This place was clean and just as described. Dana and Will were very nice and responsive. We loved how peaceful the location was. We would definitely stay again.
We didn’t get to stay long as we just used the location to sleep during the Olympic Wrestling Trials in State College, but the cottage was clean and in a very nice secluded location. Would definitely stay again! The owners are also very responsive.
Dana & Will have the perfect spot outside of State College, best enjoyed by mountain bikers & hikers! Our team enjoyed the large space to team dinner and preparing for the Raven Enduro.
Remote mountain retreat with close proximity to Penn State University
Spacious, quiet with lots of room to spread out! I was a little surprised at how remote the property was but it worked well for us this weekend. Super comfy bed in master bedroom!
Super cute yet rustic place that was perfect for our small group heading to the area for Poe Valley and Poe Paddy Parks for hiking, biking, and hanging at the lake. Clean with everything we needed. Hosts were extremely accommodating in returning something to us that was left in the cottage.
The communication from the owner both through Vrbo and in terms of directions printed at the property were excellent. The property itself was well maintained and had all of the necessary accoutrements available. All in all, the weekend stay was a great one and the property largely made that a reality.
We enjoyed the cottage. Unique design. All the amenities needed were provided. Nice area to take a hike and enjoy the forest area. Will definitely return on another visit to that area.
What a wonderful stay. We enjoyed the deck every morning, exploring the day away in the forest, and enjoying a good night sleep on a comfortable bed. We loved not having reception most of the time as we really just wanted to be away from everything. Will and Dana were awesome on the communication front and let us know immediately when things changed. Loved our stay and definitely plan on coming back.
PSU graduation weekend. This was a great base Of operations. The house and surrounding area is super cute and fairly convenient to State College. The house slept our group of 5 fine and the poker table was a big hit for game night fun. The owner brought by a corkscrew at a moments notice when we texted her that it wasn’t anywhere to be found. They live nearby. I wish the weather had been better.
3 friends and I stayed for the weekend just to get away. We did a 5 mile hike, walked to a nearby winery and then hiked again around the property. Such a peaceful and beautiful area. We sat on the porch to have our coffee and talk while listening to birds and spring peepers. The cabin was clean and cozy and we spent evenings around the table eating and playing games. Lovely property and we all felt refreshed and renewed when we left. Just what we were looking for!😊
The cabin is a remodeled garage done well. The rooms were spotlessly clean. Beds were comfortable. There is no internet or live tv. Didn't need it. Short (1/2 hour) drive to the campus for football! Homan's General Store which is just down the road is a true deli. Great hoagies. Will recommend and who knows, maybe next year for a game.
The drive back a long gravel road led to a wonderfully secluded farmhouse behind the trees. There were no sounds other than the bugs and birds in the woods. I don't have any bad things to say about this place, but to those who may be surprised, the water definitely has some Sulphur in it. This can be shocking to someone who doesn't understand that it isn't actually bad.
This is the most adorable cabin that just oozes charm, to say I was pleased is quite the understatement. I had the best sleep I've had in a long time on the most comfortable bed I think I've ever been on! It's a little off the beaten path which is one of the qualities that add to its charm but still a quick drive to State College and many of the region's attractions. Would I stay here again? In a heartbeat, it will be the first place I look into next time I'm coming to the region and I'm kicking myself for not finding it earlier. The hosts specifically Dana was quick to respond to my "pre-trip" questions. Best "PSU move out weekend ever!"
Outstanding beds, great place for a peaceful, relaxing space just outside of State College. Will be on our list for future visits as it was a great place for peace, quiet, and rest in the woods! Wonderful communication and a great experience.
Loved this little cottage! Perfect location for PSU activities, as it is just a quick jaunt through the woods to Old 322 and then a straight shot to downtown! Nice and quiet…didn’t even hear the people who rented the larger home that the cottage is built on. I would absolutely stay here again!! ***make sure sure that your navigation apps have you approaching Decker Valley Road from the 322 entrance, or you’ll be driving on some crazy narrow roads and ATV trails to get there!!
Absolutely terrific place to get back to nature and reconnect with your friends and family. We went away during the day but played games on the poker table and talked every evening. The beds are very comfortable as is the other furniture. There is a cider press off the driveway where I enjoyed watching a cider press from 1860-1880 making cider. I brought 2 gallons home. Close to Penn's Cave which was attraction we came to see. We also enjoyed the antique mall in Milroy. Except for the rainy weather this was a wonderful weekend getaway
Group of friends participating in the IronMan 70.3 Pennsylvania. Rented the cottage for additional space to spread out. Nice that they were interconnected
