The happening arts, culinary, and shopping scene of Apalachicola is just 13 miles by car!

The exterior of this classic, cozy vacation home features a private sparkling pool with lounge-style seating and is fenced for security. The outdoor area always offers a fish cleaning area (with running water), and an enclosed outdoor shower (hot/cold). In addition, this home's exterior offers an extended covered patio that features a bar area, lots of seating, and two outdoor dining tables.

You enter this beach abode via the south-facing covered deck, which spans the length of the home. The deck features plentiful Adirondack-style seating and an additional outdoor dining table to enjoy Gulf views. Upon entering Somerset you are greeted by the open living/dining/kitchen area with vaulted ceilings and traditional beach decor. The living area features a large TV (cable/DVD), an electric fireplace, an extensive book/VCR/DVD library, and plenty of comfortable seating, including a queen sleeper sofa.

The dining area offers a farm-style table that comfortably seats eight and there is seating for four more at the breakfast bar that looks into the well-equipped kitchen. The kitchen has everything you need to create your meals, including an extra-large refrigerator, a microwave, and a Keurig coffee station. For the guests' convenience, there is a laundry room off the kitchen/dining area. Beach gear credit is included with this home - book a stay and get your choice of kayaks, paddleboards, beach chairs, and more!

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Yearly St George Island visitor
We had a great time. I'd highly recommend Somerset. The kitchen was well stocked. The home was comfortable. We really enjoyed the deck, plenty of very comfortable chairs, even a small picnic table for the Grands. Who, also totally enjoyed the pool! We'll definitely stay there again.

Somerset on St. George Island
Loved the deck and the pool layout. Our youngest is autistic and swimming in the pool was his thing...he absolutely loved it. Still being able to see the gulf and hear the waves was great, even being 3 houses from the beach. The wash stations were handy after the beach. As listed above, wished the pool light and the downstairs bar light worked so as to enjoy those areas more into the evenings.

Somerset is Summer paradise
This was our first trip to St George and won't be our last - we plan to stay here at Somerset again. Just the perfect old school beach home vibe - truly felt like home. Super clean with everything you need in the house. The pool was cleaned almost everyday and was perfect to relax around. Short ride/walk to the beach and great deck for catching the sunset. Family raved about this home and we can't wait to come back!

The house was comfortable, including the beds. We had housekeeping and maintenance issues. The house and pool needs some repairs. The new house they are building obstructs the ocean view, but the outside area is nice. It was overpriced at $833.00 a night for April.

Well equipped. Beautiful clean pool. The stove grease screen was very greasy and caught on fire when we tried to use it. A maintenance guy came to look at it in timely manner. Was not fixed. The dishwasher did not clean the dishes. Had to redo by hand. There was no cutting knife just steak knives. The toilet seat in BR NEEDS TO BE TIGHTENED

So peaceful!
Loved the place overall! Definitely not the most modern but very clean and so comfy! The pool area was so nice and relaxing! Houses around it but still quiet and felt private enough!!! Unfortunately it rained more during our trip than not. We have been coming to the island for 15 years and this is the worst weather we ever experienced. We still loved our stay!!!

Great experience
This was our first time renting a house instead of a condo on SGI, and Somerset did not disappoint The kitchen was very well-equipped to prepare any meal, and there was plenty of room for us all to spread out (inside and out). The stove eye wasn`t working well; we called RSV for help, and someone came very soon to fix it. The property had been well-cleaned before our arrival. We had a view of the Gulf, but that will apparently be changing very soon, as another house is going up in front of this property. Thank you for a great experience! Most relaxing vacation ever.
Close to the beach. Well furnished. Spacious. There were only 2 of us, but there was space for 6. It was quiet. We saw other houses around us, but didn't hear anything. We'll be back.

Pool tiles were all of the place and coming off left and right. The pool was cloudy and in the middle of our stay they came to clean it with no notice and put 3 tablets of chlorine in the pool while we were in it!! We asked if they can come later when we are not swimming they said no.

Really enjoyed the pool
The property was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The unheated pool was fantastic, and at the end of September was about 31C (88F) so we could enjoy pre-breakfast swims, and moonlight dips. The house is slightly old fashioned, but the only negative thing about this was that the air con is rather noisy and might struggle if very hot. WiFi was reliable, but not very fast. We reported a leak on the dish washer, and some one came to look at it the same day. Unfortunately an on the spot fix was not possible. We could have used it, but decided not to. The beach was a 5 minute walk, and the shops a 5 minute drive. Most meals were taken on the deck with a sea view. The area (late September) was very quiet. We would happy rent it again
