The good: You can hear the lake from the property. The backyard is very pretty. The house was quite clean. The beds were comfortable. The back room and deck were quite lovely. Scott was responsive.
The not so good: It's a solid 30-minute walk at a brisk pace to downtown. Quite a bit farther down Monroe Blvd than we realized when booking. It was a bit light on the little things, like there wasn't a hair dryer. The towels and washcloths were synthetic fiber, maybe microfiber? They don't move easily across wet skin. And we had a bat in the house at 2 a.m. Not just a little fruit bat, either. A big brown bat with a wingspan of about a foot that was very freaked out and flying everywhere, high, low, at your head.... We managed to shoo it outside and I let Scott know. He said he will be looking into it. I suspect it came from the basement, as the house is pretty solid, but the basement has lots of spots bats might like, and there's a large gap in the door to the basement. We stuffed a towel in the gap after the bat incident just in case he had friends living down there. Also, WiFi can be dodgy, especially if there's a sudden crush of visitors in town, which there was.
Scott was nice and there are good things about the house, but overall this property just wasn't for us.
