4/10 Poor

Should be really nice but sadly worn out!
The property is attached to the owners house with a separate entrance, which isn't clear in the photos. It is situated behind the main high street in Hossegor which means you have the bins from the back of the shops and some early morning truck deliveries - however on the plus side you are very central with easy access to the shops and the beach.
We knew the décor was a bit dated and it was a reasonable price for the type of property and location however we didn't expect that practically everything was worn out or broken.
Main bedroom the headboard was broken, one of the lights didn't work and the curtain was broken. Second bedroom, random chairs and table. Downstairs loo no towel rail and broken loo brush. Kitchen, lots of broken implements, dirty oven, broken coffee machine, dishwasher spray arms were full of gunk which meant we had to wash-up by hand. Shower was really old, and the door only worked if you carefully lined it up. Bar stool in kitchen was broken, one of the sitting room chairs was broken, upstairs loo no towel rail, to be honest the list goes on.... none of the furniture matched- it looked like a collection from a car boot sale, same for the crockery and glasses. The garden was much the same, broken lounge chairs, rusty BBQ, overgrown bushes and practically no light coming in.
We reported all of this to the agency Audouard Immobilier who contacted the owner and were told he didn't want to offer compensation or do anything about it. They told us it was because he was old...??? Still happy to take the money though!
I would avoid this if you care about what your holiday home looks like - apart from the oven it was clean, but overall not an enjoyable place to relax in when your on holiday. Such a shame as it could be absolutely stunning.
