"This is an absolutely beautiful and special place. Our room/suite was huge inside with a nice sitting area, a gigantic bathroom and very large bedroom. Wraparound balcony. The beach faces east to the Atlantic and mostly no one is there, outrageously gorgeous. Sunrise is spectacular. The restaurant has very nice freshly made food, very thoughtfully prepared, tasty. Less local-style cuisine than we would prefer and not a super wide array of options for vegetarians staying for 5-6 days but still very enjoyable and they are very accommodating. Fantastic included breakfasts. Pool is great, small but few people using it, and very nice, clean, good temperature. The grounds are beautiful, lush green with flowers, and the sounds (birds, frogs etc) are fabulous. The river is very pretty going down to the sea. The gym is cute and we did use it. There is no AC in it and the humidity is intense to work out in but I was glad for the opportunity. This is not the place for people looking to be around populated-type activities like going out to eat, and not easily accessible to the west coast tourist attractions. It’s also not a luxury-type resort with fancy-place vibes. This is for you if you are looking for remote, quiet, reasonably-priced real nature spot that is unique and special and has a local feel to it. Clean and comfortable and incredibly peaceful with stunning natural beauty. "

"We had a lovely, comfortable and relaxing five nights at Villa Vista in Calibishie. It’s a beautiful place with a great view. Lots of relaxing outdoor/indoor space and a hot tub. We really enjoyed staying there. "

"We loved our stay at Serenity Lodge! We chose it as our plane arrived late in the day at the airport and after a long day of travel, we didn’t want to drive far. It was the perfect place to stay. Not only for the location close to the Douglas- Charles Airport, but, more importantly, for the opportunity to meet Lester and Carina. A wonderful couple who warmly welcomed us, made a delicious dinner and made us feel at home! Their place is spotless, comfortable, and quiet! We loved it and will return."

"The hotel is magical, just as it looks in the photo…..Everyone is super friendly and very helpful …The only meal I had was breakfast and it was delicious…. One thing though after paying all that money a night at least meals should be part of it but despite my one only hiccup sadly it has to end but enjoyed my stay immensely….I will definitely be back in the future…."

"Myself and 5 other family members stayed at this location for 10 days. The view alone is enough to book the place! It is absolutely stunning. Every bedroom and the dining/living room have doors that open up to one of the two terraces. You have a prime view of Hodges bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Just along the side of the house is a trail that leads down to Hodges bay where you can swim in the bay and/or the Mamelabou River. The trail is mostly made of natural stairs so can be tough for those who are not as able bodied. We found that the beach part of the bay and the entrance of the river is rather shallow which made it very nice to relax in. There were some days that had more sargassum than others, but that’s just the ocean for ya! The house is absolutely lovely and well maintained. The owners have done a wonderful job at furnishing things for their visitors. They even provide toiletries that you wouldn’t typically receive at a hotel. Razors/shavers were provided, toothpaste tubes, bug bite relief products, towels for the beach, etc. The kitchen is fully stocked with appliances and dishes needed for cooking, baking, eating. The owners are very kind people, as well as, their property manager Kelvin. Kelvin was great to work with. We had a couple incidents happen (none at the fault of anyone, just normal maintenance) and Kelvin was always very helpful and ensured fixes were taken care of. Their driver, Harvey, is the best on the island, if needed! 10/10!!!!"
