Located 10 miles outside of Spearfish SD(on a minimal maintenance gravel road. There are washboards and it is dusty), in the heart of the Black Hills National Forest. This 1800 square foot, 2 bedroom, 2 bath log home is the perfect place to relax and enjoy all the Black Hills have to offer. This home can sleep 8 comfortably. Sit on the deck overlooking an open meadow that is home to many deer and other wildlife and enjoy the morning sunrise or our spectacular view of the sunset. Many marked walking trails within minutes of the property. The snowmobile and UTV trails are within a mile or two from the cabin, you can ride out from the cabin. If you are looking to cool off with a dip in the water, Iron Creek Lake is approximately 1.5 miles from the cabin. After dark settle in to view the spectacular showing of stars. With very little light pollution you have a birds eye view of the wonderful night sky.

Family Get-away!
This cabin was so cute and very clean and well stocked with all the essentials and then some! This quiet, secluded mountain home was the perfect place to take my family of 5 for a little getaway! Close access to hiking and atv trails was awesome! We loved the iron creek lake close by too! The manager was excellent to work with which made our stay even that much better!

Wonderfully quiet
Beautiful cabin, way too big for just us two, I could have brought my whole family, but then it wouldn’t have been so nice and quiet…everything that you could want and more is there. Enjoyed the outdoor fire pit, it was 102 back home but nice and cool there so lit a fire. Would definitely stay again!

We were hoping it was as nice as it looks, and it definitely exceded our expectations! Very nice and very well stocked. Great base for our snowmobile trip. Easy ride out to trail 1 or 3. Great communication from/with the owners.

We stayed here for our family vacation.
First of all, I never write reviews, but this was the best VRBO we have ever stayed in. The cabin was super clean and very well stocked with anything you could’ve forgotten to pack. The host had many games and movies to watch, which was great with kids. We loved the outdoor fire pit area as well. We highly recommend renting from Colleen.

Weekend Retreat
Beautiful cabin with all the amenities needed to have a relaxing retreat. The owners have thought of everything needed to make your stay comfortable including a well stocked kitchen. Cabin is located in a quiet valley where you can watch the wildlife in the morning and evening. We did not want to leave and plan to come back!

We enjoyed this nice cabin. We were surprised and glad there was Wi-Fi at this cabin…the online listing said it didn’t have Wi-Fi. We were also glad there was a dishwasher there. It had lots of games and things to do for the kids. The kitchen was well stocked. Thank you!

Excellent Home on the mountain prairie view.
We had a very nice time the cabin was clean and although it was in the 90's at the lower elevations it was a lot cooler in the mountain cabin with no A/C. You did not need it with the high ceilings and cool nights. Lots of trails near by and a small lake. Would go back and Colleen was a great host.

1000% would stay again
The house is perfect. It was rainy a few days we were there but with the covered deck, living space and loft we had plenty of room without feeling like we were on top of one another. The wildlife was great to watch every night, and we often looked forward to watch the deer play at night. The house had everything we needed and more, and the owners were very communicative. The offroading trails were right off the lane, and hiking trails were just a couple of miles north. 10/10.

Home in the Country
This cabin has all the comforts of home but you are high on a mountain far from civilization.It has a fully stocked kitchen with all kinds of condiments, a full spice rack and nice German knife set. As Colleen explained it, you don't want to drive 10 miles back to town if you needed something for a recipe. The cabin was complete with extras like a wood burning stove with plenty of fire material and an outdoor heater out on the deck.

Best cabin ever
To start if you like being way out but not to far from town, this is it. Absolutely beautiful and well equipped. Beds are so comfortable and so much in the cabin. It has Wi-Fi Netflix top shelf coffee pot even a keruig Or however you spell it. Just the nicest Vrbo we’ve ever had. Elk bugling in the hills while drinking coffee sucking up the beauty of the valley. 2 large king bedrooms. Plus a huge, let me say it again Huge loft with 2 queen beds couch and tv up stairs. It’s only 10 miles from town but it’s about a 20 min drive because of the road but you may just want to rake 30 minutes because it’s such a beautiful drive.. the property owners are the best. I will definitely be back
