"Great location for access to Saint Mathieu and the lake. Good sized bedrooms, plenty of decent crockery, etc. No frills but adequately met our needs. As we were only a couple we were paying a premium, better value for a family. Gardens surrounded the property with plenty of choice of seating, weather permitting."

"A great smallish townhouse in the centre of Bramtome and very well appointed. Near to the shops and trails if you are biking. ( Use Kamoot for the trails) The steps to the property from the street were a bit challenging with heavy e-bikes but managed OK . "

"It's well located near gorgeous villages, and the garden is beautiful. We had a lovely meal in the garden as the sun set - the exterior of the house is very atmospheric. However, the interior is in desperate need of modernising. The kitchen is rather make-shift and poorly equipped, and the bathroom is tired. With a bit of thought put in (new kitchen/bathroom) and a good clean, the property could be amazing. But for us the big problem was the steep stairs and unsafe rail at the top of the stairs...

"The property is excellent throughout: comfortable, spacious and well-equipped. The garden, with different seating spots depending on the sun's position and strength, is also extensive. I loved the area too, local towns Brantome & Nontron, the Perigord- Limousin Regional Park and the plus beau village of St Jean de Cole. I should hope to return!"

"Sometimes it really does pay off to go somewhere which is just a little further away from motorways, big cities etc. This house is truly relaxing and quiet. And yet, there are plenty of towns, markets, swimming lakes etc within a 10-15 kilometre distance. We travelled with our three kids and had such a great time - playing games, taking little trips to nearby swimming lakes, and barbecuing into the night. "The cottage is absolutely lovely and has everything one needs for a short or longer stay. Robert is a kind, considerate and generous host who gave us vegetables from his garden when we arrived. We had a great week there and enjoyed the quiet, rural location and private nature of the cottage and enclosed garden. We will definitely return! Highly recommended. "
