The staff made checking in really difficult, no one present at the desk and no one answering the phone. When we did check in, the receptionist provided no instructions on how to access our room (hotel at the back of the pub) or how to check out the following day. The room was clean and tidy. The pub does a lovely meal.

The hotel room was clean, tidy and comfortable. So happy it had clean & fluffy towels & face washer. The breakfast menu, which is only available on the weekend (unfortunately), was delicious!

Kind people cafe was good. Didnt like that bathrooms out the door down the hall. Also put on 2nd floor both of disabled , i didnt ask before, was rough on my knee and lungs, hubby has severe heart condition took a while to recover. Then in female bath was 2 toilets, 2 tubs with shower heads. Unfortunately about 6am water was shut off so no showers for us. Construction started about then too on kitchen very noisy. Had a Q bd tiny sink and sm desk in rm very small . Felt like in early 1900s .

It was a lovely pub. We went on a Saturday night and they have much until late and unfortunately that made it difficult to sleep. The meals were very good and staff couldn't do any more for us.

Great outback hotel in St George
We flew to St George to experience a remote town - we were very happy with our choice of destination, and equally happy to choose The Australian Hotel. The rooms were good, the bar was vibrant, the beer was cold, and the river walk just outside the hotel was excellent. My only criticism was the $41 steak, cooked and served in beef country, did not meet our expectations.
