Newly renovated hillside home has vineyard, mountain and valley views throughout. The Master Bedroom looks out over the Valley of the Moon with access to a rooftop garden and hot tub where you can soak in vineyard views. Located between the Sonoma Plaza and Glen Ellen the property provides close proximity to the best restaurants and activities that Sonoma county has to offer. This newly renovated hillside home his situated on three levels and decorated throughout with all new contemporary furnishings. At the center of it all is a courtyard with outdoor fire pit and sliding glass wall that opens up the dining/living area.

A Modern Sonoma offers a full gourmet kitchen with built in BBQ right off the dining and living areas. The lower level features 3 Bedrooms (two with queen size beds and a Jack & Jill bathroom,and the third can be used as a media/game room or a bedroom with a queen bed. There is an additional full bathroom across from the media/bedroom.

Spectacular property!
This property is absolutely amazing! Tucked away in a private area, this home truly feels like a spa retreat (which is exactly what I was hoping for). Perfect for a group - we had 7 girls staying here. Kim thought of all the little things (make-up mirrors in the bathrooms, q-tips, removal rounds, amenities in the showers, etc). And when I couldn't find something, she was easily reached and responsive. We are already planning another trip to stay here again!

Amazing property, amazing location.
We came to Sonoma from the east coast to attend a wedding. The house was perfect for our party of 6. We all had enough individual space to relax, the common areas were very inviting, and the all of the outdoor spaces provided great opportunities for relaxation. The views were great and made you feel like you were in the country...and yet we were only minutes from Sonoma square. The house was very well appointed and had everything we needed - ample towels, fully stocked kitchen and bathrooms, comfortable beds and bedding, and beautiful decor. The house really rounded out what was already a joyful weekend.

Don't pass this one up!
This was a perfect place for me and my 4 girlfriends to stay while exploring wine country. Kim was extremely helpful before and during our stay. From restaurant recommendations to transportation companies, she responded quickly with a long list of options. The house was very clean, beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked and plenty of patio options for enjoying the outdoors! We enjoyed morning walks to nearby Barking Dog Roasters. If I ever return to Sonoma, I hope to stay again!

Well appointed VRBO in Sonoma
Staying at this property was a treat indeed! AMPLE space for 2 couples (and more) to enjoy the week in the Sonoma Valley. Wonderful amenities; like staying in a personal home. Easy access to restaurants in Sonoma and highways to wineries. Beautiful views in all directions. Would love to return and stay longer to enjoy the house more, in addition to the area! Owner was thorough in provisions and instructions regarding the use of the home. I would highly recommend this VRBO!

Despite the dismal weather we had a wonderful time! This lovely home was extremely well equipped and comfortable. Given the rain, We were grateful to have the large, indoor gathering space for all of us to enjoy. I would not recommend this home for anyone who has issues with stairs.

Perfect Sonoma Home for couples, girls trip and families!
Our family of 6 had an amazing stay at A Modern Somona - this home is in a wonderful location and the owner literally thought of everything! There was nothing we could think of that was not provided! From a fantastically appointed kitchen to games, books and TV’s to a stunning view with multiple outdoor gathering areas, and hot tub and outdoor grill…full sized bath products, dryers, steamer, iron, extra pillows, robes, blankets and towels…I could go on and on……..this wonderful home provided the perfect gathering spaces plus privacy with a spectacular view! We loved every minute of our stay in this beautiful home and will definitely reserve this place again! Could not recommend A Modern Sonoma more! WE LOVED IT!

Unbelievable Trip
If I could give it 6 stars I would. This was an AMAZING house to stay in. We took 4 couples for 5 days/4 nights and just had a great time at Kim's place. We spent 2 full days in Napa and 1 in Sonoma, and the house was such a perfect place to come to and relax. 30 minutes from anywhere we went. The open layout was perfect for people to be in the kitchen, relax on the couch to watch TV, or sit outside next to the fire pit. Kim was great to work with, communicated very well at all stages of the planning. All of the amenities of the house made us feel right at home. I will have a hard time staying any where else. Thanks Kim!

Above and beyond in every way!
We just returned home after staying in Kim’s incredible rental property. We’ve stayed in several VRBO/HomeAway properties in the past, and this was our best experience yet. Kim was a helpful, gracious hostess, meeting us on the first day to explain everything, treating us with wine and cheese, and always available by phone or text. It is definitely a luxury property — she has thought of every single thing to make it comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed all that came with the rental — fully stocked kitchen and bar, hot tub, sound system, TV/DVR/streaming system, gas fireplace, high-end furniture, comfortable beds, shampoo/conditioner/shower gel, even robes to wear while there and slippers for trips to the hot tub, air conditioning for warm days, patios for cool nights, and unbelievable views and sunsets. It was a great location, too … not in the Sonoma Square so it was quiet, but one-hour or less driving to everywhere including San Fran, several coastal beaches, Muir Woods, Sausalito/Tiburon, Armstrong Redwoods, hiking all around the Sonoma area, all Napa and Sonoma wineries and towns. Not sure how we’ll ever top this!

The home was decorated beautiful with all the amenities except an air-condition that was big enough for the house. Understanding we have no control of the weather, we wanted to come inside the house to cool off and it was NOT possible. At times in interior temps reached 86 degrees with the doors open and 88 with the doors closed. Our main goal was to leave the house in the AM and return home for dinner to cook in the amazing kitchen however, we had to eat out each night since the heat was unbearable (without the oven on) and stay out of the house as late as possible. At least after midnight each night the temps dropped to where sleep was bearable. I called Kim numerous times and I was told that they needed another AC unit that was large enough to cool the house which was no help to me! The shower upstairs was so hot for the sun that the liquid soap burned my skin!!!!!! Also, the downstairs bathroom did not have working lights and after a call to Kim she told me that it was a big job and the electrician needed a few days so You can put your makeup on in another room......????? The fire alarms went off 2 nights in a row and Kim had the electrician disconnect them. At $800 a night it was not worth it. Pretty Disappointing! Thank goodness Sonoma had wonderful wineries to keep us busy during the day. The 60 mile trip to San Francisco was a beautiful ride. A must visit is RAMS Gate winery outside the Sonoma raceway. :) Glad to get home to the AC in Florida.

Modern Sonoma is Fantastic
Our stay at Modern Sonoma was absolutely fantastic! We had seven adults and the home was perfect for us. The home itself was very nicely laid out and the amenities were plentiful!! The home was very accommodating as we were able to grill out our first night with a great sit down dinner!! We were also able to enjoy each others company in the evening sitting out on the back patio or the courtyard with the firepit going. Also, the ladies loved their relaxation while in the hot tub! I would definitely recommend this home for anyone staying in Sonoma!
