We are within walking distance of St. IVES town which takes approx. 15 minutes. In the other direction Carbis Bay beach is approx. 15 mins away .Both directions go along the coastal path which have amazing views of the sea. We are near a good local pub which serves food and within 5 minutes walk to local food shop. At the back of us are woods with fields and country walks. There is a public 9 hole golf course nearby within walking distance.
St Ives town has 5 luxury beaches and clean golden sand and sea, voted one of top ten in Europe. St. Ives is famous for its traditional Cornish Harbour with fisherman's cottages leading to and from the centre of town with its narrow streets in which the Fore Street has lots of interesting little shops and restaurants to suit and abundance of tastes.. Several good fresh seafood restaurants and the traditional ' Cornish cream teas' can be found in and around town offering also coffee and a chance to experience home baking..
For those interested in art, the streets have many small galleries the pride of town being the Tate Gallery with its lovely views over Porthmeor beach . Also Barbara Hepworth sculpture museum and gardens and the Bernard Leach pottery is open for tours and chance to make a pot.
in September the studios have open doors for the Art and music festival .
For those who like walking there are many coastal walks and a pilgrims
walk to St. Michael's mount which is an experience not to be missed or just a local walk up to Knill's Steeple monument through woodland and fields which gives panoramic views of both coasts.
Porthmeor is a surfing beach which offers lessons and body boarding. There are lifeguards on beaches that show the flags.
Also for golfers we have a nine hole golf course locally and an 18 hole open golf course at Lelant with spectacular views of the sea.
The area is of outstanding beauty so if you want to just soak up some of the natural scenery you could take a boat trip from the harbour to Seal island or treat yourself to a fishing trip out in the bay on a high powered speed boat.
There is also a shuttle train ride to St. Erth via Lelant which shows the coastline from a different perspective and is well worth an all round trip ,
no wonder its been named the 'Jewel in our Crown'.
