Lovely villa overlooking the beautiful La Sagesse Bay.

Zingiber is a beautifully situated, modern 5 bedroom villa built into the hillside overlooking La Sagesse Bay and Nature Reserve. It has stunning views of the palm fringed sandy beach (voted one of the TOP 10 CARIBBEAN BEACHES by the Observer 2010)

Grenada is a naturally beautiful Island unspoiled by mass tourism with wonderful coves and beaches, rain forests, volcanic lake and waterfalls. Eco tourism is encouraged here. St George is the prettiest capital and port in the Caribbean with plenty of history and a traditional market selling fresh produce and spices. Rum, chocolate and nutmeg are all produced and visitors are welcomed.
This villa is perfect for a relaxing get away for couples, friends or families. It is spacious, homely well equipped and you can spend hours in the infinity pool or on the terrace just looking at the view of the stunning La Sagesse Bay. Although it is tempting to stay at the villa it is also well placed should you wish to venture out to see all Grenada has to offer. The Island is only 17 miles by 11 miles so nowhere is far. There are 3 restaurants and 2 supermarkets within a 10 minute drive, St Georges and Grand Anse are both 20-25 minutes drive away while many attractions are rarely more than 30-40 minutes drive often through lovely scenery.
You can get to the delightful La Sagesse bay by a quick 5 minute drive or a leisurely 15 minute walk . It is very safe for swimming with sunbeds, canoes and boogie boards available for hire. There is a restaurant offering freshly prepared meals and snacks which is open for breakfast through to evening dining.
In the villa itself there are 2 master double bedrooms and 3 twin bedrooms all of which are en suite,
Both master bedrooms and one of the twin bedrooms open out onto a large covered terrace at the front and have wonderful sea views.
All the bedrooms have high ceilings, are light and airy and have air- conditioning although wonderful sea breezes mean it is often not needed. The wardrobes are supplied with plenty of coat hangers.
The large open plan living area includes a kitchen, dining area and living room all opening out onto a large covered terrace with an outdoor dining table and huge corner sofa again with lovely sea views over the bay.
The kitchen is well equipped with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, electric cooker, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and kettle. All cutlery, crockery, pans and utensils are supplied. The island unit has a granite work surface and bar stools.
The dining area has an oak table and can seat 10.
There are 2 large comfy sofas in the living area which has a 42' flat screen TV (with cable if required), DVD player, WiFi and ipod dock. A large selection of DVDs, books and games are provided.
This whole open plan floor arrangement offers plenty of space for everyone to do their own thing.

A Safety deposit box is provided for safe keeping of passports and money.
A separate laundry/utility room provides a washing machine,iron and ironing board and drying rack. There is also a clothes drying line outside.
All bed linens and towels are provided including bath towels, pool towels and beach towels.
A cleaner can be arranged at extra cost payable locally.
This is a lovely property, well equipped and very comfortable with plenty of light airy indoor and outdoor living spaces. It is perfect for 2 families or large groups as it is spacious enough to never feel crowded as well as being very cost effective.
Smaller groups and families are very welcome too and special rates apply for groups of 1-6 apply making it still very cost effective.

I wanna thank the host for having me and my family. The home was just as it was shown in the pictures and the views surpassed our expectations. I would book this place again in. An heartbeat. U will need a driver or a car to get around but for the views it was worth it

Sagesse Serenity at Zingiber
Our group of 10 loved our stay at Zingiber. The house was well appointed and comfortable. The view over the bay was amazing and the pool area a great place to spend time. Pearl greeted us at the airport and got us settled in. We were a short drive from markets and a few restaurants, so even though we were not in town there were close conveniences.

The owners and property manager were very upfront and helpful, There was some construction down from the house and the owners made sure we were well aware of the extent! The house was sparkling clean and beautifully appointed. There's so much to do and see on the island and yet we always gravitate back to that patio in the back to relax in the breeze. I'd go back to Grenada just for that. Pearl and Bentley were wonderfully responsive and helpful. Thanks for all of your tips and guidance.

Fantastic house and location!
Our family just enjoyed a week here in Grenada. We are all thrilled we chose this house for our family vacation this year. The house is spacious and beautiful. It’s close proximity to La Segasse Beach was super convenient for a nice beach day. The drive to the other side of the island was a quick 30 minutes. Jill, Ms Pearl, and Mr Boney were so kind and easy to work with. The construction down below was communicated to us. It didn’t bother us too much at all. The pile driver as our alarm clock was the worst part :) Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Beautiful property - easy access to La Sagesse Beach.
We had an amazing trip! Perfect house for two families. Bentley and Amber the house managers were extremely helpful. The owners of La Sagesse Hotel at the bottom of the hill were delightful. They have a group swim every morning g at 10am. 3 days and you earn yourself a t shirt! The hotel restaurant and the GrenadaMarina restaurant are close by, and don’t forget to go to Rhonda’s ice cream close to Marina - open 2-10 each day. We would recommend having a car. Markets close by are limited. Vegetables should be picked up outdoor spice market in Grenville or just on side of road. If you want meats, you may want Bentley to pick that up for you. Other than that the SOG has what you need. Really amazing place! We will be back.

Amazing vacation!
We traveled from Florida to thr Island for a Thanksgiving break getaway and we were beyond thrilled with our vacation. The house was secluded and quiet with a stunning view. Don't bother with the reviews complaining about the construction. Yes, it is going on down the cliff from the house, but we never heard a thing, it is kept very tidy so it's not unsightly, and it doesn't block and of the view. The house is spacious and clean. Yes, there are a few things that could be updated, but I'm sure it's that was in every home. This is someone's private home, not a resort. It was a lovely as we expected. The on site laundry was great so we didn't have to worry about packing muddy clothes from the hike to Seven Sisters Falls! The beds were on the extra firm side but that is about the only negative we have to say. The house is a little bit away from everything on the island but it's just like staying in a suburb outside of the main city, and it was a beautiful drive to enjoy. The people of the island are like no other place we have been, so friendly and genuine. The food was delicious and had a great variety around the island. Do not miss touring Belmont Estate, Grand Etang, and walking around St. George. Dinner at La Sagesse Hotel, Sails, Umbrellas, and the pizzeria by the university were all a must. We also loves Sweet Traditions bakery in St. George! The property owners are very responsive and the caretaker, Pearl, was an amazing help with everything. I highly recommend the property as well as the island in general!

Family holiday
It is a spacious and well designed house, with a lovely view. There were 10 of us staying and did not feel crowded at all. There is major construction work going at the foot of the hill next to the beach, we were aware of this when we booked and although you are aware of it, it was not disruptive. Doubtless this will only be for a few months and when the new hotel is open there will be a wider choice of places to eat nearby. La Sagesse is a lovely beach but the long standing hotel there has closed for refurbishment, reducing the eating options in the area at the moment. I am well aware that it is constant work trying to keep up with the maintenance on a house near the sea in Grenada, but I must agree with the last post that the property could do with some remedial work. Thanks to Pearl who had a few problems with the house to deal with during our stay and was always quick to respond. However when you are on holiday you can do without the hassle of having to report faults, so I would say it would be better to take the place off line for a little while and attend to all of the snags. The road to the villa is rough and can be awkward to drive, especially in wet weather. A car is essential and a 4x4 is recommended. There is ample parking if your group has several cars. We recommend Spice Isle restaurant for a relatively nearby takeaway. There is a closer but more expensive option at the marina.

Perfect Family Getaway
This was an amazing family vacation. The house was big enough for all of us. Every room had their own bathroom, which was perfect for privacy. Location was a bit out of the way, however, having Bentley set up the transportation was perfect. Bentley, the house manager was a dream come true. We were there during election so Grenada was on a whole other level of excitement and fun.

Pearl is amazing. The property has a unique access road. I wish I had rented a jeep. The property itself needs a really good week of maintenance (powerwash, cleaning inside, grounds cleanup.) We had issues with the pool, a large water leak out of a wall (including electrical light switch,) and a plugged A/C drain. Kitchen cabinets are in disrepair. Hot water is hit or miss as it is only solar... You must be led to the property upon arrival, as there is no street address per se. Did I mention that Pearl is amazing?

This place is awesome! Pearl is a jewel- so helpful and easy to get ahold of. Our party consisted of 10 with 3 small children. They had so much fun playing in the pool and just relaxing in between our excursions.

Fabulous views overlooking the gorgeous La Sargesse beach.
Really lovey property which was easy to use and had a very sociable space with a large kitchen, dining sitting room downstairs as well as a big terrace. Good bedrooms all en-suite which was fabulous! The property was definitely more tired than I had expected with some rust and general wear and tear and it was a shame that all the old woodwork was in a pile in the garden but I guess it is difficult to keep on top of a house near the sea. The construction site of a new hotel was the major downside for us. It was very intrusive and incredibly noisy at times, starting at 7am and going on to at least 7pm. The only time they had off was a Sunday afternoon. They cleared a lot of ground below the house while I was there and it did disrupt what would otherwise have been the most fabulous view. It still was a great view but you had to look over the building site. I was there for three weeks and it was great getting to know people at La Sargesse who were all so friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed a couple of meals at Calabash which was beautiful and a real treat. One fabulous part of this trip was Bentley - the house manager. He could not have been more helpful. He was always friendly and polite and ready to help out in every way. He managed to get a letter from the Ministry of Health to allow my nephew to come despite only having one vaccine, he got a doctor for my father and went out of his way to find us some fish and ribs. A truly great asset! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful unspoiled island getaway
A lovely, breezy, well-appointed and roomy home for our family trip to Grenada. We appreciated Pearl's attentiveness in making sure we were happy with our trip, and the peaceful location of the home. It offered everything we were looking for - comfortable and spacious bedrooms, kitchen and living area, a refreshing pool and sun deck, and proximity to the beautiful La Sagesse beach. An adventurous drive to the lovely hiking and waterfalls of Grand Etang, and the town and beaches of St. George. So relaxing! We would love to return!

My husband, mother and 2 children visited from Marchb16-26 2019. Bentley picked us up promptly from the airport and brought us to the house. It is about a 1/2 hour drive from St George's. The house has spectacular views and an ocean breeze we miss!! What we loved: the balconies Every room has own bathroom Breeze Proximity to driving lots of places around the island- a car is almost a must Laura's Beach bar at the Marina- great food and super vibe What we noticed: The house needs upkeep..many areas that need attending to..furniture and appliances are tired..shower fixtures broken..overall..it could use some TLC It didn't detract from our holiday..but some people might be put off.

lovely natural setting!
This is an absolutely lovely location overlooking La Sagesse Bay. it is a relaxed and away from it all setting that we loved. The owner is fantastic and will get right back to you via phone even in the US! Bentley the manager is a gem. I highly recommend Zingiber!

Just wonderful!
Our group of six spent a great week in Grenada and Zingiber was our very comfortable home away from home. We couldn't have made a better choice for accommodation in terms of having more than adequate space and serenity. Bentley was delightful and very helpful in pre-stocking the fridge and offering to assist with car rental and Nigel was a pleasure to deal with – extremely accommodating and responsive during our planning and booking stage. The villa is exactly as advertised, clean and attractive, with a magnificent view of La Sagesse beach below where we had a couple of delightful early morning swims. We had many meals at the villa as the kitchen was fully equipped and cooking was easy. We never got around to trying the restaurant on the beach but it was always a nearby option. The villa is situated about 20 mins from the capital St. Georges. It's off the main road and along a pebbled road which can be slow going, but overall the location didn't feel at all far from anything whenever we ventured out sightseeing. Actually it was positioned well for our drives up the East Coast. Everyone had the same opinion of Zingiber – it's a beautiful, well laid out villa – we loved it! And all agreed we would go back for a stay there in a heartbeat!

Our stay in Zingiber
We stayed in Zingiber from 6th Feb through to 20th and would recommend the villa highly. From the outset Nigel (the owner) was very quick to respond. He was extremely helpful, describing the accommodation & making recommendations for our holiday in Grenada. He is a great ambassador for the island. Zingiber looks down on the beautiful bay of La Sagesse. Three bedrooms, the living room and kitchen/dining room all look out onto the bay. Two remaining bedrooms (both twin) are located at the front of the house, these too are well equipt, spacious and bright although they do not share the same view of the bay. All the bedrooms have ensuite bathroom, there is also an extra toilet downstairs. The infinity pool also looks out onto the bay and is kept extremely clean. We especially enjoyed the outside shower beside the pool a very clever addition to the outside facilities. The house is spacious, comfortable & bright throughout. It is luxurious yet homely and very well equipt for a holiday. There is a large kitchen with a huge American style fridge and living area adjoining the informal dining/kitchen area. There is an ample supply of well kept garden furniture. During February it was generally breezy at the house ( I think this helps ward off any undesirable bugs/mosquitoes). Great drying conditions too for any washing or wet togs and towels. I should also mention the plentiful supply of towels - beach, pool and bathroom. In addition to the great facilities of Zingiber another asset to Nigel is Mr Bentley Skeete. Bentley manages the property and keeps on top of any minor repairs. But it was his warm, welcoming personality, wealth of good suggestions and his great conversation which will remain for us all an abiding memory of our stay in Grenada. Bentley organised the hire of a 7 seater for us, collected us at the airport, took our luggage in his own car and leading us to the property. The journey time from the airport to Zingiber is approximately 35mins by car. (Watch out for the Grenadan driving - it's a whole new experience - take care!) The best beaches and restaurants are located in the SW/SE corner of the island (again about 30/35mins by car each way). The house is located at the end of a longish, unpaved road (about 2 miles). La Sagesse Nature Centre for food, a swim and friendly service at any time of the day is very handy. All in all, a great holiday, a beautiful place and with the addition of Bentley - highly recommended!

Beautiful villa in secluded location
We arrived on a slightly delayed flight but Bentley the manager was waiting outside for us. He drove us to the villa and showed us everything and also sorted our first day shop for us. It was already dark so could not really see the grounds or view but the next morning, oh my, what a view. It's very secluded with a few other villas around. The villa next door is quite close but there were no one staying during our visit so it was completely quiet. The villa had all the facilities we needed and spent quite a bit of time by the pool and having bbqs on the patio outside. You can easily walk down to the beach or drive which is only 10minutes. La Sagesse Beach is great since it's not busy at all and has some facilities (bar, restaurant, loungers) or you can spend the whole day on your own on the other side of the beach. We found the beach and surroundings to be beautiful and completely safe. The locals are very friendly and found people in Grenada in general to be very friendly and helpful. A drive into town to Grand Anse took about 30 minutes since you can't drive too fast on the small roads. Watch out for taxis/minibus, they don't use their indicators. The big supermarket close to Grand Anse stocked everything we needed and we always stopped there on the way back after a day on Grand Anse Beach. They are open till quite late. There is also a smaller supermarket about 10minutes drive from the villa which stocks essentials (beer, wine, milk, eggs bread) We got a car rental delivered to the villa the next day and Bentley knew the rental company and I had no problems with them either. Would recommend them as they are located close to the villa. The villa had aircons in all rooms and the main living area which were good since it was very hot during our stay. I think someone else mentioned the mattresses were quite hard and we found it to be the same, but everything else about this place was amazing. We actually extended our stay by 3 days after 1 night since we were so happy with the villa and Grenada. Nigel was quick to respond and allowed us to stay no problem. Bentley checked in with us twice during our stay and he also organised a local mobile although I didn't use it. We stayed a total of 7 days and would definitely recommend Villa Zingiber and will definitely be back. Thanks again to Bentley who kindly bailed me out with Petrol money as the petrol station didn't accept card payments. (carry EC dollars) Thanks again!

Paradise Isle
Having never been to Grenada and being from jamaican heritage i was very impressed with the island and its people, friendly, welcoming and inclusive. Zingiber itself is a fantastic villa - a home from home. It is very modern and spacious with all the modcons, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, TV, DVD player with a variety of books and films to entertain, just in case you got bored with the spectacular view. Very well kept and light and airy. We also got married during our 3week stay and even with 9 of us in the villa we didn't get on top of each other with plenty of space for everyone to do their own thing. The housekeeper was very discreet when she came in and was very quick and efficient about her business. Bentley the property manager was a font of knowledge and our stay would not have been half as enjoyable without his recommendations. Zingiber is located on a discreet hilltop, secluded and quiet so would definately recommend a car. It is also about 30mins from St Georges where the main hotels and restaurants are situated but still not too far if using taxis. Lassages beach is nearby and can be reached by a 15-20min beach road walk and definately worth the stroll. Also on the beach is the hotel with great friendly staff and great food at a reasonable price. I would definately recommend Zingiber to stay whilst visiting Grenada and genuinely cannot say enough about it. Experience it for yourselves and you will definately want a return visit just as we intend to do next year!

Perfect Lodging for a La Sagesse Wedding
It is hard to describe how wonderful this place is!! Zingiber is perfect for the family of the bride (or anyone else who wants to enjoy a breathtaking view of La Sagesse and beyond). It is a drive from St. George's and Grand Anse, but it is within walking distance of La Sagesse, which worked great for our large family. We rented a car, but the roads are not easy to drive so we often hired Boney from La Sagesse to taxi us around. (By the way, Boney is THE person to feed the monkeys with in the rain forest. They know his car and his voice. An incredible experience!) Zingiber has an unbelievable view. We sat on the veranda and patio, and swam in the infinity pool as much as possible. The sliding glass doors open wide to provide a glorious ocean breeze and expand the living area. Over the course of the wedding week, Zingiber housed our entire family and a few friends. Zingiber also served as the idyllic location for the Wedding Eve dinner. We enjoyed cocktails on the veranda overlooking the beach where the wedding would take place the next morning. Magical! We hired Island Catering to deliver the meal. They took care of everything, taking advantage of the generous seating and spacious great room at Zingiber. I have decided that is the absolute best way to enjoy a special occasion. On the morning of the wedding, our daughter was able to get ready at the beautiful villa before her dad escorted her on the five minute drive to La Sagesse. She felt, and looked, like a princess. The owner, Nigel, and the villa manager, Bentley, were wonderful to work with. Attentive, friendly, accommodating. We will definitely return to this secluded, quiet, gorgeous villa.
