Welcome to the Hooker House

The Hooker House is a bi-level home. You have the entire home upstairs and I live below with a private entrance. It is located in a quiet neighborhood close to many wineries and a 10 minute drive to the downtown. Equipped with 3 bedrooms with queen size beds, 1 wide couch (extra place to sleep for 1), 2 full bathrooms, fully stocked kitchen, Wifi, TV (streaming apps only) , large deck for gathering or relaxing with a great view, W & D in the garage and parking on/off property. Welcome all!

Joseph Hooker (11/13/1814 – 10/31/1879) an American Civil War general for the Union, remembered for his defeat by Confederate General Robert E. Lee at the Battle of Chancellorsville 1863. In order to keep his troops happy, he hired women to take care of them. Thus the name "Hooker." He retired in Sonoma, CA., his home is now Bedrock Wine Tasting south of the plaza and there is a locally made liquor called Hooker House Bourbon that can be purchased at Prohibition Spirits Distillery on the plaza.

Beautiful Sonoma Family Home
This place was perfect for our family weekend in Sonoma. The open concept kitchen and family room were perfect for our dinners and the back porch looking out into the oak trees was serene. Our family enjoyed a long night of corn hole out in the front yard under the lovey string lights. The house was clean, check in was a breeze and Jenny was a great communicator. This house nestled just up the hill but still close enough to head into town. Jenny provided a detailed list of local shops, restaurants, bars and activities and had we stayed longer I’m sure we would have checked more of those boxes. Only 20 minutes away from the Sonoma Raceway and about a 40minute radius to all of wine country.

Perfect house for a wine country getaway!
The house is beautiful. Convenient location. It is minutes from downtown Sonoma. Even before we arrived, the host sent us information about the area. Restaurants, wineries, things to do, etc. There were fresh flowers and a bowl of snacks waiting for us when we arrived. That was greatly appreciated after traveling all day! The beds were comfortable, and the house/kitchen was fully stocked. The deck was perfect for having a glass of wine and unwinding in the evening. All in all, I highly recommend Hooker House for your wine country stay!

Comfy, quiet home
We were very happy with this rental - it was in a very peaceful neighborhood just off the main road into Sonoma and close to wineries. The kitchen is fully equipped with nice appliances, cookware, utensils, etc. A good selection of staples, spices, were appreciated. We didn't use the spacious deck due to chilly weather but it does overlook the beautiful yard and garden.

Beautiful house
This is actually the second time I’ve stayed at Hooker House, and both times have been excellent! The house is beautiful, spacious, and well-equipped. It is a short drive to many vineyards and restaurants. Jenny answers all questions in a timely fashion and was even so generous as to offer early check-in and late check-out when she didn’t have other guests! We were also greeted by a handwritten note on the door inviting us to use the fireplace if we wished. I wholeheartedly recommend this house!

We were in town for a family wedding. Jenny's place was perfect - we loved the easy to get to location, great neighborhood for morning walks, comfy beds, 2 bathrooms and the covered porch for watching the rain. Jenny had so many little touches - our favorites were the games, snacks, and candles!

Perfect stay
A group of friends (one with an infant) came to stay here for the Napa to Sonoma half marathon. Jenny’s place was the perfect home for our needs. It was quiet but conveniently located to downtown Sonoma and wineries. She was incredibly responsive and did everything to make our stay top notch. She even had a bag of toys for the baby and a pack and play. We highly recommend this stay for your next visit to Sonoma.

We attended a family wedding in Kenwood at BR Cohn Winery and this house was perfect. Located very close to downtown Sonoma for some fun wine tasting and great lunches and dinners. Perfect for Wine Tasting in the Area
The house was perfect for my family of 6 adults who were in the area for food and wine adventures. It was raining and we were unable to use the outdoor area. That would have been fun but California needs the rain. The indoor space was adequate for us. We spent most of the time exploring the wineries in Sonoma anyway. The kitchen is loaded with anything you might need for cooking including pantry staples like cooking oil, salt, sugar, coffee, sweeteners, tea, etc. Lots of towels, blankets, pillows, candles to stay warm and cozy. Jenny answered my questions very quickly and we had a very enjoyable weekend in Sonoma.

Perfect spot with great beds!
This was a great place! Beds were good, but don't rely on the futon in downstairs area for adult sleeping but kiddos probably fine. Host left lasts of little notes about house which gave good pointers on any quirks or expectations she had for the home.
