Recently renovated and under new property management, Blue Mountain Retreat is relaxing fall, winter, spring or summer. Located in the heart of Laurel Highlands within walking distance to Kooser State Park nestled between Hidden Valley, Seven Springs and Laurel Mountain ski resorts, this family and pet friendly cabin in the woods has everything you need to enjoy an outdoor getaway. Travelers have enjoyed this cozy home in the mountains as a solo rejuvenating escape for 1, a romantic getaway for 2, a family vacation, or a get together with friends/extended family.

Nearby attractions include hiking, biking, skiing, fishing, golfing, star gazing, bird watching, restaurants, spas and more. Enjoy the many trails and ponds nearby at Kooser (2 minute drive), Laurel Hill (7 minute drive) or Forbes (12 minute drive) State Parks. Bike the GAP trail at Rockwood just 15 minutes away. Check out the local resorts for food, golf, spas, ziplines, mountain biking, special events, skiing and more at Hidden Valley (5 minute drive), Seven Springs (17 minute drive), or Laurel Mountain (30 minute drive). Peruse the local towns of Somerset (15 minute drive), Ligonier (30 minute drive) or Ohiopyle (34 minute drive) for restaurants, shopping, white water rafting and trails. Local attractions also include Idlewild, Caddyshack, Living Treasures Animal Park, Laurel Caverns, Jennerstown Speedway, Fort Ligonier and more! Even though you will feel like you are in the middle of the woods in a peaceful setting, if you forget anything a gas station/convenience store is only a 2 minute drive away and a grocery store is only a 20 minute drive away. Once you settle in, you will enjoy a backyard with a picnic table, gas grill, bonfire pit, and hot tub or the spacious kitchen and spa soaker tub in the first floor bathroom. Excellent WiFi service will help you stay connected to friends, family, and work (Gasp! Only if necessary...you should be relaxing!) or allow you to finally binge watch that series you always wanted to see. A variety of games, foosball, and darts will help you stay entertained and unplug from screens too!

3 bedrooms and 2 baths accommodates a maximum of 8 people and 2 well behaved, house trained dogs. There is an additional $30 per night pet fee when fur family joins you at the cabin. Please be sure to check the pet box when booking to pay during your reservation, or you will need to pay it before your arrival.

If you have additional people or pets in your party, please message to inquire about also renting Mountain Grove (with indoor treehouse kid gaming room also accommodating up to 8 people. See VRBO.com/3615517 ) adjacent to Blue Mountain Retreat. Multiple families have enjoyed renting both cabins for relaxing family reunions or birthday celebrations.

The location off of 31 makes it easily accessible year round, but far enough off the road to be peacefully tucked in the woods. A limit of 3 cars per cabin has to be maintained because there is no overflow parking available nearby (AWD or 4WD vehicles during the winter months of snow are required for ease of access). Visitors should be accounted for in your reservation.

The cottage was cozy and cute. Had everything we needed for our stay. My family enjoyed the hot tub and all the games. Our last night spending time together around the fire cooking s’mores.

Great Family get away
The house was very clean. There is lots to do. There is darts and foosball, the hot tub and the big soaking tub. My family used everything there and had a great time. The host is super nice and answers questions asap! Would definitely stay here again. There are very close neighbors but no one was renting their other cabin while we were there. We were able to bring our dog along too which was great!

Amazing spot for a weekend ‘retreat.’
Our family enjoyed a perfect fall weekend at the Blue Mountain retreat. Amazing location with close proximity to so many great hiking trails! Very clean home with all the amenities one would need. We loved grilling, looking at the stars from the hot tub, and making s’mores over the fire. The owner was extremely responsive and helpful. Highly recommend and hope to visit again in the future! Our entire family had a wonderful time!

Perfect weekend getaway
My family and I had a fantastic time at Blue Mountain Retreat! The house was perfect; updated, clean, and cozy. 5 adults, 1 teen, and 2 kids fit comfortably. The fire pit was a great place to hang out and the hot tub was just icing on the cake! The host was super responsive and kind. Would definitely stay again! Highly recommend!!

Family reunion in Laurel Highlands
We spent a weekend at the Blue Mountain Retreat for a family reunion. Lisa is a 5-star host - responsive to inquiries, gracious and resourceful with many suggestions for things to do in the area. The house is beautiful and comfortable, and we felt right at home! We enjoyed the hot tub, grill, fire pit and star gazing! Wonderful stay
The house is so cozy and well stocked. The decor and kitchen ware was of superior quality. We loved the fire pit and foosball table. Our dog enjoyed the backyard. The owner was very responsive and provided wonderful local suggestions and information. We would stay there again.

Lisa went above and beyond helping us to settle into the cabin. She gave us so many wonderful suggestions for fun activities and great food…all within a short drive. The cabin is charming, comfortable and well stocked. We throughly enjoyed the hot tub and outdoor fire pit. It was a great place to relax and reconnect!

Our time at the Blue Mountain Retreat was very pleasant. There was enough space for the 4 of us to hang out and be together but also have our own space. The hot tub worked so well and was located in a nice shady spot off the back door. This is a wonderful spot for a weekend getaway and I would definitely stay there again!

Friends sharing house
The house was very clean, fully stocked with kitchen appliances and tools, and located on a quiet street. It was a reasonable price since we split the cost between 7 of us. If you were to reserve it for 8 people, make sure that some of you are okay with sleeping in bunkbeds. There is a queen and king size bed and 2 sets of bunk beds (4 beds). Lisa, the owner, was excellent with communicating information.

Clean, well maintained, well stocked w everything for kitchen, grilling etc & even games! The hot tub was new & very clean. Loved the outdoor firepit! Very spacious inside & great to have new washer & dryer to use. Would definitely book it again. Host was very helpful w trip ideas & answering any requests or questions. Kitchen & bathrooms were newly remodeled & very nice. Awesome French door fridge w lots of room for all our provisions!

Golf Trip
This is an awesome property! We stayed with 8 guys and slept comfortably with plenty of space to sleep and plenty of space to hang out as a group. The backyard was great with all the amenities. Lisa is amazing! She is extremely thorough and makes sure you have everything you need. Look no further if you have 2 groups wanting play golf at 7 springs and hidden valley!

Family Ski trip
Our stay at the Blue Mountain retreat was perfect! Plenty of space for our group and very close by the Seven Springs resort area where we skied for the two days we were there. The house was very clean upon arrival and the kitchen was well stocked and everything was easy to find. We all loved the hot tub too! Would definitely stay here again!
