Wonderful get-away
Such a peaceful spot, yet close to all the valley restaurants and wineries. The best part, sitting on the deck with wine and seeing the animals, the mountains, and sunset.

A beautiful place to stay! We just loved it - the views, the animals and the place was wonderful! Great host and easy check in. Perfect for the 4 of us for a girls get away. Beds were so comfortable! Close to Los Olivos for dinner with lots of great options. Will definitely stay again when in the area. Thank you!!

Great farmhouse stay
Really loved this converted three-car garage into a two-story apartment - the decor and farmhouse appointments were really nice and we loved the natural light and brightness on the upper level especially. Also liked the outdoor spaces and all the views were spectacular. Great location for wine tasting and close to Solvang and Los Olivos restaurants.

Amazing trip and destination!
We cannot say more good things about this property - location, charm, views, gorgeous sunsets, stargazing at night, Jen's kindness and hospitality, the animals - it was an absolutely perfect getaway. Very close to Solvang and wineries and grocery stores. Will definitely return in the fall for the grape picking season!

Perfect Weekend
This was our second visit to Anavo Farms and we can’t wait to visit again! I celebrated my birthday here amongst the beauty and serenity of the farm and all of its’ inhabitants. Jenn is the perfect host and made us feel totally at home. So many cozy touches, a welcoming bottle of wine and an assortment of goodies including delicious cheese and farm fresh eggs. We enjoyed watching the animals in the pasture while having our morning coffee. There’s even food to feed them … so much fun. Close to Ballard, Los Olivos and many wineries. This is a very special place and we look forward to our next stay. Thanks again for everything Jenn!

Beautiful and private wine country vacation home!
Anavo farm is amazing! The converted carriage house is beautifully transformed into a private cottage, and every detail to make our stay comfortable was attended to. This is truly a special place. I can not recommend Anavo Farm more highly. Jen was the perfect host. We will stay here again without a doubt.

Perfect location! The most charming, delightful space imaginable! So many complimentary items—wine in fridge available for purchase! Goats and sheep on site—beyond wonderful! I can’t say enough great things about this property. Our host, Jen was terrific. This is a wonderful place for a getaway.

Beautiful and Relaxing
This was probably one of the best places I have stayed in over the years. The cottage is lovely- beautiful views of the pasture and mountains from both upstairs and downstairs. Close to towns, while still feeling nice and unplugged. There was a welcoming bottle of wine and miscellaneous snacks- which was great after the my drive, and the animals were very sweet and friendly. Comfortable bed and couches upstairs and down. Would definitely stay here again.

Romantic Hideaway
This is a perfectly charming cottage that is ideal for a couple's getaway - for wine tasting, for hiking, for experiencing fabulous weather. The views are fantastic and the property is full of whimsy. The outside garden is beautiful, with hummingbirds all around and lizards darting about. The aromas from the lavender and wisteria are intoxicating, and the firepit is perfect for a chilly evening with a bottle of wine. The unit was clean, well-stocked and roomy for two people. We loved the décor and the vibe, and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

Beautiful property
We loved this place! The deck with views and the animals, the fire pit and the privacy were amazing. The owner was very nice and easy to work with. We were disappointed in the bed. It’s a small queen on a platform on the floor with very little space to tip toe along the side to climb in and out. It’s in a crammed area off to the side of a second upstairs living room. There is a main living room downstairs. It should be a nice big bed in the upstairs with a sitting area to the side. Also could use drapes over the windows as we’re both light sensitive. We loved it, but not having a nice bed is why we can’t give 5 stars.

Our new favorite spot
The short version is this: Everything positive that other visitors have said about Anavo Farm is true, and then some. It's beautiful, inviting, well appointed, quiet and private and thoughtfully designed, even more gorgeous than the pictures. But more then anything else, both my husband and I felt like our hosts really just wanted us to feel taken care of. From the variety of snacks waiting for us in the kitchen, to the thoughtful guidebook with tons of local recommendations, to the bathroom that had anything that we might have forgotten at home. At every turn, this marvelous place made us feel well taken care of. We've travelled all over the world, and accordingly rented endless lovely apartment. But it's the care and consideration put into Anavo Farms that makes this our new favorite spot.

The most amazing farmhouse cottage
We had simply the most amazing time at this outstanding property. Jen is the most amazing host. The cottage is beautifully furnished, immaculate and has everything you could possibly ask for. There is no detail not thought of or provided for. A wonderful kitchen, living areas beyond beautiful and outside decks to enjoy the amazing views. This property was just stunning. We walked, biked and sat out at night watching the stars by the fire pit. Watching Zora the sheep roam in the pastures in front of the cottage was another highlight and such a cool experience. From the complementary bottle of delicious wine and cheese - we can’t thank Jen enough for giving us a wonderful few days away and memories of a magical place to share and remember forever. 5 stars just aren’t enough!

A slice of heaven
I booked this amazing find for a weekend getaway with my husband. The experience was spectacular. The cottage is so beautifully decorated, from the furnishings to the art work to the cozy touches, that you feel so at home. The setting is breathtaking and serene, looking out onto the surrounding hills and farm land. It was such a treat to watch the animals (horses, alpacas, goats, sheep, chickens, dogs) graze and play throughout the day. There’s even food available to feed them! We loved it so much that we brought meals back to the cottage to enjoy on the patio, as opposed to at a restaurant. Jen is an incredible host - so personal, friendly, helpful and attentive. She has created a beautiful retreat filled with delicious complimentary local treats; environmentally-friendly toiletries; and the most thorough, useful, and high-quality guest guide filled with recommendations to nearby vineyards, eateries, hikes and activities. Her attention to detail was evident in every part of our experience. We can’t wait to return!

Centrally Located Tranquil Getaway
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Anavo! The house is immaculate and stocked with everything one would need. There were many special touches that you won't find elsewhere. Welcoming wine, snacks, specialty coffee creamer, well stocked kitchen, 2 coffee makers, extensive toiletries, lap blankets, plush bedding, fireplace, TV with multiple streaming options...there are discrete notes throughout the house to help you figure things out as well as a lovely book about the history and use of the house. We would head out everyday for breakfast, come back and relax on the upstairs patio before heading out for wine tasting, shopping, etc. We loved the patios! It was so relaxing to just sit and watch the animals graze in the fields, the breeze blowing through the trees and grass. With all the recent CA rains, everything was so lush and green and just beautiful! Anavo is an ideal location, close to town, wineries, and eateries. Note that you are right next to the owner's private residence, so be respectful of their privacy. Jen was very respectful and considerate of ours. I would definitely stay here again!

Quiet Country Cottage
First, this place could be found in any magazine. The cottage guest house is perfectly manicured from the moment you pull into the driveway. There are several seating areas outside. Some more romantic and others for guests to dine or entertain outside. All sourounded by various flowers, vines, plants and shrubs; very beautiful and relaxing. The inside is straight out of a magazine cover. Jen has created the perfect country cottage. The main level has the living area, dinning area, kitchen, and bathroom. Upstairs has the bed, two window beds or seating areas, two couches for additional relaxing, and a balcony overlooking the property and endless views of the hills. It had everything you might need, from all kitchen utensils, cooking and dinning ware, hair dryer, iron, extra blankets and linens, and treats for the animals. And, the animals were awesome. I swear they could hear the car door shut and would head over to greet you on your way in. One more thing to note is the location. It is literally 10 minutes to about everywhere; various vineyards, Solvang, Los Olivos, and Santa Ynez. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Wine and farm getaway
Wow, where do I start? This was one of the most unique properties we’ve stayed at for an extended wine weekend getaway. When we first arrived we were greeted by goats, llamas, and horses, which in my opinion was a wonderful welcome. The property itself is beautiful and thoughtfully designed and decorated throughout. You can tell the owner, Jen really put her time and special touch to make the cottage feel like a special getaway for guests. She was so attentive to all our needs/requests, but still maintained a sense of privacy. In addition to the beautiful surroundings and property, there were special treats when we arrived, including a complimentary bottle of wine, delicious manchego cheese, and a basketful of various snacks. The refrigerator was also stocked with drinks, wine, and, our favorite, farm eggs! Although the kitchen is compact we made several meals during our stay with no problem at all and used the grill to cook dinners and roast some fresh vegetables we picked up from Finley Farms just down the road. The location is perfect and central to Santa Ynez Valley wineries, as well as dining options. We visited many wineries throughout the weekend and our furthest drive was under 30 minutes. Although the property is close to everything it’s still private and quiet. We took morning runs and enjoyed passing by farms, horses, grapevines, and other stunning properties. We had an amazing few days and can’t wait to visit Anavo Farm again soon!

Quite the gem
The property is immaculately kept with incredible details inside and out that reflect the love and conscientiousness of the host. The inside is filled with small details (such as hand-written notes) that create a bit of a treasure hunting mentality and the landscaping on the outside is only surpassed by the sheer cuteness of the farm animals that come for treats. The welcome gifts (wine and cheese) were thoughtful and appreciated. The greatest bonus was a basket of eggs from their chicken that made my SO thrilled for her breakfast. The property itself is off the beaten path but also extremely convenient to Solvang, Los Olivos, and Santa Ynez. It was extremely quiet and private. I have only two knocks and both are minor but should be known. The first is the light. There are large, east-facing windows that, because of the architecture, cannot have the same blackout shades the rest of the windows have. For me it was not an issue, but I am an early riser. For my SO, however, it was another story. She accommodated it though. The second, again unavoidable with the architecture, is the bathroom is down a fairly steep set of stairs and off the kitchen. Since the bedroom is an open studio design, you either do the trip in the dark or turn on a light an wake up your partner. Again, just be aware. Offsetting that was three great outdoor areas. An upstairs balcony gave a great view of the farm animals and was a great place to see the stars at night. Downstairs there was both a sitting area that was nice for morning coffee and a separate lounge area next to a firepit.
