was great for meals on the deck or a relaxing coffee/drink. Coral Bay, less congested than Cruz Bay, was only a 5 min drive where you can find several restaurants and grocery stores. The location of the place puts you in the central part of St John that provides easy access to more secluded beaches, which if you're a snorkeler you definitely want to take advantage of. The property contact was very attentive whenever we had a question. Huge bonus that the owner also rents a vehicle with the place at a great rate and extremely convenient. Not to mention the extras like beach towels, coolers, beach chairs, well stocked kitchen, etc. The owner has thought of the rental from the renters perspective, which we found very helpful and shortened the settling time to vacation mode. Great place, can't go wrong, unless you prefer resorts, but if you did you wouldn't be reading this review. Enjoy!

A wonderful stay
We spent 5 days at the at Pina Playa Villa and had a wonderful experience. The location of the house is a little farther from Cruz bay, but minutes from all the beautiful beaches on the north shore. The Villa is exactly as described. The 3 bedrooms are comfortable, spacious and air-conditioned. The bathrooms are clean, with plenty of fluffy towels. Kitchen is well equipped and everything is operational. We ended up spending a lot of time indoor just because the house is so comfortable! The balcony gets a lot of sun and is a favorite hangout. If you can wake up early, you can catch the sunrise. Kathryn and her manager are both friendly and great to work with. We are so glad we took their advice to visit the Windmill bar. We will definitely be back!
