We went after one of the worst storms in recent years. Host was great, making sure we were comfortable and if we needed anything. We really enjoyed our time. I think it's fair to say that anyone anytime will enjoy staying here.
In the winter, you can hunker down there and enjoy peace and quiet by the ocean. Bus heats up very quickly. Shower works great. The design can accommodate 3 adults and a toddler. We'd love to stay here in the summer next time and for longer.
The bus is extremely comfortable and well equipped. Lots of privacy, quiet neighborhood, and plenty of room to spread out. The owner was easy to reach and accommodating. The only difficulty was going down to the beach as the walk is steep and very slippery. Overall, we LOVED the bus!
We stayed in the Ski Bus at the end of our stay on the island and it was the perfect place to chill out and relax. We loved how beautifully adapted the bus was to be a functional and comfortable place to stay. We enjoyed kayaking up the shore and seeing the marine life, otters and seals on their daily pass by. I would recommend this fun bus to anyone looking for a relaxing adventure.
Loved our stay here! Most unique place we’ve stayed at😊. Well done renovation to make a cozy place to relax. It had everything we needed in the space. My favorite spot was the eating bar, looking out at that view!😍. Easy communication with the host- thanks for everything!
The bus is a very cool space, cozy and comfortable. The location is great for West Coast road beaches. Everything close by for restaurants and groceries etc. The view from the bus is the best!

Sweet Stay with Rocky Paths
The bus was a really fun experience. It's obvious that someone put a lot of thought into the renovations and meeting the needs of the "guests". We lacked for nothing.
Just saying that the rock paths were difficult to walk on and the beach access too steep for me, being a senior gal. The road noise distracted from the birdsongs and the area was too shady in the afternoon.
Thanks.

Adventure with my kids
It was a lovely reno and super fun. The access was hairy to the beach. We were respectful to the space. The owner commuicated often through the ap but when I asked for help with the stove he did not respond. Also he did yard work on the access when we were actually still using the area. I was also sent a $12 bill the second we arrived because the owner noted my son was present making our group 4 rather than 3. I assume it was a part of the agreement but it made me feel watched and hestitand to relax. The beds were fatastic including the futon.
We loved absolutely everything about our stay in Sooke on the ski bus! Situated on the water, the view is amazing....you can watch the sun rise laying in bed. Mornings were spent paddling the calm waters of Sooke Basin on kayaks provided by the host and enjoying coffee on the deck. We spent our afternoons hiking in the area to beautiful beaches and lookout points. A drive to Botanical Beach in Port Renfrew is totally worth it, especially if you stop at Shirley Delicious for breakfast. Evenings were spent on the property, preparing meals on the BBQ and air fryer then cozying up to read a book or watch a movie. Highly recommend this unique experience!
My husband & I chose to stay in the Ski Bus for our 35th anniversary. (Apparently 2 other couples celebrated the same anniversary in Sept., according to the guestbook!) It was the perfect space for the 2 of us and it’s close to so much! We kayaked with the seals, hiked up the river to the Potholes, visited a couple of breweries, and of course, gave Argo the dog some love. The bus was supplied with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Dan was prompt in answering questions and making sure we had all we needed. I wish we could have stayed longer.
So if it’s your 35th wedding anniversary, we highly recommend staying in the Sooke Ski Bus! 😆Actually we recommend staying there for whatever reason you’re in Sooke - you won’t regret it!
My wife and 17 month old son chose the ski bus as the accommodation for our first ever visit to the island and it couldn’t have been any better. In fact, I don’t know how we’re going to return to the island without trying to rebook the bus again.
As it happens, my son is going through a major infatuation with busses, so we couldn’t get him out of the captain’s seat for a few hours after arriving. That novelty didn’t wean away for our entire stay either.
Our intention was to use the bus as our home hub, but travel around the island over the course of a few days. But the very warm welcome from our hosts, the above and beyond accommodation of our needs, and the beauty of the immediate surroundings quickly convinced us to spend our entire stay at the bus and in Sooke.
Overall, it’s a gorgeous setting with so many options for active outdoorspeople and explorers. When you’re done hiking, cold plunging, kayaking, or paddling boarding, the bus is beautiful, clean and safe setting to spend your evenings.
Job well done, team!
