Happiness Bay: Saint George Island Waterfront Luxury

Saint George Island may be the best-kept secret in Florida. It's unspoiled natural beauty and laid-back vibe make it ideal for people who want to unplug and unwind. No high rises, stoplights, street lights, or billboards. On our end of this 26-mile-long barrier island, there's only one road. We're on the Apalachicola Bay side, but the Gulf beach is across the street, with private beach access for our guests. You can watch the sunrise on the beach, and sunsets from our private dock or hot tub. Many of Saint George Island's vacation rentals are large homes that rent only by the week. We designed Happiness Bay Studio for two people, for any length of stay, so you can make a quick escape to Saint George whenever your schedule allows. The space is designed for luxury and convenience. The kitchenette has a mini fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster oven, toaster, double hot plate, coffee pot, with coffee, oil, and spices. This is a ground-floor studio apartment with private entrance and self check-in via digital lock. The hosts occupy the second and third floors of the home.

St George Island’s Little Jewel
Very quiet, good for nature viewing. Space for two adults quite adequate, charmingly decorated, toaster oven and microwave but no stove top…one of the best locations on St George Island.

Great Stay, easy beach access and right on the Bay
My wife and I took a long weekend trip for our anniversary. It's a great place, the owners live above and you have your own access looking out at the Bay. Comfortable bed and small fridge and toaster oven. Short walk to the beach from the end of the driveway. There is a Bald Eagle nest near their dock if you go while they are still nesting. We saw them daily. We caught a few fish off the dock too. Highly recommend Salem's place.

Darling studio
A darling studio located in a beautiful area of the bay. An easy walk to the gorgeous beach. Truly a special little nest. We appreciated the fact that we could rent it for just one night during our road trip.

Small studio on the ground floor, perfectly clean, perfectly arranged with beautiful décor, very welcoming to the guest in every aspect. Owner was very discreet, cordial and aiming to please, which made us feel very welcome. Thank you! Location is ideal, not too close to "downtown" and close to the beautiful state park.

Perfect Stay
This place was just the right size for my wife and I, and the access to the dock, bay, and hot tub were serious icing on the cake. We even made great meals with the toaster oven, etc.... we just had to get a little creative. The furniture was very comfortable, and the hosts were outstanding. The proximity to the state park was one reason we chose this location and it did not disappoint. Although this is a bit random, and may change over time, we absolutely loved watching (from the dock at sunset) the nest of the breeding pair of bald eagles in a nearby pine. The eagles would fly in and out, fish in the bay, and it was really an unexpected treat.

I stayed here for two nights in mid-December. The room was just as pictured. The space was perfect for me and my dogs. The entire place was spotless, the bed was so comfortable, the water pressure was great, and the check-in process was seamless. The hot tub was a welcomed plus, and it was preset to the perfect temperature. The dock overlooking the bay was the icing on the cake! It was the perfect place to sit and clear your mind, or watch the sunset. Eagles were nesting in the trees close to the dock, herons were landing close by, and fish were jumping like crazy--so that was fun to watch. Bring your binoculars! Lastly, communication with the owner was a breeze, very nice to deal with. Looking forward to staying here again in the future.

Cozy Getaway
This was such a cute studio that was the perfect size for me and my girlfriend for the week. We did have a bad day of storms at first, but we were still able to enjoy the back dock and relax by the bay. The walk to the beach was super easy (I would recommend to bring a pair of water shoes or shoes you don’t care about, as there was some standing water between the road and beach). Couple of great restaurants only a few miles away. Super comfy bed and cute kitchenette. Bathroom was great with a spacious shower. If you are planning to use a cooler for the beach, I’d recommend getting ice down at the store. The freezer portion of mini fridge didn’t keep our ice packs frozen. But not a big deal. Overall it was a great time and we would love to come back!

Happiness Bay is the BEST!
Perfect get away for celebrating our 20th anniversary.From the time we pulled up,till we departed was simply perfect.The studio was modern,clean,and needed nothing.Bed was comfortable from the full day of activities.Beautiful walk to the beach in the morning,swim in the afternoon,and finish with a walk after sunset to see the stars,ghost crabs,very fun to watch.Owners where very friendly and was prompt with any info needed.Felt we stayed at the best place on the island,simply a beautiful place to enjoy.We will be back fore sure!!
