Maple Street Cottage on the Corner is located in beautiful South Haven, Michigan in a wonderful family friendly neighborhood. This cute house turned a 100 years old in 2020 and has been given a new look! Walking distance, only 2 blocks to South Beach using the Blue Stairs. Your kids will love the big waves and sandy shoreline of South Beach during the day and evening walks into town for ice cream before watching the Lake Michigan sunset. Master bedroom on the main floor has a queen bed & attached bathroom located under the stairs. The guest bedroom has a queen bed, bunk room has a queen bed & twin over full bunk bed are both located upstairs, there is no upstairs bathroom. There is also a queen size pull out couch in the living room. Spacious fully stocked kitchen for preparing meals with bar seating as well as table sitting. Shared laundry room and bathroom is located off the kitchen. Large covered front porch with swing is ideal for drinking morning coffee or evening cocktails. Large back deck is great if you want to enjoy your meals outside. Shaded yard is perfect for kids to play.

Cute Clean Cottage on the Corner
Great stay with my three sisters for a quick get away to South Haven Michigan !! Plenty of room and kitchen was well supplied!! We didn’t find bikes but really didn’t find time for them !! Great neighborhood went for a nice easy walk to beach and around the area !!

October Family Getaway

Very nice cottage. Quaint and close (2blocks) to beach. Second time here and love the front porch sitting on a quiet street. Coffee maker had moldy coffee grinds when we arrived, some windows were left unlocked upon first entering the house, and a container of McDonalds fries were left in the upstairs bedroom between bed and nightstand. Perhaps a more thorough attention to detail in cleaning is needed, otherwise a wonderful stay with a well equipped kitchen. Thank you!

Great location for a family stay
After many years staying with family in South Haven, this was the first time we'd stayed "as far south" of downtown as this or took advantage of the Kids Corner park a block away. It was a great location for accessing the park, the beach, and the bike trail (starts across the street) that heads south to Van Buren State Park. The house was ideal for our family of five and a mid-week visitor. Having the main restroom off the kitchen was no deal for us, but might be something that some groups might find less than ideal. As advertised, the house was well stocked with kitchen gear and tableware. There were also lots of supplies for the beach...chairs, umbrellas, wagon, bikes, raft, toys, etc. It is a great Cottage on the Corner.

You will love your stay here!
We really enjoyed our stay here for our family vacation! It is so close to the kid's corner park and the blue stairs to the beach. It was so nice to just walk there instead of loading the kids in and out of the car each time. It's a really quiet area and was so relaxing to sit out on the front porch at night. The kitchen is well stocked and has everything you need including a ton of kids plates bowls and cups silverware, high chair, 2 different coffee makers, air fryer and more. We also met the owner while we were there and she was so nice! I definitely recommend this place for families!

Perfect location!
We really enjoyed our stay at this cottage in South Haven. It was very clean and the location was absolutely perfect- just a quick walk down the street to the playground and beach, and a short walk to town. The house had everything we needed and we loved the front porch and appreciated the old house charm. We would love to go back!

4 blocks from the beach and 1/2 a mile from the downtown shops - was the perfect place for my girlfriends and I to stay. Although 'in town' it was quiet enough to open the windows to listen to the waves without traffic noise. Will definitely be back!

This is an absolutely great location near the playground and beach with super well equipped kitchen. It was hard not having a bathroom upstairs though as we had small children that had to go up and down the stairs.

Girls Weekend
Had a great stay for Shop til you drop Saturday. Great quiet location with walking distance to town. Wonderful room for all six of us. Enjoyed the porch and deck even if it was on the cooler side. Communication with the owner was exceptional. Highly recommend.

Great location!
We stayed at Cottage on the Corner for 5 days over fall break. Our group of 6 was very comfortable in the house and had everything we needed for a great stay. We cooked a couple meals at the house and the kitchen is better stocked than any house we have ever rented. We enjoyed the front porch swing and used the provided bikes. We loved being so close to Kid’s Korner and the blue stairs.

Our overall stay was wonderful! Great location! Close to Lake Michigan. Very walkable!! We had two concerns. #1. Both full baths are on the first floor. #2. The steps are narrow going upstairs and when you almost get to the top of stairs, there is no railing to grab on to at the top. Can be dangerous of older people.

Great location and the front porch is amazing. The upstairs bedrooms are not ideal if you need to use a bathroom during the night because the floors squeak like crazy. The house itself is perfect for a small group and you can’t beat the location!

Perfect location
My husband, tween-age kids and our dear friends all stayed at the cottage for 4 days and 3 nights and we lvoed it! The location was as ideal is it gets - we walked EVERYWHERE, to South Beach and all around the downtown South Haven area. When we had issues with the dryer not working, the owners responded and let us know we didn't have to worry about starting a laundry load before leaving. The bunk bed was noisy when my kids turned in bed, and the floors were creaky upstairs but that is to be expected in an older home! I only mention it because for light sleepers it might be an issue, but my kids slept fine with the sound machine on we brought from home. The neighborhood was very quiet at night even with the blueberrry festival going on! We were very happy at the cottage and would absolutely come back.

Cozy Cottage - We are Smitten!
We had a wonderful stay at this cozy cottage! Plenty of space for all of us and every amenity we needed courteous of our thoughtful hosts. Easy walk to the beach and incredible playground. Peaceful front porch with a swing to watch the world go by. Highly recommend as a great place to get away!

Fall Break Weekend
We needed a Michigan fix and decided on South Haven for fall break. The Cottage on the Corner was all that we needed and more. Our kids loved the proximity to the park and we lucked out with amazing weather so access to the beach was too easy as well. The house was clean and roomy for our family of 4, and my kids (5and 8) loved the outdoor spaces on the front porch and back deck. They diligently swept off all the leaves for 45 min one afternoon and were so happy- great for mom and dad! The only thing I couldn’t find was a teapot. Otherwise it had all you could want in the kitchen , and I very well could have missed it in all that cabinet space! A wonderful space where memories were made. Thank you for such a welcoming place in this sweet Michigan town.

Perfect Family Spot!
This home away from home was perfect for my family (Me, husband, son, son's best friend, and my mother)! The house has everything we needed (except dressers, but that's no big deal). The boys LOVED being so close to kid's corner, and we are Blue Stairs people so being a straight shot was perfect. The house was very clean and felt like it was recently spruced. The ensuite off the main floor primary is absolutely charming. I called it the Harry Potter bathroom all week. A very clever use of space to give an old home a little something modern! The porch is also something special. Great size, love the corner for people watching, and the swings wonderful. We would absolutely stay here again. We plan on adding a furbaby to the family this year, so we won't stay again anytime soon, as we need a pet friendly rental. If we are back in SoHa, pet free, we definitely hope we can snag this gem again!

Great Location Minimal Space
The owner was wonderful to work with. The location of the house was perfect - close to Kids Korner and the Blue Stairs that lead down to South Beach. We sure enjoyed the wonderful front porch with the swing and the back deck offered another useful outside place for us to hang out. So appreciated the use of the bicycles and beach chairs. The indoor space was limiting for our family. The layout was inconvenient for spending family time in the living room as it was so small. The master bedroom had an extremely small bathroom tucked under the stairway. Plus there wasn’t a dresser, so we had to live out of our suitcase. There is no bathroom upstairs for anyone staying in those two bedrooms. The bunk bed was so squeaky our granddaughter wasn’t able to sleep on the upper bunk leaving us short one bed. The house itself was very clean; however the landscaping was in need of weeding. While we enjoyed our week, it will not work for our family to return again next year.
