"A wonderful hidden gem on the side of a lake, overlooked by beautiful mountains. Lovely staff, delicious food. Just an easy place to stay and relax. I was told we were the 6th British couple to stay in the last 5 years. I'm not completely convinced by that but who cares, it was a joy."

"Loved the property as it was almost fairytale like. The staff was lovely and did everything possible to help us navigate the area. It is not easily reached by train and Uber is non-existent, but the property and its location is 5 star. Breakfast was included and it more than exceeded my expectation. "This hotel is listed in Expedia as "Alpenmotel Sauling". The hardest part was finding it. We followed Google Maps to the location but could not find "Alpenmotel" on any building or sign. We went up and down the streets. We finally found "Sauling" and found a self service set of boxes on the outside. We found our name and the keys. There was a building (house) number but no map. "This was the best part of our stay in Germany! The setting was gorgeous with a fantastic view of both the Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles. It was just what a pictured for a hotel in the Alps. We had a room the would accommodate 4 with a separate sleeping area with 2 double beds. Breakfast and dinner were available and were excellent. The staff was very helpful and courteous. Thankfully everyone spoke English to accommodate us, tourists who do not speak German well."

"It was very pleasant to stay at Hotel Filser and I would be happy to stay there again. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was quiet and had everything I needed. If I may suggest one thing, it would be to improve the lighting in the room,especially in the bathroom which felt a bit dark for my liking. The highlight was the restaurant and the food. I was truly happy with my meals! The breakfast spread was fantastic as well. I would highly recommend staying here!"
