A fantastic, recently refurbished cottage within the scenic rolling hills of Somerset. 4 fabulous bedrooms sleeping 8, (3 king and 1 twin); all bedrooms have wardrobe and drawer space and extra blankets and pillows, should they be needed. There are 2, inter-connecting, king bedrooms on the ground floor, with ceiling fans; and a king and twin on the first floor.
The ground floor is a wonderful open plan entertaining space, supplemented by an outside covered dining room to make the most of the evenings. The kitchen comes fully equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, oven with induction hob, microwave and tea and coffee making facilities. There will be a plentiful supply of tea, coffee and sugar for you; as well as washing-up liquid and tablets for the dishwasher and washing machine. A comfortable dining area allows the family to eat together. The lounge has 2 sofas, as well as armchairs, a large, flat screen TV, which works off of the WiFi, Netflix and I-Player are already loaded.
There are 2 luxury bathrooms, both are fully stocked with toiletries (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and toilet roll) and plenty of fluffy towels! Downstairs has an electric rainfall shower and toilet, whilst upstairs, en-suite to the double bedroom, has a roll top bath and toilet.
There is a beautiful, secure, large garden - 1/3 acre, with plenty of room for children, and adults, to make the most of the range of outdoor games (including badminton, croquet, giant Connect 4, cricket, football and many more), when you are exhausted from all the running around, relax on the double hammock sunbeds. Between May and September there is a cooling splash pool, with water games. The garden also has a large gas BBQ and warming firepit, to ensure you don't have to leave the property to make the most of the outdoors!
There is on-site, off-road, parking for 2 cars at the front of the property, on the private driveway.
The village is nestled between the village of Street and the historic market town of Somerton. We have a friendly village pub, serving great food, only a minute's walk from the front door and with a skittle alley, a lively cricket club and beautiful church.
There are a wonderful range of walks from the property, including the Polden Way, a number of Nature Reserves and the stunning views from Lollover, please use the OS maps provided to plan your adventures, maybe the local 3 peaks challenge - you will find a selection of routes printed off in your welcome folder. We are close to Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole, The Fleet Air Museum, Hayes Motor Museum, Longleat, and Shearwater Lake. Only 5 minutes drive is the Clarks Designer shopping outlet, Street, with restaurants and bars. Many country pubs and cider farms are close by.
Somerton (5 minutes by car) has a lovely selection of independent shops, art galleries and the opportunity to buy locally made craft/jewellery in the old market cross. The beautiful city of Wells (the smallest city in England), with its magnificent Cathedral, is only 20 minutes drive. Kayaking is possible on the beautiful River Parrett, 15 minutes away. Glastonbury, with the beautiful Abbey ruins and lovely walk to the Tor, is only 4 miles away.
If you fancy a day at the seaside, you can be there in less than an hour.
On a clear night, the expansive sky and stars are mesmerising - as is the Polden Way and the many farm animals that graze, as a daytime alternative.
Plenty to keep families, or groups of friends, entertained and allow them to unwind.
