We really enjoyed our stay here! The property was very clean and had all the amenities that we needed. Looked newly renovated - nice decor. Well located to the park by the east gate. Perfect for those looking to spend a few days exploring in the park!
I felt at home as soon as I unlocked the security door. This is a brand new property in every way. The owners were easily reachable and are genuinely concerned with their guests welfare.
Very nice home, ideally located and an extremely warm and responsive host.
Pictures do justice to the place.
Except that you had to carry extra baggage to bring with you sheets, pillows and towels - overall a wonderful experience. Our cat daughter Jhansi enjoyed the place,
Will definitely go back.
Great spot near Algonquin East Gate! Casey was incredibly responsive, and the pictures don't really do the place justice. The property is up on a hill, adjacent to a school, and surrounded by deciduous trees with a touch of shield rock. Comfortable beds/furniture, and the fire pit and BBQ are added bonus'! You won't regret renting this place...
This property was exactly what we were looking for; peaceful. We had easy access to Algonquin for some lovely hikes as the house is not far from East gate. The home is newly renovated, clean, organized and fully stocked. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was modern. There was never "I wish I had..." because it was there! The mud room was our favourite as it provided huge windows and lovely light to pour in for a morning coffee. Beautiful! We will be back! Thank you so much!
We had a wonderful stay! The house was spotless when we arrived and newly renovated. The pictures don't do it justice! It was quite lovely. We had four adults and two children and there was plenty of room for us all. We used the house as our base to explore Algonquin and visit other family members who were staying in the campground. We also spent time at the gorgeous beach in Whitney. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. The full sized BBQ was a welcome surprise. We would highly recommend this location and would be happy to stay again. Thanks!
I’ve just come back from 12 days staying at the Whitney House Retreat with my pups. This was the second time that I stayed at this place. I love the proximity to all the trails, not only those within Algonquin proper. It’s also a really nice location - you can listen to the beautiful sounds of the river while enjoying a backyard fire, barbecue, and the sounds of the birds & critters living in the forest behind the property. In addition to backing onto the forest, I love the shield rock and the birch trees surrounding the property. It’s a special place.
Casey is an excellent host, and the place is nicely decorated and quite comfortable. I look forward to visiting again!
This very clean, 3 bedroom renovated home was a pleasure to stay at while we explored the Eastern side of Algonquin Park. We also took the opportunity to pop over to Barry’s Bay and visit Grumblin’ Granny’s, which was worth the side trip. The home was well equipped with everything we needed. That the owners allowed us to bring our dog was a game changer. We highly recommend this rental.
This is the 2nd summer we have enjoyed a week at this location. The house is clean and comfortable, the pictures don't do it justice! The local beach in Whitney is 3 minutes away and is just beautiful! Sandy, warm and clean! The East Gate of the park is just 10 minutes down the road. We look forward to booking a stay next summer.
