We're not a typical vacation rental where you do all the work – we're a "take care of you" property, like a private hotel with amenities, services, and a full-time staff. Meals, cooking services, and driver services (he provides the vehicle) are available at an extra charge.



Is your ideal vacation all about serenity and relaxation? Start your day in the gazebo with a cup of smooth local coffee or a cappuccino, watching the sailboats glide along the sea (under a rainbow if you're lucky). After a breakfast of local fruit and homemade waffles, slide into the pool and float, warmed by the Caribbean sun, surrounded by cashew trees and brilliant bougainvillea, with the postcard-perfect panorama of the Pitons and the Caribbean stretching across the horizon.



Have Doxie's pumpkin soup and bakes for a delicious light lunch, then pack up our snorkel gear and head to Anse Chastanet beach (a 6-minute drive away) for an afternoon snorkel. Back at the villa, watch the sun set over the Caribbean in streaks of brilliant pink and orange while you sip on local spiced rum with ginger ale, then dine on grilled freshly caught fish marinated in local seasonings with a salad, rice, and chocolate cake (from local cocoa, of course).



As the sky deepens to deep purple velvet and the stars emerge, take the speakers outside and listen to your favorite music while you talk with your friends/family, or just sit in awe of the beauty. Look up to see the inky black sky with billions of stars (no light pollution!) and the Milky Way flowing across it. Watch for shooting stars. Then sink into bed and sleep deeply in the quiet, with just the breeze rustling the leaves and the singing of the tree frogs as a lullaby.

Get up as the first fingers of dawn creep down from the mountains, grab some snacks and fill up our thermoses with water - you're headed to climb a mountain! Get a guide at the Anse L'ivrogne beach for the 2600-foot hike/climb or make it a little easier by starting higher up from Fond Gens Libre. Rather SCUBA dive? Go out with Action Adventure Divers ("Chester"). ATV's your speed? Head to Choisel for an ATV ride through the rainforest then chase each other along black sand beaches.



Whether you want to just relax or be very active, or a mix of the two, our friendly staff will help you have a memorable vacation. They'll keep the villa clean, help you plan your activities, and anything else you need to make your vacation truly unforgettable. We've stocked the villa with adventure gear for you (beach chairs/towels/umbrella/blankets, coolers, snorkel gear, etc.) and have WiFi throughout the villa with Alexa and Amazon Music Unlimited to make your stay even more convenient!



FAQ:

Staff: Just like at a hotel, our staff has to be on-property most of the time. They will ask for permission before entering the villa. You may ask them for privacy and they will do as many indoor chores as possible when you are gone, and go outside when they are done inside on days you stay at the villa. You may not require the staff to completely leave the property. Since the villa is open-air, the Housekeeper must be allowed inside at least every other day to clean.



Driver: We're happy to provide you information on the driver's pricing – please ask. If you wish to hire him, just let us know – you do not need to contact him yourself.



Housekeeper: Doxie usually comes up every day, arriving around 9 or 9:30AM and leaving mid afternoon. She sweeps, vacuums or mops as needed, cleans the common areas, does your dishes, makes the beds, and replenishes supplies. She will wash your clothes upon request. She does not pick up your belongings and you may close your beroom door if you wish her to stay out. We have hotel-type safes in the bedroom closets for your valuables. However, if you are off-property, she has the right to enter a closed bedroom to turn off the air conditioner, fans, lights, etc.



Minimizing staff interaction: If you prefer as few people around as possible, we have a "Privacy" option where the daytime staff are on-property only when you are off property. This is only available if you hire our partner driver, Junior, for your transportation needs. Please contact us for details if you are interested in this option.



Cooking/meals: Cooking services are extra and are from $14US to $28US to cook a meal for up to six people (you pay for the groceries; price varies with the meal). A meal plan that includes the groceries is also available - ask for pricing.



Insects and other small creatures: It is a tropical location and the house is open-air (no glass over the windows and doors are often left open) so there will be some insects and anoles (like geckoes) and perhaps other small creatures (birds, maybe even a bat or a mouse). We have mosquito-control traps and treat regularly for other insects. Several stray cats have adopted us and keep the mouse population low so we don't set poison out for mice. To minimize the number of insects that come in at night, turn off all the lights inside the house if you are outdoors and close all the doors if you are inside.



Air-conditioning: Given the open nature of the house, including interior walls that do not go to the ceiling, the air conditioning in the bedrooms will not be able to cool the rooms. They blow cool air on the beds to make sleeping a little more comfortable.



Welcome pack: For your first night, we include some beverages (hard and soft), some snacks (such as chips and salsa if available), and a simple dinner of salad and roti. You won't need to worry about where to go for dinner your first night and can just start relaxing when you arrive.



Children: The villa and grounds pose inherent dangers for young children, including 220V outlets up 18 inches from the floor, chemicals stored in places children can access, and a 30-foot drop from the back railing to the forest below. Our staff's duties do not include watching children, although they can arrange a babysitter for you at an extra charge.
