Come stay the night in the gorgeous Harbor View rental in Southwest Harbor, Maine! Harbor View is located just minutes outside of downtown Southwest Harbor on a hill overlooking the beautiful port that gives the town it’s name. Enjoy a cup of coffee on the spacious porch while watching local lobster-fishermen leave the harbor beneath a Maine sunrise or maybe a refreshing cold beverage while admiring the view of the Cranberry Islands. Harbor View can hold eleven guests comfortably, making it perfect for a multiple family getaway, and several TVs and living areas make for wonderful nights together enjoying games and movies.
The incredible location of Harbor View in what is known as “The Quietside” of Mount Desert Island is possibly the largest advantage of the property. Southwest Harbor used to be a small fishing village and retains a vibrant small-town fishing community. A five minute walk to downtown Southwest Harbor allows you to spend time exploring local restaurants and shops. The Quietside is packed with some of Acadia National Park’s most beautiful hiking trails and views, including the famous Bass Harbor Lighthouse, and the gorgeous lakes of Long Pond and Echo Lake, which are perfect for swimming during warm summer months. Harbor View is just a fifteen minute drive from downtown Bar Harbor and the countless restaurants that the town holds while also allowing you to avoid the overwhelming cruise ship traffic and packed atmosphere of Bar Harbor in the summer months. Southwest Harbor provides its own opportunities for both private boat rentals and fishing tours on the untouched waters in the Gulf of Maine.
